It's adorable how Americans in Japanese media are so quick to sue.
>>
Just finished my first route-Gehenna's Stigma. Enjoying the writing a lot and the main plotlines seem interesting, characters are great as ever too (and Maho and Leskinen seem on par, although I'm less sold on Mayuri's friends). The timeskips feel a little jarring though so far, as do the character perspective flips. Anyone else felt like that?

I think he's legit the first character to make me laugh out loud from a VN, anime or manga-although part of that is admittedly the glorious Engrish.

One thing I have found a bit weird on top of aforementioned pacing issues is that a few situations have come up where lab mems should have picked up that Okabe is in touch with "Kurisu" or at least something related to her. Feels funny that it hasn't been addressed-especially at the shrine, with Suzuha around.

At least they have their reasons, I guess. Still not convinced the parallels justify the weird pacing though.

The woman in black seems to vary between timelines, which is interesting. She was Kagari in Stigma, but that's impossible in Maho's route. I'm thinking she's probably Yuki or Reyes because no way it's not an already introduced character. Reyes doesn't seem like the sort so I'm guessing Yuki somehow. Memory manipulation makes a lot possible.

Yeah, the woman in black motorbike suit confused a lot of anons when we were discussing the VN right after english release.

They didn't even change anything about her model, so we are supposed to assume that half of the female cast is identical in every one of their 3 sizes.

I definitely agree on Luka's part-I like him but he's nothing special as a character. Leaning towards agreeing with Moeka too-she's a good character and all but Maho and Leskinen are excellent. I do think Tennouji is on par with them though, I've been sorta missing him on occasion throughout the game. His appearance during the party scene was badass as hell.
>>
I'm liking Daru a lot more than in the first game too, although his new art is a bit questionable.

Gamma made me like Moeka a lot more. She isn't just an obsessive sperg, sort of.
>>
Yet again, my comments are invalidated ten seconds after making them. Luka confronting Amane is a fantastic scene and is making me appreciate him a lot more as a character, enough that I've gotten over my issues with the perspective switches.
>>
>>151785206
She's still completely an obsessive sperg, just for Okabe's dick instead of her phone.

Twin Automata made me like Moeka a lot more but I haven't seen any of the Gamma anything yet.
>>
>>151785187
His new art is shit but his personality is great.

>>151785222
No it certainly is a good scene. I appreciated Lukako more after zero but to me Maho and Leskinen are original tier after you have finished 0. I wouldn't see them as second class characters like Kagari and Mayrui's orbiters.

>>151785232
Between Twin and gamma you'll really like her I bet. Watch out for gamma though. They get a surprising amount of suffer into what is only an hour of audio.

I definitely agree that Maho and Leskinen are totally on par with the original cast, even if I'm not sure where I'd rate them compared to the originals. Mainly because I struggle to rate the original cast even within themselves due to liking them all quite a lot (except Kurisu and Okabe being at the top).

I am more surprised at how much Maho love there is. I don't know if it's only because 0 came out recently or people really do like her.
>>
>>151785631
Maho is a genuinely great character. She has more depth than most of the S;G characters (though a lot of them got fleshed in 0)
>>
I think it's because she feels like she gets the most consistent interaction with Okabe in Zero, at least so far. Chemistry with the main character really helps get a character popular, especially when the MC is as good as Okabe. Fully admit fact I'm still reading it could mean recency bias though-although I just finished rereading SG as well (stopped just before true ending, so I could run through everything in chronological order from SG through SG 0 to the OVA and movie).

Maho is a charming, relatable character and she'll be fondly talked about for a very long time.
>>
>>151785653
Also that's a good catch on how 0 fleshes out the old game. Whilst as a standalone game I'm currently leaning towards it being close to but not superior to the original, it's shockingly impressive how it's managed to elevate the first one even higher by developing its characters and world.

Alpha Suzuha is a girl who desperately wants to do the right thing and save the world. She comes from a time where human impulses are policed and controlled, and longs for the normal everyday life of a free world. She has a lot of moe attributes.

