I also should mention I notice a lot of people wanting to get into Lupin come to these threads and ask where should they start. here are my suggestions so you don't have to ask.

first series (watch all of it)
second series (watch a little bit of it)
third series (watch a little bit of it)
forth series (watch all of it)

Lupin shows tend to be episodic with very few exceptions so you wont need to watch all 155 episodes of second series if you dont want to so watch some of it just to get the tone of the series before starting the movies.

after you've seen enough of the red jacket (2nd series) feel free to start with the movies. these are what I recommend in this order

Mystery of Mamo
Castle of Cagliostro
Legend of the Gold Babylon
Fuma Conspiracy
Hemingway Papers
Missed by a Dollar
In Memory of Walther P38

I left out some other good ones but these ones are essential and should be watched 1st. after you've done all this feel free to watch the rest of the movies.

once you have a good feel of the overall series start watching the spinoff series "A Woman Called Fujiko Mine" and see if you like it. Right after that watch the sequel OVAs "Jigen's Gravestone" and then upcoming sequel Film "Blood Spray of Goemon".

Lupin III Part II collection one is up for preorder now and it will contain the first 40 episodes of the series both sub and dub as well as featuring extras and audio commentaries. Thanks /a/ for getting me into Lupin. Finally finished all 4 parts about a week ago. I'd say I love Part 1, 2, and 4 A LOT! And the Miyazaki episodes were a real treat! Watched all of the series on Crunchyroll and thought what I watched of the dub (part 2) was really good but meh in some places. Feel that Part 3 was pretty weak but still enjoyable. I think the character designs are what threw me off the most about the series. Part 4 I absolutely adored and want more of! Does anyone know if they're making a Part 5 with the same studio? Also a few questions. Since I watched all of the parts, how's the Fujiko anime? And also besides the Miyazaki film, what others should I watch? And how is the manga and any download links?

TMS does all the Lupin shit. there will be without a doubt a part 5 since Lupin is a japanese tradition with new content every year though we dont know when part 5 will happen.

best art of the entire series and some really amazing episodes. the overall plot wasnt that amazing but neither was part 4. it is a must watch in my opinion. Lots of great Lupin episodes and even great Jigen and Goemon episodes. Be aware it is darker though

If you like the series, do give the Leblanc book a try. I had a lot of fun reading it and the Lupin The First shares some features with his grandson that will make the fans of the anime feel at home. It also helps that Gentleman-Thief is a short book (less than 200 pages)

Lupin dubs are pretty damn good though with the exception of the funimation ones.. although chris sabat as jigen was pretty dope. I grew up with the red jacket dub like a lot of people so I cant help but be bias just like you would be.also the manga dub of cagliostro is literally almost as good as the original, but nothing beats yasuo yamada in my opinion. I adore old Lupin sub but I wont deny I kind of dont like everything post yasuo's death. once Kurita takes over, I don't feel guilty watching it dub nor should anyone else. Kurita has gotten better though but we can all agree he was pretty shitty at first

i believe the japanese Blu Rays are out, but the Discotek Blu Ray that has the new subs and dub doesn't come out until some time next year.

Am I the only one who cannot stand Mine Fujiko?
Yeah, she's got boobs and all, but the only time I found her mildly attractive was in series one, when she was actually batshit crazy, and in the Fujiko anime, but after each of those, I hated her more, b/c she's still a conniving backstabbing bitch.
I thought during the Fujiko anime that maybe they would get into her backstory, and reveal why she's such a fukken twat, (muh daddy issues) but it turned out to be mind control and she's even more of an insufferable cunt than she was letting on.
Even in Daisuke Jigens Gravestone, I was wishing that cunt destroyer robot thing would give those aristocrats a good show.
