I want to see what if Swim Swim and Lapis Lazuline 2 had survived. They seem to be the most interesting X factor to the overarching plot, the former for her unpredictability and the latter for her possible relation with the man-made MG project.

It might? Hardgore can regenerate on the molecular level, given the statement that every molecule must be accounted for. But a black haze is left by the stuff Sonia vaporizes, so that should be enough to reform. If it vaporized down to the molecular level, nothing should be seeable. It probably take Alice out of the fight effectively, but not kill her.

Also, the thing is they didn't felt cornered. It was a tiny useless heart card in their eyes, just a small bother after finally escaping hell, which is why Filuru just tells him to go home.
And yes, it is normal to throw up a spear/trident when you are surprised by an enemy or the enemy is without a weapon himself. Stopping it mid air is impossible for anyone and dodging it is just an opening to attack.