I liked her especially after reading the Onshuu no Brownian Motion manga to see what she made of herself through the door of time.

I 100%'d SG0 last night and my only questions are why the fuck did showing "Kurisu" to Okabe at the American Airforce Base in Kanda trigger a worldline change? and Why does "Kurisu" call Okabe and ask him to help her which then causes a world line change?

Amadeus holds time travel knowledge, I assume showing Amadeus to Okabe triggered her spilling the secrets to the Americans thus normalizing the world line change. For the second question, we can only speculate.

Yes, this VN was done badly, it could have been way better if the routes actually added something to the story. Don't get me wrong, the characterizations were done greatly, but the story has many gaps in it. There are so many questions being asked in these threads that I think it should have been approached differently. I mean what did Maho route do? It gave us insight on the frame problem and a little bit of Amadeus backstory. What did Kagari route bring? A song which is a paradox. I repeat the characterization is great but the story suffers greatly from it. The constant perspective changes don't help either. We get insight into the characters but the story suffers from it.

Okabe is the villain for being too cowardly to fight for humanity's hapiness rather than his own.
When the Aleph dies who will protect time and space from unknowing human intereference? Leskinen wanted us to evolve. It would have been hard. People would have to die but it was what was best for humanity. Leskinen would have secured our futures even if he were remembered through all eternity as the bad guy.
Bless God-emporer Leskinen

The shit he gets from Beta Suzuha, Maho, and Daru when he fucking punches him for stating the truth that scene was completely fucking out of character for Daru and if anyone, Maho, while she's great deserved the punch more than Okabe at the time was completely uncalled for.

Half this shit wouldnt be an issue if they had given him time to process what he had gone through instead of forcing him/reminding him at every turn that he was the "chosen" one and had a responsibility to set things straight.

I agree that while it "was" his job to stop calamity reminding him every fucking second after he'd gone from hell and back and is still in fucking hell that he had to "stop being a faggot and just do it" and have everyone else try an project their own feelings on to him was just wrong.

Mayuri's method with the slap to get him to calm down and to actually process what was going on was objectively the best answer to everything. Everyone else can fuck off.

I just realized that they never did explain why Okabe's memory backup only had the first half of January and that can't even be explained via a time paradox as he's never traveled into the future

>>
>>151786966
You want to go prove how there isn't a canon set of worldlines that manifested then?
>>
>>151786751
As long as people are alive Leskinen is on top. He wants everyone to have free acess to the stiener and to the time technology. Is is pretty much Leto II'ing the shit out of earth and trying to advance humanity to the point that they won't be so easily destroyed by some errant time traveller. The fact that Okabe was the Aleph and not someone more sinister was a stroke of luck, but what happens 1000 years after he dies in S;G? Time could be ruined easily or S;G rewritten in an instant. Only Leskinen's solution is the right one in the long term. Okabe is Paul, a better person who cares about those dear to him but also a coward who was unable to rise to his ultimate destiny.

As >>151786487 said, the characterizations were great but holy shit did they go no where in making it significant to the overall plot. Nothing, prepare for Leskinen to be best boy and finally show Okabe the light.
They are setting up a load of preamble for the importance of reading stiener in zero along with both Leskinen's interest in it and the different ways people can manifest it i.e Okabe's reading, Chie's dreaming and Kurisu's perfect Stiener.

Alpha Kurisu wouldn't be capable of knowing about Maho's involvement in the S;G line so intimately. Further, not a single alpha line existed to the point where Amadeus was. For traditional S;G to trigger a change shift needs to occur at the same time as your conciousness swaps.
Amadeaus remembered details about S;G was well as hinting at Maho's role in Zero lines. It wasn't traditional RS but 0 establishes that there are heaps of types.
RS- Okabe rewrite
Jet lag steiner- Where people (like Faris END) remember their past worldline
Dream Stiener- Where people experience events of other timelines episodically in their sleep (chie and Russia/dead mayuri)
AI stiener- seemingly syncronised awareness of both the current and other wordlines. Details unclear.

