Shows must be at least 10 years old, no recent stuff please.
10 years old this year.
I never see people talk about Read or Die anymore.
We will never get a reboot of the true
>Elemental Gelade was 2005
>One of the first anime I donwloaded
Nostalgia aside, it was realy nice for a one time fling
The animation was lousy but I loved this one anyway.
Loved this one
Recently finished watching this
It's crazy to think how many anime are just discontinued or dropped so inconclusively like this
It doesnt seem to happen as much anymore, but still
Don't say such sad things. No one has forgotten Nadia, r-right?
Pic related, can remember full-name but was a excellent anime
pic related: the name of the show
Currently watching Shaman King: mega top tier waifus in this show
It was a pretty crappy no-budget Guyver knockoff.
But The OP was great.
Yomiko is booksexual and the entire point of the manga is her trying to track down Donny.
The entire reason she freaked out and destroyed the British library in Read or Dream TV was because she found out the secret rule of Britain had used Donny as a new mental host.
There has to be some happy medium between the TV series taking forever to do anything and the OVA only having the guy meet the android for ten minutes before the series ending.
I remember hearing the OP of this show back in like 2000 and falling in love with the concept.
I wanted to see it so badly.
But now that I have the chance to, I don't bother. I heard it's not good at all and has an inconclusive ending.
Still love that OP though
Make your way to /m/, buddy
It was a good show too. At least I remember feeling a lot for the lolis and loving the soundtrack and ambience. The alien battle plot was not particularly interesting but it was necessary for the character development to work.
I doubt anyone forgot about Sega Genesis though.
What are some current shows that contain the level of drama and sisterly love like Marimite?
Excel Saga was a meme show before we knew what meme shows were
This is one of my favorite OVAs, shame no one ever talks about it
I remember the mid-2000s yuri boom.
Full adaptation never
What the fuck are you talking about, Kamichu was not ten years....
brb, gonna jump out a window
Not only is it forgotten now, it was even forgotten while it was airing. I only ever saw one thread about it, on the week when the loli's episode aired.
Last one, too lazy to check all the shows' airdates
I didn't like the ED that much but thought the OP was amazing
Why the fuck do they have those dick sucking lips then? Fuck, I bet this is too obscure to have doujins, too.
I literally just finished watching this. It was great until they left the prison. Really should have just done a regular time skip to them meeting under the tree and called it a wrap. No one needed to see that spineless nerd fall in love with a prostitute and turn his back on everyone only to get cucked. So stupid.
Does any of you remember Boys Be...?
>you will never sit in Lightning's lap and listen to her sing "Kiseki no Umi"
literally just come here and be my second so I can commit sudoku already
If anyone is going to know what I'm talking about I'm guessing its someone in this thread.
I'm looking for an anime that I've only seen on /a/ in a macro picture. I think it was from the 80's, maybe even 70's, and it was about some dude fighting in an army or something. All I clearly remember is it was one of those 'SO YOU THINK YOU KNOW WHAT BADASS IS? YOU HAVE NO IDEA SO TAKE A SEAT AND LET ME EDUCATE YOU ON THIS BADASS MOTHERFUCKER RIGHT HERE. HE JUMPS OUT OF PLANES, BEHEADS ENEMY SOLDIERS AND EVEN FINDS TIME TO FUCK WOMEN.' type of memes.
Maybe this is too vague but I hope someone has some idea of what I'm talking about.
Literally the only on my list that isn't super popular.
Nigger you need to watch this shit right the fuck now.
Beyond a few casual mentions I don't think I've seen /a/ discuss this once in my 8 years here. Granted it's from more than 10 years ago and there've been many better series since, but if it came out today I'm sure it'd be a hit here.
It's the show that does light travel and relativity in relation to time travel correctly.
MC's oniisan shows up as his much older self shortly after departing only to kill basically everyone after he loses his mind to a massive psychic attack resulting from his murdering of telekinetic lolis who can communicate faster than light speed via telepathy.
Melody of Oblivion.
Of course not. Although I watched this only this year due to this illustration, that I think was interesting, and decided to watch an anime. Never heard before, that Hideaki Anno actually made something this good.
