what's considered good animation?

tits and ass
>>151853487
good directing.
attention to detail
Add tits and ass.
Add shock factor.
Add female characters who have no personality whatsoever and make them lust for the MC dick.
Make the MC as average as possible so people can self insert.
A good story, told well.

When everything fits together

no cute girls

Compelling story, characters you can care for, visual direction that brings out the best in the setting, music that suits the mood, and above all else; the folks behind it having fun while making it.

proper rendering

sissy like Shinji
>No hyper energetic qts
>No moe blobs
>No tsunderes
>No shitty chibi humor
>No high school setting
>No that fucking same boring MC you see in 90% of all anime
>No "nothing personnel badass" characters that cut up 1000 enemies with their eyes closed
>Originality or at least good writing
>Interesting characters
>Visually compelling animation
My tastes.

Can an anime still be bad with cute girls in it?
When it makes you constantly mention it to others in an annoying manner.
>>151853487
If I enjoy it.

o-oh my
A proper ending. I just want a good ending all we've had the last seasons is pure garbage in the ending department.

If I like it it's good
If you like it it's shit
>Theme(s)
An anime needs to speak to a viewer. And it should never be preachy either. A good theme just flows from the telling.
>Plotline
MC should succeed or fail in their goal without relying on deus ex machina. As the conflict intensifies the theme should grow more and more clear. Character development is a big thing many anime don't pull off well.
>Characters
I'm not saying dedicate entire seasons to the mailman but for fucksake use your damn characters. And don't introduce 6 million cast members just to get bored and ignore them for the rest of the series. Good characters should be comparable to ourselves in some way, if not then compelling enough to keep us caring about them. Characters should never be at risk of turning into flat caricatures. Archetypes are fine from a storytelling perspective, but refusing to use said archetype to further some aspect of the story is utter faggotry. Dialogue and romance is always a bit tricky for the shut-in autists who make up the majority of writers and fans nowadays.
>Setting
Grimdark emo dramaworlds are just as boring as sugar bowl utopias.
As far as worldbuilding goes, remember to maintain internal consistency. If we established X can't do/be Y then don't go back on it unless you set up some damn good foreshadowing that it's not entirely true.

Space battles.

Nailed it.
Though I'd say there are a couple that are good in a Highschool setting
> GTO
> Sakamoto desu ga?
> Cromartie Highschool