Just finished the brief jaunt to Alpha. I'm unsure what to feel about it. On the one hand, it feels a bit like a cheap emotional hit given apparent lack of relevance to Zero's main plots. On the other, it's a damn effective cheap hit.
>>
>>151789534
Zero is just as pointless as IT is all rewritten. The whole point is that it's more story and it is in theory integral to the whole story. Just like with alternate routes and whatifs more story allows us to understand characters and phenomena in ways we otherwise wouldn't have (see new cast and RS features in zero)
>>
>>151789339
You're just describing different strengths of Reading Steiner, not types. Alpha worldlines feature events that go up until at the very least 2036. That worldline comment doesn't make sense anyway because everything is reconstructed in a shift. I don't know why you think that Kurisu couldn't have been going off context after the Reading Steiner episode in regards to Maho. The Steins Gate comment was just an expression of hope. There is no "AI Steiner".
>>
>>151789534
Depends on if it is there to make a new VN where it actually does become important. Just like how it was important for Okabe to go though 0 to get to the Steins;Gate world line. For example there could be something we are all missing that then ends up making sense when it is pointed out.
>>
>>151789656
Obviously it was a mock name, mate. I am just saying that it is a manifestation of Stiener that hadn't been seen before.
Further, no, just because an alpha line existed doesn't mean she had traditional RS. That's not how RS works.
It has more to do with the jet lag style stiener than it has to do with okabe RS.

Again, that's just a matter of strength, not type. Reading Steiner is Reading Steiner.
>>
>>151790322
Except that it isn't. One is regaining specific memories from a prior worldline, one is uninterupted memories from every shift from the point of shifting and the other is memories you have and have not experienced appearing as dreams (the dreams of Mayuri dying had her with Okabe despite her not actually being nearby).
While you can make a case for Amadeaus and Faris having the same effects you cannot for them an okabe or the dreamers and Okabe.
It isn't exclusively a matter of degree.
>>
>>151790506
It is literally the difference in quality of how clear the memories are retained.
If they are purely subconscious, if they are hazy deja vu, or if they are perfect clarity, it is all the same phenomenon. It just requires minor brain damage to have it in stronger forms.
"Perfect" Reading Steiner (what Okabe has) is just Reading Steiner (what everyone has) ramped to ultimate strength due to critical fever.
>>
>>151790667
Okabe's isn't even perfect. Amadaeus was exhibiting much clearer understanding than he was. Further, Okabe loses memory and cannot access the full load of memories from a world line without wholly living it despite the past and future being constructed instantaneously in a time shift.
Okabe's stiener is far from perfect.

As far as your brain damage hypothesis goes, critical fever sounds retarded but the trigger of having kurisu's memory being deleted makes me think it has some merit. That said, it's still 100% speclation unless you have some actual proof/supporting evidence.

It's a perfect recollection of the previous world line states, which means none of his memories are overwritten at all. That's what it means to have perfect Reading Steiner. Reading Steiner is the property of memories surviving the reformat of the timeline.
>As far as your brain damage hypothesis goes, critical fever sounds retarded but the trigger of having kurisu's memory being deleted makes me think it has some merit. That said, it's still 100% speclation unless you have some actual proof/supporting evidence.

It doesn't explain the phenomena at all. I think it would honestly have more to do with changes being enacted in that time period, much like how RS scrubs were hospitalised during the soviet drama.

>Why exactly do you think they even brought up the fact that he had a mysterious month-long fever that nearly killed him at the turn of the millennium in S;G?
The way I saw it, the reason why it was so bad at that time was because 2000 was the point where literally all world lines converged for a time which played havoc with the Reading Steiner ability. I think Okabe even said something along the lines that the feeling was similar.

I don't see how they'd be able to flesh that out into another 20+ hour VN though. He knows their location in time, so all he needs to do is travel there and pick them up. They could pad it out by making the time machine malfunction, causing him to travel to various historical time periods, but that wouldn't really be Steins;Gate at that point.

