There's the possibility that they do learn over time and therefore could mellow out or at least have a more realistic approach to their programming. Shalltear and like you said Aura exhibited some real actual change in the latest volume, and Albedo has in some side chapters and things as well. The problem is Ainz isn't helping any more balanced relationships along because he's convinced a boss has to act like some idealized CEO that all the employees look up to as this untouchable figure who never makes mistake and that they can't hang out with outside of work.

I'm still not totally sure how this is logistically going to work out unless they create some sort of post-scarcity resource ultramagic.

Goblins alone breed like fucking rabbits in litters and Enri has 5000 of the damn things along with all the other ones annexed into Agu's tribe. Lizardmen (as far as we've seen) can walk on dry land but don't prefer it (they probably get excessively dry skin outside of extended periods).
Human cities alone are probably zoonotic disease hellholes for non-human races since humans pack into cities so tightly. The dryads and treants Ainz has probably hate pollution from cities and won't tolerate too much civilization of any sort too close to their groves. On top of this, the rapid population explosion of the Tob Forest is probably going to have the entire place deforested within two generations unless it somehow magically has a way to regenerate itself. Mare can't handle all the druid stuff in Ainz's empire; he's only one guy.

Ainz's utopia is going to require every fucking mental resource Nazarick has to maintain due to each species needing different things to be happy.

Most of what we know about Aura is usually seen through Ainz' no-incest POV. Like, we don't know why Aura sat on his lap. Of all the possibilities Ainz picks the innocuous one ("she's being possessive, like a daughter of her father"). Ainz also assumes after noticing Aura/Mare watching Zaryusu and Crusch fucking that they're too young for sex, but we get no narration on their reactions.

The forest/Volume 11 flying scene has Aura get flustered when the conversation seems to drift toward her being a bride someday.

Basically, I'm saying don't be surprised if Aura joins the Ainzbowl too.

I think there's a pretty strong irony in Ainz screwing with Albedo's settings. It makes me wonder if in some far-reaching 4D chess move Tabula actually intended Ainz to edit her backstory.

If Albedo really was a slut, it would compromise her loyalty and her ability to effectively manage Nazarick. I wouldn't trust my company's vice president if she's fucking the presidents of rival companies, for example.

Moreover, she'd still be just as obsessed with Ainz. Ainz has pretty much noticed the other girls (especially Shalltear and Neuronist) are no less crazy about him.

Being a yandere has focused her other qualities pretty effectively. My only question is if Ainz interfering with her is why she's loyal, rather than the content of it. Because, technically speaking Albedo is now written by both Tabula AND Ainz.

I feel like people are too hard on the anime.

It was adapted by Madhouse, had a decent budget, and a good director. I enjoyed the hell out of it, read the novels, and still felt Madhouse did a good job after rewatching it.

My only legit complains are, it needs a better opening, and it should have been released as an OVA like Lodoss. That would have given the director more freedom to include the novel material and pacing.

In canon, that would be the absolute top of the top of the top. Even Ainz only had one full set of Divine gear for himself. There's more for the other members of the guild, but you have to remember that they have to get ultrarare drops of things useful to that member's build, as well as do a fair amount of crafting on the side to optimize whatever piece of the set as well to that player.

So it would be a complete and utter ass and nearly impossible considering Yggdrasil's designs to have hot-swapping Divine-tier loadouts. Legendary tier or something afterwards would be probably more possible and feasible, but considering custom optimization was a large part of the equipment meta from what Maruyama's described, it was probably best just to make one awesome loadout that would probably be good for mostly everything because you're supposed to build it to buff your strengths and lower weaknesses specific to you.

Most of it is utter objectivity and rationality. There's evil results, but we know absolutely that internally Ainz isn't doing stuff that is harmful for shits. He does it because he wants to protect his "family," and as well those he takes a liking to.

You could call him evil if he was actually a tyrannical despot rather than just an ambivalent dictator (of which isn't necessarily evil in a more primitive feudal society where nobles have no particular checks to their power).

However, the use if "Karma" as a system by Maruyama makes far more sense than the nine DnD Alignments. It leaves open why a PC would do the things they do; Ainz himself is perfectly rational (by nature of being a lich). To those he protects, he's their good godking and benevolent champion; to JUST and other losers, he's evil because he's fucking up their shit.

1. Ainz terrified the Sunlight Scripture before lying to them that he was going to show them mercy, instead torturing them horribly and allowing Demiurge to experiment with them eating one another. There was no educational benefit to any of that once they learned only Nigun knew anything.
2. Ainz tortured Clem before killing her as personal revenge for her slaughtering the Swords of Darkness.. Compare to how he killed Gazef as quickly and painlessly as possible, and did so in a way consistent with Gazef's wishes.
3. Ainz baited the Baharuth workers and then acted like they had invaded Nazarick unprovoked. Heavy Masher and Foresight were subject to horrible torture, and Arche fell into absolute despair before she died. She was also the only member of Foresight to actually be killed.

These are the low-hanging fruit examples, but there are others like sending the zombie troll and his terrified minions to attack Carne and putting the residents at real risk, just to test Lupu (all the monsters ended up slaughtered). He can be fair, but he's not above being evil for his own satisfaction and desires.

That comes with the territory of being an undead lich.

If you think about it, the guild that eventually became the Six Great Gods is pretty impressive itself. No, a guild that has only 6 members is not noteworthy in YGGDRASIL, but they had a World Item and they had a bunch of other powerful items in their possession. They also had the intelligence and restraint to found a nation, unlike the 8GK.