Basically Strike Witches formula before strike witches faded into complete obscurity.
>so forgotten I can't even pull up the opening on jewtube
Anyway he's one that was definitely forgotten, don't know why it came to mind.
I fucking love the OP.
Also go read the manga, it's great.
Vandred as awesome. I like how it had a decent and interesting plot behind it and not just typical harem bullshit. Wasn't deep but i got more then i asked for.
Sure it was just Trigun with boobs but it had a cute charm to it.
I heard the anime OVA was shit-tier but I still have most of the manga series.
Now this was a series I wanted to read until I found out it has a bunch of untranslated spin-offs or something.
i remember these from back when i started reading manga online and would wolf down series so fast i fell into the trap of reading naruto and bleach because they were bigger and thus would take me longer. thankfully i never had any interest in one piece.
here's to nostalgia:
-BM and BM:nectar (these were fucking good)
-magical shopping arcade
-umi no misaki
-saikano (the feels)
-outlanders (jesus fuck the feels and that epilogue)
-ai yori aoshi
-that one about the guy who's dying and they sorta create a girl to stay with him till he dies and fuck japan and their goddamn feels making me sad.
and so many more, good times.
Not him but it's Mushi-Uta, I didn't think it was very good the plot is convoluted from what I remember.
Anyways I'll post another.
Back when I was young, foolish, and in High school, my anime club watched this shit like fifteen times. I am sick and tired of it but I can tell you it is definitely not forgotten.
i remember it, and the feels it made me feel.
it's on my list of "would recommend to others but never reread myself" where i keep especially feely mangas like this.
almost 10 but still forgotten ;_;
I won't ever forget that part were one of the classmates way lying in her bed and you thought she was gonna survive and then someone wanted to lift her up and, well you probably remember that part. It was one of the first anime with a scene I considered as pretty "hard". Not counting obvious gore feasts since they barely ever trigger emotions.
I really loved this shit but I have never seen anyone mentioning it anywhere. It had some boring slow parts but it was really something you could endlessy speculate about. It's the kind of slow shit I love, just like .hack//Sign. I am even sure some of the .hack staff worked on Zettai Shounen.
Watched this on Netflix 5 years ago, was my first anime. Seems as if most dont know it exists, but I still like it.
Only me, one other autist, and a waifufag remember Galaxy Angel. And those last two might even be the same person. I wonder if the nips still remember.
I watched it when it aired. The first 4 episodes were good and then Gonzo, I think it was, blew their budget and made the rest of the show look like shit. It was still alright
i love my wife
Ex-Driver, Sakura Diaries, Pet Shop of Horrors, 12 Kingdoms, I'm sure no one gives a fuck about rahxephon outside of /m/, Black Heaven, Jigoku Shoujo, Scrapped Princes, Soul Hunter and Saber J unless you're latino because they pop up in ñ threads.
I rewatched that a year ago, still one of the best of its kind.
Scrapped Princess is pretty well known, and it's been discussed a lot lately because the author went on to write Chaika IIRC.
Speaking of things that just turned 10...
I wonder if we'll ever get subs for that recap/remake movie they made.
Fuck the entire world for not animating more of this.
I would love to see a remake a la Yamato 2199
On of my favorite lesser-known animu, and a decent space opera
T-rex-chan best girl.
Forgotten shows is my mental food.
Theres something about dusting off some generic flopped show - and contrary to belief it doesnt even have to be that old, just pick a random anime from say a seasosn a few years ago or fuck even just from last year you will find something practically everyone forgot about now.
You have to force yourself through since they tend to be so bland, still it always makes me think, damn even this shit required countless workhours to produce, even this was some day a hope of somones, there were folks who wanted it to be something, it was marketed, they TRIED to sell it and generate attention, but it just bit the dust. But whats even more mindblowing to me is that even these shows had at one point a fanbase no matter how small, hell there maybe still some people who recall these shows as their personal gems. It always makes me wonder what happened after the hard reality hit the creators and the fans?
