Arc-V has variety but they focus on Extra deck and even gave them speed to keep up with Xyz, the impact on IRL is irreversible, all thanks to ZEXAL.

Yeah, because Hara Kenichi (GX Character and Monster Designer) drew most of these. 99% of GX anime was outsourced for animation. The only parts that weren't were openings/endings and second half of eight episode. Other than that, first episode was handled by Gallop's associate studio R, episode six was done by IMAGINE and first half of eight episode was done by WAO WORLD. The rest of episodes (2-5,7,9-180) has been animated by Dongwoo Animation, Korean based animation studio. Actually, that's where Noh Gil-bo started as an in-between animator, soon moved to key animation. Later he moved directly to Gallop and became Animation Director. The reason for this massive outsourcing was that at the same time Gallop was working on Eyeshield and the studio simply didn't have the resources to maintain two such project at the same time.

Concerning the new upcoming Yuu gi ou! series I sure hope Hara Kenichi will become episodic AD and will come back to AD rotation. Hara, Maruyama, Ebina and Noh Gil-bo would make for nice rotation team for in-house episodes.

Those wings aren't just bigger, they're so gigantic that they change the entire shape into something slightly more interesting than your average dragon. I also like how the main body has this weird merge between the huge dragon tail and the smaller, more "humanoid" upper part going on. It's very appropriate for a fusion of a guy and his four dragons.

Yeah, ZEXAL got the short end of the stick in that regard. Though I think you could argue all three shows got better representation in some way:
Jack and Crow are decently in-character and there are a lot more background cameos from 5D's, but they're almost entirely removed from the plot.
Kaito is actually an active participant from his first appearance onward, but ZEXAL got only 1 character and 2 offhand references (Duel Lodge and Alan).
GX gets the most actual cards to support old archetypes, but both of its characters are laughably terrible in the show.
