Who is the best Hibikek and why is it Asuka?
Kumiko because she's the fluffiest.
Kumiko will always be the best because of fluff.
How can she keep getting away with it?
What was the point of this scene?
I just finished marathoning both seasons, but I couldn't point out the meaning.
>shoes barely fit
>here Asuka, let me tie them up tight for you without asking
She basically triggered Asuka as she reminded her of her mother. Asuka's whole thing is hiding who she is and internalizing her anger, so only the viewer and Kumiko (who sees through people) got to see how livid she actually was.
It was one of the hints that Asuka has deep seated issues, that she's more than just a bitch on the inside.
I caught up with the last episodes today. I didn't read the threads but I imagine /a/ was butt mad because they omitted the performance (which they kinda had to) but I thought the ending was really great.
I loved how Kumiko looked up to Asuka and at least in the end Asuka looked like she really grew up and became a more open and loving person.
>they'll have to approach this soon enough.
The show is over and in the end they never got even remotely close to each other romantically. But hey, you can write a fanfic about it or something.
I didn't say disorder, I said she has issues. Just about everyone does, especially in this show.
She's still pissed at him for what he did last year. They get together in the LN, but I don't remember when.
I figured they didn't bother showing it because it would just be the same shit from nationals. S2 was an entertaining watch, but it just went through dumb drama of week phases. At least the drama in S1 was believable and somewhat realistic. There was also less music and Kumiko was a bit too melodramatic for my liking compared to her regular demeanor.
Do Shuuichi fags not realize it's them that are constantly wearing goggles, overinterpreting every scene and crawls back to "muh LN" when all else fails? The show may well not have any sequel to resolve that part and it didn't need to touch Kumiko's romantic life since she got plenty of character development this season.
Both seasons take place in their freshman year. She asked him if he was coming over for dinner in front of his friends and he said "don't talk to me, ugly".
He basically panicked; he's liked her for a while and they grew up together. He's been on her shit list ever since.
It's just a revolutionary new way of telling a romance story. Keep the "love interest's" screentime to the bare minimum to the point where he almost becomes a background character. Make the girl seem not interested in the guy at all until the very last episode when.... she still shows no interest in him at all and goes on to confess her love to some senpai she admires. Truly, this was the greatest love story never told.
she had his hairpin on her music sheet stand during nationals. That's more effort to carry around, take out, and put on there than actually just wearing it in my opinion. Pretty much symbolism for her relationship with him. Doesn't want him or anyone else to see her around wearing it
Carrying around a hairpin is not much effort, anon. It's a hairpin. But I agree, it was a nice gesture showing that she has finally forgiven him and is now ready to go back to the platonic friendship they once had.
It's more effort than clipping it in your hair once, that's my point. She wanted to appreciate his gift to her, but she's too stubborn to actually wear it and give him the satisfaction, so she had to put the extra effort into being all incognito about it.
what? she clipped the hairpin to the music sheet once and that's it. since she got it when they were traveling to the concert it's not that much of an effort at all and it certainly takes less than having to wear it every morning and explain to your female friends why you picked up that hairpin. stop over analyzing shit.
I noticed that too, but Kaori was at the pool with her, they sat next to each other at the Senior reception, and Kaori knows her well enough that she know Asuka's mother's favorite food.
I think Kaori likes Asuka more than Asuka likes her, but they're still friends.
She was ranting about Asuka's specialness to Kaori during Asuka's absence. Also the reason why she accepted the solo part Taki was offering her. he didn't like how the others depended too much on Asuka as if she was special. Also, can't get over how she landed the presidency like a hand-me-down.
I took away that she thought Asuka wasn't all she was cracked up to be, since she knew her better than everyone else.
I thought she didn't want to be President either, she wanted Asuka like everyone else.
Well, I never liked Reina too much, but it seems to me that Kumirei shippers have taken it fairly well all things considered. At least they have had plenty of cute moments from season 1 and early season 2 to remember.
Shuufags literally got nothing out of this show other than crushed hopes, anger and resentment, to the point where they now have to pretend a fucking hairpin they show for 2 seconds was some sign of eternal love. In a way, that hairpin truly symbolized her relationship with Shuuichi, it got about the same amount of development and screentime.
>Another shipfaggotry thread.
I swear, I wish all of you were gassed so we could have a quality thread for once.
Why do so many contrarians suddenly pretend shipping characters that are close to each other is somehow a recent, annoying phenomenon and all would be better if only we could go back to... what exactly? I have never seen a show of this type that doesn't have shipping.