Finished Recursive Egg or whatever Kagari's route was called. The buildup to the route was IMO the best so far, but after I avoided the call that meant I was locked onto her route for certain it felt a lot more meandering with no real payoff. Some interesting answers, but not the tightest storytelling. I have a feeling that Promised Rinascimento is going to be fantastic though, assuming that it builds off the things that seemed to be implied before the worldline shift.

Before I get to that I'm doing Vega and Altair though, but haven't gotten far enough into that to be sure. I have to say, binging this VN might have been a bad idea. If I wasn't using a summary page before switching to each route, I'd have totally been lost with regards to which events happen in which routes and preludes.

Suzuha was actively avoiding Yuki most of the time, and that one time they did have a heart to heart, she was a bit off.

Really? Obviously he's in the wrong overall, since we know on a meta level what needs to be done, but he hasn't been near enough of an asshole or even pathetic enough to justify the general treatment he gets-especially since everyone else's plan basically boils down to 'try harder to save Kurisu' rather than anything that would actually solve the issue.

Nobody has even suggested the 'trick the world' thing or tried to brainstorm ways to bypass the laws of convergence, which makes Okabe's stance pretty reasonable IMO, given his huge trauma.
>>
>>151800281
Yeah but he also actively tries to sabotage anyone else's attempts to do something, when he isn't taking up the mantle himself.
>>

Don't the attempts of the others basically hinge around 'Okabe plz' though? Obviously that's because of Reading Steiner, but even so I can't think of a single attempt by any other heroic character to do anything time travel related that isn't dependent on Okabe's input.

I find it weird how little of Leskinen was exposed despite the long ass time we spent with him in the game. In the end we never did really know what the whole deal with him was, only fragments of it.

They never did make it clear just how much of him was a facade and how much was real. It couldn't have been all an act considering not only the fact that he seemed genuinely sad about brainwashing maho and also the fact that it's just way too much time he spent with all the characters. It felt like they just went "HEY HE WAS A BADDIE ALL ALONG LMAO" and didn't bother to expand much on him beyond that.

Also, I cleared the game before yesterday and browsed the archive for past threads and stuff, and saw someone asking who was "morally worst", Reyes or Leskinen. It's pretty close but morally I'd say that Reyes is worse because, while they're both on board the whole brainwashing train, Leskinen wants things dealt with peacefully while Reyes murders a whole room full of people to get what she wants.

As people though, reyes just fucking sucks, she's a psycho bitch.
>>
>>151800455
Yuki doesn't respond positively to Suzuha's request to look after Daru, presumably due her feelings of guilt.
>>
>>151800478
The impression I got was that Leskinen as of the events of the game was not really a facade, just obscuring his darker motives. He seems pretty sad about Maho and claims his liking of Okabe was genuine too in Stigma.

I think that from the brief coverage we get of his future actions, he jumps off the slippery slope though and his reasonably good intentions are eventually twisted by the lengths he goes to.
>>
Leskinen was the good guy after all
>>
>>151800392
Well, presumably Daru and Maho's time leap machine wouldn't have anything to do with him.
>>
>>151800649
It actually would have, I'm reading that route atm. They explicitly say that they need to talk to Okabe to work out what to do next, having hit a wall, with Maho outright asking him what to do with regards to the compression stuff. Daru also really strongly implies he was planning on asking Okabe even if Okabe hadn't worked it out himself, so I disagree there.
>>
Also, Kagari is a monster in combat. Kinda want to see her vs Tennouji, since despite her feats she's fled him before and Tennouji is similarly hyped for badassery.

Right, finished the True End. Overall I liked S;G 0 a lot more than I expected but I feel it was definitely carried by the heavy investment in the characters and world. Partially to their credit, since characterisation remained superb in the game for the most part, but even so a more coherent plot would have been nice-not so much that it didn't make sense, since I can piece together most of the issues with some thought, but the flow left a lot to be desired in my opinion. True Ending was satisfying enough but I do feel that continuing to observe the 0-setting after it ceased to be the active worldline felt a bit pointless in several ways.

Overall still really enjoyed the ride and I do think it made me appreciate the first game even more by fleshing out the characters.