I think I can say this aspect fuels depression/sadness craving inside me, observing a piece of past almost no one wanted to exist and no one cares for, its fucked up but also satisfies the part of me that wants to do good, as if im doing service to the creators by paying attention to their work.
But I find it hard to explain it what exactly clicks about the shows, maybe it taps into generalised nostalgia, maybe theres so little stimulating my mind, so little to pay attention to you involuntary do deconstructions.
You see an old forgotten monolith thats completely abandoned, rusted, fell on its side, entirely desolate and alone. You walk to it and wipe a little dust of. You wonder if it has feelings - of course it doesnt, but the people who made it did, and they are part of it. But even if you clean it off entirely, whats the point? it will stay forever there, unchanged, and as soon as you leave, it will just continue gaining dust, until its completely buried.
You and me are nigs. Fuuko was my girl. It's just nice to have a chic on the team whose actually useful.
The fuck did you read, as far as tournaments go Recca's was one of the better and they moved on from it fairly quickly. The following chapters where amazing too
you ever catch Starship Operators. It was a bit dull but had some neat things going on. Probably could have been one of the greats if they had more than 12 episodes
I cant remember shit from this show besides the name, the mech and the bitch with headband
It's not that obscure, I even rewatched it recently.
THIS ON THE OTHER HAND... Soul what?
No, there's threads about it now and then...here and there. It's still one of my all-time favorites.
Not sure if this one's forgotten, but i never hear anyone talk about it
Maybe people remember Sanada, but UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie was all-around stupid fun.
Technically it wasn't even a harem although it had all the trappings of one.
Please think of the Catgirls.
It's probably fared better than most stuff from 2005 but I still don't ever really hear it talked about
I could never truly forget that show because of that image.
Cmon, it's in 25% of /a/ 3x3, there's a thread weekly hidden somewhere.
I have never seen this on /a/ ever
any Dokkoida nigs in the house?
I really need to lurk this thread until it is archived.
Looks like a goldmine.
Correct depiction of american half-breeds.
I remember. I think people forgot because Blood C was so shit they just wanted to forget anything Blood related. Blood+ was fun though, especially when
the shota got raped and turned to a crystal by Diva.
>mfw you've watched 95% of everything that was mentioned in this thread because you're old and you refuse to leave a board full of teens and newfriends
Meh. I've been coming here regularly for about 10 years. I was well older than the average age then and have only gotten older. I've made peace with hanging out on a Korean cave carving board with people half my age.
That said, have a show than I doubt more than 5 of you have seen. And if you haven't go watch it.
And be disappointed that it ends after just two measly episodes.
yes, it is, and as shitty as the show itself might be, especially the finale, i gotta say that scene probably made a ton of people watch it.
Blood+ had no such thing though and it has considerably more episodes, a more fleshed-out history and an actual conclusion that isn't utter shit like blooc C's.
I've never seen Princess Rouge posted on /a/. Not surprising though, since they only did 1/3rd of the story. It was so good though.
This image came from an angelfire website. How the hell is angelfire still around?
Paradise Kiss. it was a pretty enjoyable show; ED soundtrack by Franz Ferdinand. Not too bad over all.
Join the club. Acceptance is the best course of action. And when you're ready, join us.
I'd rather have found a still from them on the bridge, but I got distracted.
29 here. Yourself?
Which one didn't you watch?
Hyper Police? Is this one forgotten?
No, it's about a spaceship full of space cadets refusing to surrender after their planet lost a space war, and selling the live video rights of their battles to space Amazon, so they can air it on space Amazon Prime.
Also general space teens shenanigans.
Star Ocean is isekai done right.
My Brother of African descent
el cazador was i liked, best of the trio
madlax i havent watched enough to judge but had a good feel
but fucking noir
everytime i keep trying to go back to noir
but its so fucking boring and they do so many fucking flashbacks i only have to watch like every 2 episodes
i hope she doesnt kill her in the end
One of the best shows I've ever seen. Praise Madhouse.
I'm pretty sure she had to have been someone's waifu.
Also it's times like these I wish I kept my folder better organized.
Regardless, I'm glad I kept all of this.
Fuck, this meme is nostalgic.