Can you imagine faggots like this in K-on threads from 4 or so years ago? "Stop it, Yui and Azusa don't like each other, take off your yuri goggles you dumb shipfags you are ruining quality discussion about music and drinking tea!!"
YOU are actually the recent, unnatural annoyance that has befallen these threads.
Dont forget the generates who got baited hook like and sinker in episode 1, got pointlessly hyped over a 'controversial' scene and proceeded to wet themselves over a preview. Comedy gold.
>Asuka was the real MC all along.
Not surprised, Kyoani realised that Kumiko was a mistake and fixed it.
>2nd day after final episode airs
>no more proper thread title
Guess it's the end now
>proceeded to wet themselves over a preview.
I want these two naked in my bed
It hurts me to see the threads dead already. I just don't want it to end. I want S3 so badly
>ywn see her heavy autism in action again.
Just kill me already.
Delet this, now.
I love Reina!
Reina's autism is cute but too bad she's not the cutest autist
>you will never be the type of person Reina would be interested in
What's your problem?
MIDORI CURRY DAISUKI
>she will never be real
Reminder that drills is best girl, shes the one who won Chad's heart.
If it is S3 someday...
How would you develop Reina?
She MIGHT just be the best Kyoani girl ever.
What do you mean "might"?
There's no doubt.
She needs to fight Kumiko for some reason (maybe Taki getting too close to Kumiko or something), or lose her musical motivation for a while, or find some trumpet kouhai who is even better than her, or transform into a musical Hitler for her band section, creating conflict.
Imma learn to play it on bass. Does anyone have the sheet music so I don't have to learn by ear?
The thing is, Reina could be hot but her personality seems really far apart from Taki's ex-wife, there is nothing more than her body that she can use to seduce Taki, and that's not enough.
But could you imagine if Taki starts to being atracted by Kumiko's charms? Not in a romantic way but, at least in a way that will frustrate Reina.
I can't see Reina having a decent development that doesn't involve turning her into a antagonist of some kind. That would be pretty great.
She'd be clueless about what she's doing but I'd pat her head for a start
The one piece they play the most is original, Crescent Moon Dance.
The other one the play is Wind of Provence
Some of the other ones you hear parts of are Rydeen, Funiculi Funicula, Scheherazade, and The Fairest Of The Fair March
She won the fluffbowl, of course she is best girl.
I will miss this anime.
What are you expecting in Hibike:
Is Oboe the best Kyoani autist or is it still Yuki?
We did it, lads.
>more cute Mizore & Nozomi scenes
>more cute Natsuki & Yuuko scenes
>some kind of major arc for Reina
>Kumiko being senpai with new members
What else needs to happen in S3?
Season 1: Kumiko learns from Reina about having a dream and not being so cynical she never even tries.
Season 3: Reina learns from Kumiko that changing yourself and what you want as you grow up isn't just running away, and that stubbornly insisting you'll never change can be.
I think she's probably the best KyoAni character design ever. Her beauty immediately made me fall in love but her contrived personality made me dislike her pretty quickly in S1 and her development in S2 didn't do enough to bring me back around.
I really fell in love with buchou this season and I'm not even sure why
She's just such a sweetheart. She would make a wonderful girlfriend.
Asuka is a public menace.
She just can't help herself.
In 2D pretty fantastic I'd imagine. Went to a maid-café once though, it was pure fucking autism from the moment I stepped inside and I could not wait to get the fuck out of there so Roboe IRL would be another matter.
After realizing Kumiko is a dyke, Shuichi will learn how to move on with the help of the girl that has literally been by his side together with him the whole year.
Shoe just needs to take some time for himself to grow into the man we all know he can be.
It all makes sense when you realize Asuka becomes a surrogate big sister to Kumiko.
It's not about insulting or not, and she sure isn't my waifu (not even my in-series waifu), but being in the contrarian tier only made sense while first season was airing, not anymore.
>see this lost oboe at the school corridor
/u/ should be happy and grateful that at least it ended with a /u/ pairing even though it's not the one they're looking for.
>Hetfags still this mad
>I wanna learn oboe but shit's expensive
Guess I'll just pick up a cheap brass/woodwind
You learn by playing the instrument you have borrowed or rented. You don't consider purchasing an expensive instrument outright until you are really fucking into it and/or come across an insane deal on a secondhand piece.
winter is the comfiest season
I felt robbed that this was in the PV for the final episode, I thought Kumiko and Reina might be going on some wintry adventure, instead it was just 4.5 seconds of a montage showing time passing, and they were just going to school.
