Trick question: The Future Trunks arc was terrible.
You'd be forgiven for thinking it was good if you only watched the first half, but by the time Goku Black's identity is revealed everything falls apart and becomes an awful stupid slog of bullshit culminating in a downright comically bad ending that was played off for laughs.

It had a lot of good characters but it also had a villian that was an actual threat to the main cast. The main problem with super is that theirs never a villian that brings danger to the show like dragon ball or dragon ball z because you always have fucking Beerus and Whis around. Don't get me wrong I like both shier characters but they take away any danger this show has because of their presence. In Future trunks case. The gods and angles that serve them aren't there to fix everything.

Long answer:
Because it depicts the struggle of Mankind( represented as Trunks) to fight against the fatality, against what cannot be fought against, the gods. It shows that the shows. Us humans are evolving and little by little we are reaching the status and the power of gods (Goku winning against a god and reaching a godlike power) we can also use the same weapons that the gods use against them (potara) and that nothing can stop us (Mirai Trunks and Mai surviving despite their timeline being erased).
Oh and Vegetto.

Trunks arc was a fucking disappoiment. After the first two episodes Toei made pointless filler after filler. Then when they finally arrived to the future they got their asses kicked several times because they were too stupid to think a plan. Then Garu Stu Trunks defeated Zumasu with the power of friendship a la MLP. Then Zumasu threw an universal tatrum.
It was pathetic.