Yeah no, you're stupid. Besides, world war 3 mightn't be the worst thing that could happen in terms of post 2025 convergences. We still don't know S;G's future or even zero's future in the last six decades of the 2000's or beyond that. You're thinking too small scale. This is a long term win.
0kabe could have helped him but all he wants is to get Kurisu back.

My point was more that Okabe or Kurisu still have the opportunity to contribute to humanity at some point in the future.

Beyond a world ending event (which I'm sure is completely plausible) I don't think it gets much worse than WW3 + SERN dystopia.

Also, isn't Kurisu a much more important contribution to humanity? She literally invented time travel and AI.

There are two requirements from 0 to get okabe to open the S;G world line. First is sending the MMS. Second is taking Vega Mayuri to the scene so she can slap S;okabe and get him to muster up more courage.

0kabe finding Vega Mayuri at the end is important as fuck.

Fucking rude. Further no, she is and she isn't. At this point Okabe is the most important person in existance due to his Stiener.
Were he and Leskinen capable of developing functional Stiener in others then Kurisu would go back to being the most important individual. Until that point the day Okabe dies is the day time is completely unguarded and nobody can fix it anymore.
Think Stigma but along any and all attractor fields. Given that humanity is set to continue there will eventually be another point in which time is explained even if Okabe stifles it (which is S;okabe's current outlook). It's basically really irresponsible.

There is in that he avoids timetravel like the plauge and thinks the whole thing is better left alone.
After the events of S;G he has massive timetravel fatigue and is just hoping that he can live with himself in the new worldline. Zero gives him a shot at S;G but he is still the same person as he was when he re-entered beta.
Okabe also generally doesn't share his shit with other people, not even his friends. This was alleviated in Zero but Zero got wiped.

Well it is and it isn't. It's supposition. The reality is people tend to change minimally unless there are stressful events. If S;G is as good for okabe as he has been hoping he is unlikely to ever reconsider his stance on Time and even if he does experience bad events he would be VERY cautious about altering the worldline given how precarous S;Gline is.
>>
>>151808460
I guess that's about right. I don't want to say much more about Zero to avoid spoiling it, but basically it's about the Okabe who sends the video message to Okabe instructing him how to save Kurisu. It's pretty good though.

The movie takes place on the Steins;Gate world line (I believe?) so it's not a bad route per se. It's just kind of extra though.
>>
>>151808537

The writer did confirm that both they and the worldline they create, will have a happy end though.

It's arguably the best ending outside of the True ending, or perhaps even better than that if you take the movie into account.

This is cool. I want a citation. If the worldline is happy then quite frankly, ro me, that's S;G getting blown the fuck out. Suzu was the right choice. Okabe never had to be a cunt who decided whether Mayuri or Kurisu should live. He never had to take back people's dreams.

Fucking amazing.

>>151808661

I'm willing to bet Okabe fights hard enough to get a good result in every ending, even Faris and Lukako and Mayuri ends. People are always so gloomy in assuming the fate cannot be changed but Okabe is still alive and willing to alter the future (make a divergence meter to send to himself) until the world he seeks is brought about.
>>
>>151808859
>I'm willing to bet Okabe fights hard enough to get a good result
Yes, it's called the True End.
Any worldline with a divergence meter is inherently a bad one. If everything was all peachy he wouldn't bother making it and it certainly would not have made its way back to 2010.
>>
>>151808758

