It was a downright structurally bad show with abuse of narration, half-baked characterization, rough editing, lazy repeated crowd shots, awkwardly bad animation, rushed development and relationships (Otabek and Fairy, JJ screwing up). Should have been laser-focused on Yuuri's development instead of devoting all that time to the skating when the characters are so underdeveloped as it is. The performances don't stand out in a way to make each episode distinct and begin to blur together. Overall I'd say the early episodes did a better job in making me attached to the characters but hastily introducing an ensemble cast ruined a lot of the show's potential. Hopefully S2 is better.
