The TV show is fairly rated, not over- or underrated, solid 6/10.

The movie is severely overrated mainly because it was just emotional pandering to the audience, so everyone ate that shit up. The writing was trash, structure dreadful, ending corny and animation below par for KyoAni. The best thing about it was the direction of Yamada, otherwise it is the worst thing Kyoto Animation has produced.