>citation

Sadly, I can only find the wiki page now, which is a pretty piss poor link. I do recall reading a translated interview at some point in the past though. He talked about Kurisu really liking ramen, but not knowing how to eat with chopsticks and wanting a fork, and about how Suzuha and Okabe will definitely be happy together and create a happy timeline.
>>
>>151808888
The thing you're mistaking is that there's certainly other good ends to reach. It's a silly assertion that only one world line could possibly have a happy end.
>Any worldline with a divergence meter is inherently a bad one
And it also means that Okabe has not given up the fight or else he would not make it. This is exactly what I mean by this pointless gloominess. It doesn't end there, they have a story of their own that will lead to a "Steins Gate" of their own.
>>
>>151808931
I've heard the 'happy together' thing but the happy timeline is a new one as far as I'm aware.
>>
Reminder that the absolute best timeline is the one where Okabe just spams random d-mails until he enters the love comedy attractor field.
>>
>>151808818
Hard to say. All I can offer is supposition but this is what I think:
What we know is that symptoms are more pronounced in some lines than they are in others. Lines where the changes were less severe or less personal we see less symptoms. Further, unlike RS the dreams aren't chronological. Katsumi was getting dreams about Mayuri's death that she wasn't even there for and had occured long ago. Similarly we've seen Okabe experience Stiener dreams about him and Mayrui being trapped in time. The dreams are tied to large deviations from the current world line that haven't been initiated by yourself or in your awareness, they don't rewrite memories and they appear to more commonly follow personally emotional events.
Further we know that the symptoms are a result of Stiener rather than the cause of it and occur AFTER a large shift has occured
It SHOULD awake in lines with a lot of alterations in their future like CERN

>>
>>151809087
The real trick is how to expand the stiener into a more concentrated form or a different type. Given that Okabe never had incongruent memories of his childhood it stands to reason that he didn't have traditional reading stiener activate during his illness has a child and had something more akin to Katsumi.
What made the leap from basic package stiener to distinct non-linear time perception? Who knows? It may potentially be tied to affecting time yourself actively which most people with those little stieners never had a chance to do.
>>
>>151809148

He's talking about the spin-off in the Delta attractor field.

It's a romantic comedy, where none of the horrible shit happens and time travel is invented without SERN ever getting their hands on it or causing world war 3.

>>
>>151809187
If I had to guess, it's because the timeline was not being altered but they were passing through a major turning point. Maybe due to Okabe's direct involvement of events and the perception of the various worldline shifts occurring sequentially it was manageable, whereas to somebody outside of those events it effectively all happened at once.
I'm just spitballing here, I'm probably wrong.
>>
>>151808843
It adds new rules. For example:
Vega and True0 are different timelines. 0kabe is sent from T0 using Daru's experimental machine that can track other machines.
Furhter, the MMS was sent AFTER he left which SHOULD have meant that the timeline was rewritten as Okabe altered the events of the S;G-0 connection by adding Mayuri.

Multiple times the idea of 'connecting' your future to another one has been mentioned an elaborated. Naturally it was first introduced in S;G true with the MMS that wouldn't be visible until he was connected. Before people pretend that this is just Suzu linking the timelines consider this:
Beta natural, a line where okabe COULD NOT have performed the actions in zero due to not having the trauma of alpha, contains the MMS.
Zero adds in a lot of cheeky technology and new time rules that people miss out on if they aren't paying attention.
>>
>>151809279

Yeah, like I said, it's a piss poor reference, and I'm an anon on an image board, so not any more trustworthy.

Good luck finding the interview though.
>>
>>151809357
>timeline was not being altered
This is cannonically not true. I was thinking about how 'unaltered' Beta standard was recently and then I noticed something.
In one of the 0 routes (I think it was Kagari but can't recall) they discover this paradox song right? Thing is though 0kabe was able to help in the investigation using memories from his past. Given how RS works 0kabe's past is the same as S;okabe's past, that is to say basic beta.
Kagarii was still fucking with him in basic beta despite 0 being impossible.

The only answers are that
a) recursive time works on a margin
b) beta literally cannot exist without okabe running into alpha and in a werid way no one is altering time. Okabe was always deterministically meant to do these things.
c) 0 had shit writing

>>151809518
I'm picking option C. The original made more or less total sense within its rules.
It's funny, for all the bitching and moaning we do about the way that the movie breaks the rules, the scene of Kurisu going back and kissing shota Okabe causes less problems than the new copy of it with Kagari going back and causing the song to loop.
>>
>>151809630
Well it does and it doesn't. 0 is filled with this like this see:
>>151809381

Original S;G constantly introduced new rules and over wrote old ones as intentionally wrong or suzu being ignorant. I don't see why other worldlines shouldn't learn far more about the intricacies of time than CERN who just wanted to kill a bunch of people then chill out as world rulers.
Like all science it seems natural that things that seemed right are actually wrong and that new discoveries are made down that line.