Reina is love
I hope it'll last a bit more, I know some people wouldn't post or lurk within 3 or 4 days of airing. I got a couple more new random edits I'll post in a day or so, still owe some anon those tarot charts
I can imagine an arc where Reina('s family becomes poor and Taki helps them. Reina will begin her solo career. A schism will happen in the band again bit it will be about differing opinions on how the piece should be played to to get gold. Maybe the new talented students want to completely take over the band since they are more experienced in competition.
So after rewatching all 27 episodes, I just can't pinpoint this character's role. Nothing was explained.
>gets tricked into playing, has ugly pale skin
>hangs around an angry eupho and a clingy contrabass
>really useless in the classroom
>can't read music
>may or may not be gay
>probably imagines going on dates with schoolboys
What the fuck is this character? Who is her boyfriend supposed to be?
Can we stop bullying Hazuki and go back to bully Ribbons please?!
I have a hard time imagining Reina being into Shuuichi after she chided him so much for being such a weak-ass beta
Learn to sing, it's much cheaper
She's dead, anon.
Nozomi's dead, anon.
They're all dead.
some, just can't appreciate greatness
I wonder if Tomoyo Kurosawa knows about these compilations...
I hope she does. It'll cheer her up while she's busy
not getting roles.
Seriously, why is her resume so tiny?
One thing I noticed we didn't get much of this season was Kumiko saying something rude without thinking and then covering her mouth in embarrassment. A shame, I liked those.
Is this a bonus episode?
Has a character ever JUST themselves as hard as Reina?
I think it's funny that it's still going on even after all their ships came to nothing. It's almost like watching people taking sides on politics or sports or something. The characters and even the show became secondary to the other side losing.
I've been in harem threads where people argued about best girls and worst girls, but that was at least relevant. Since the series was all about the girls. Looking at Hibike threads, you'd never guess how little romance there was. So little, in fact, that no one in S2 hooked up or got shot down.
Oh man I hadn't seen that before.
I wonder if she'd have killed those two guys on the train if they'd insulted tubas.
Shuichi personally mentors Shuichi in trombone. He also facilitates Reina's solo career. Shu and Reina spend a lot of time together. Reina realizes Shu is a lot like Taki in some ways. Shu being Shu says some uplifting words to Reina. Now in love with best friends boyfriend.
I am ok with this
describe this couple in 3 words or less
Is this how japanese students drill english vocabulary? Nama-sensei would be proud.
You learn spelling and vocabulary in general by reading a lot. That method is just silly and I can't see how it could work. It might teach you how to write individual characters, at most.
Japanese school system isn't exactly known for producing good English speakers. Also what >>151617006 said.
Russkie here, it was annoying even for me, and our alphabet is kinda similar looking.
Does anyone else experience severe cognitive dissonance with this series? It's amazing and perfect and I love everything about it, except for the one thing that didn't go the way I wanted, the relationship between Kumiko and Reina. I got way too emotionally invested in it and now the cognitive dissonance is actually painful whenever I think about the series, because I love it so much and yet it makes me feel like shit. I don't think I can ever rewatch it now, even though the first season was incredibly rewatchable to me. I also keep swinging between being glad it's over and hoping for more.
>Every other character had great scenes too.
It's no big deal because the storylines that did happen were all great, so it's not like her lack of storyline is a flaw. She and Midori just have the role of providing some fun cute little scenes now and then. Of course I would love to see them expanded in further seasons, but the same is true of every character.
"Hey anon, Gotou and I were wondering if you'd like to uh, "join us". We've had our eyes on your for a while. Just meet us behind the school after practise, we've got a room booked and everything."
>Months about shoefags vs reinafags
>Tears from every shipperfag
Fucking godly ending, 10/10
The worst part is it feels like not many people loved S2 like I did, and the fanbase is rapidly dissolving. I just want everyone to want S3
Kumiko is the MC, everyone is into her like that.
I'm imagining a cake Kumiko hyping herself up in front of the mirror the morning of her first day as a music teacher or something, wondering if those straps are still cool or whether she'll look like a dork in front of the students.
>Asuka thread, not Hibike general thread
>Hit bump limit once again
Truly best girl
She has 91 posts to go before she can claim that
Relax. She'll make it for sure.