>>151809521

There is literally no way to say that with any certainty. Okabe was a little not yet born in 1991 to ask him, he was directly involved with the events of 2010 and he was suffering from symptoms in 2000. Those are all the points at which attractor fields got fucky that we are aware of.
>>
>>151809521
That still would cause a world line shift because it would mean Okabe doesn't live to 2025.

I wish they just went with redrawing Kurisu all together. her design sticks out like a sore thumb when placed next to the other characters, and A.I Kurisu having artwork that reflects the style of S;G0 more only makes it extra jarring.

The thing is Amadeus Kurisu was drawn in S;G0's artstyle, and this is supposed to be how Kurisu is supposed to look in the game. So seeing her old sprite pop up randomly is just jarring.

Same thing with Mayuri, the art shift from her new to old sprite was really immersion breaking.

>>
>>151814231
"consistency" is subjective though, I thought that Faris' old sprite fit in perfectly with the new ones but there's people saying it's jarring. Same with Kurisu, I think that maybe it'd be jarring if they had her switch from old sprite to new sprite in the same conversation but they only use the old sprite in flashbacks or when returning to alpha worldline so you don't even see the transition.

Hard to ask for "consistency" when freaking Huke is the artist anyway, one of the most inconsistent bastards I've ever seen.

>>151814172

>>
>>151814398
>"consistency" is subjective though,
No it is fucking not.

Consistency is making sure that all the character designs look like they belong together. Kurisus old sprite sticks out like a sore thumb and so does Mayuris, they should have redrawn them to match the style of Steins;Gate 0.

You can argue that you like Kurisus old sprites more, and that's fine. Many do including myself, but just slapping them into S;G0 was just laziness on 5pbs part and you know it.
>>
>>151814172
>>151814339
Which means that Huke should put nu-kurisu in the bin. That's what happens when people get cocky and think they can improve perfection.

Or, they should have used the nu-kurisu sprite only for Amadeus and not the scenes where Maho is remembering Kurisu. Which is interesting when you talk about "consistency" considering that the outfit that they used in the CG where Kurisu is sitting on a table with Maho is different from the outfit used in the nu-kurisu splice, so it would have actually been more consistent if they had used the old sprite.

Nu-kurisu was a mistake.
>>
>>151808612

Reminder that the movie is not canon. Chiyomaru had no involvement. It was similar to Phenogram. Just the writers trying their own spin on S;G's mechanics and doing a subpar job.
>>

Thing is, I just don't think that at all. Mayuri's does a bit, but apart from comparing Kurisu's old and new sprites together, I don't think the old sprite clashes with anything at all. If you put old kurisu next to new daru and new mayuri, I wouldn't see anything wrong there at all when it comes to art style clash.

Are you blind? She's jarringly different. It's almost as if a different artist drew her.

Look man we get it, you like Kurisus old design better. Most of us do, but lets not go full retard about this. Your argument should be "They should have kept the old artstyle for the game" since then at least her design would fit with the others.

But that's not the case, just about everyone has been redrawn aside from human Kurisu and certain Mayuri sprites, and the reason behind that decision is just out of pure laziness.

Well typically when you're commissioned by a company to provide artwork for their game, you save all the psds on an external hard drive, and maybe give them a copy for themselves.

>>151814686
>It's a 6 year old game, chances are the photoshop files are long gone.

Huke has been involved with Steins;Gate for 6 years, always doing promo art and whatnot for it. The franchise is still active so they're going to hang onto that shit.
>>
>>151815005
Honestly they should have just kept the new Kurisu sprite exclusively for Amadeus and not tried to shove it elsewhere.

>>
>>151813827

She went from white to a light olive which is still cute but her eyes look all faded from the touch up

The sparkly stuff was weird on the hair but I chalked it up to Huke being a snowflake with his art style, now she just has a grey circle on her head which I assume is shit shading of some sort.

She's still olev through and through tho, no doubt about it
