What's the greatest love story ever told in anime?
All hail based Yamada and KinoAni for this masterpiece
He just bullies her and that's about it.
Koko > Taiga, Ryūji > Banri.
It's great. But if it doesn't look good to you, that's fine.
You'll just miss out on best girl.
But whatever, do what you want.
The Dusk Maiden of Amnesia. Both the anime and manga are very touching and stars my beautiful wife Yuuko.
Now this might not be for everyone but I like the dark tone about it, guess I kept a little edge from my teen days.
Either My Balls
Or the Softest Ghost mango
The manga has been kind of dragging along lately. The plot about best girl Kiki and her relationship with that other guard is the only thing keeping me interested right now. The anime was great though, and this is coming from someone who can't stand shoujoshit.
>no school days
Everyone in here has shit taste.
none of the above can come even close to pic related.
>all these fags saying there are better romance anime than Toradora
First /a/ said that Shigatsu is better, then /a/ said that Honey & Clover is better, than /a/ said that Midori no Hibi is better, then /a/ said that Sakurasou and White Album 2 are better.
I haven't seen Sakurasou yet but I have finished all those other anime I listed and none of them come close to Toradora. Currently several episodes in to White Album 2 and so far it's not better than Toradora. I suppose my next stops after this are Sakurasou, Kare Kano and Koi Kaze.
You people truly are ignorant and without taste. Pic related is the only choice, anything else is just musings of plebians
Ha ha, you haven't seen White Album 2? Dude, go watch it now. Right now. This second.
I'd like to differ: she isn't spoiled; as you can see from her actions in the anime.
She chooses not to interfere with the romance of her best friend and and the person she loveswhich is a clear manifestation of healthy mind.
I finished watching Toradora just yesterday, always thought that "best love story ever" was an /a/ meme so I just looked down on it. Fuck, was I wrong, I loved it so much it left me an hole inside once it was over
It's probably the most satisfying anime romcom I have ever seen.
You'd rather she'd be kniving and selfish, completely ignoring other people's feelings? That's most people tbqh in reality, and it's terrible. In a way, the idealized anime way of portraying friendship. it's both civilizing and moral
I can't believe that I tried to avoid spoilers and downloaded more than 40gb just have this shit shoved in my face.
What about the visual novel?
>always do the opposite of what /a/ says
But that's what I've done until now, and for once I should've done what /a/ said
I mean, the series closes perfectly, a sequel would probably ruin it.
I did buy the light novel on impulse though, I need more Taiga in my life
>It's probably the most satisfying anime romcom I have ever seen.
Gotta agree. Until now my favorite romcom was Sakurasou (and Nagi no Asukara if we count it as one), but Toradora tops everything
Oh there is? How much is it related to the main story?
>I mean, the series closes perfectly, a sequel would probably ruin it
True, though, it always makes you want more.
>Was pretty trashy
You are unironically trashy. You don't bathe; you don't brush your teeth; you smell terribly; you wear dirty clothes; you still watch MTV; you casually use profanity with people outside your peer group.
>MC and main girl sucked
Die in a fire, trailer trash scum.
>Oh there is? How much is it related to the main story?
It's canon, so 100%. The original anime voices voice the visual novel characters and the writing is pretty solid, so I'd say it's well worth it.
Just make sure to use a guide when playing it.
A boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl’s phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day’s confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn’t exist in this universe at all. She is the girl’s alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC’s own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of LOVE.
Clannad by far is my favorite purely because it shows a fair bit of the characters' life after they get together.
People are forgetting about best love story so fast. It's only been 7 years.
there's a middle ground between a spineless dweeb without the courage to go after what you want and being a completely self-centered piece of garbage
in fact, the two are often found together
> "greatest love story ever told"
> characters are in high school
not so fast, you sneaky snakes.
maid sama was pretty good.
Ore monogatari was fun aswell
WA2 is the most dramatic, complex and beautiful love story ever told.
This. It is not even a contest at this point.
OTP has been decided since ch. 1.
>Unironically liking the Ghost Banri bullshit
>Hayao Miyazaki reported that he wants to return to making an anime feature film
>Despite not officially receiving a green-light for the feature film, Miyazaki decided to start animation work on the project anyway.
Really makes you think
Is there a purer form of love than a shota and his Ramadan cake bride?
Threadly reminder that it has been made into a wiki, a fanfic, a fictionpress story, a manga, a meme, an anime preview, an anime episode, and an honest-to-goodness anime movie that's Oscar nominated, and a critically acclaimed box office success, so stop talking about it.
not a love story but the ending to metropolis made me feel something
This is my biggest problem with romance in any medium. And why I love shows that have romance develop early on with more mature characters e.g beserk. There is far to many stories that spend the whole story figuring out issues and eventually getting the one he/she loves.
Also there isn't enough fun segments of couples just having fun together. There needs to be longer periods of time before some drama happens that they have to overcome.
Movies are shit for romance since they are so short, there just isn't enough screen time for good character development.
Sorry for the blog post
Honestly, I can decided. It's a tie between this and
Kyouko and Sayaka'sstory.
I wish Candy Boy would get a Blu Ray release.
MC falls in love with a ghost. It has some aspects of mystery, SoL, and spook but at the core it is a romance.
It's this one without any doubt. Being an adventure anime means it doesn't need to rely on shitty relationship drama to carry itself. It has a bit but for the most part you get to enjoy the characters going through trials, changing, and slowly falling in love.
>both wanted to fuck some other dude
>shayron wanted his boi pussy wrecked
>sakura condemned the person who loves her the most to multiple universes worth of suffering and loneliness
Tomoya is a fucking cuck anyway. She probably is more than happy filming Shaoran and Sakura from the closet while she fingers herself.
Ano Natsu is one of the best romance anime ever. I still rewatch it every few months. It's so comfy.
Why i can't like romance anime? For me is really pointless and generic, even more when the anime goes with tsundere and yandere bullshit, for me is easier to see anime girls doing stupid shit, i have never watched a romance anime.
I agree. Ano Natsu left a warm hole in my heart... Al though I like Ichika, the tomboy is my favourite.
You guys dont know anything.Who is watching pic related starting next week. Hope it's some great romance kino.
Everyone else in this thread is wrong.
Eureka 7 is overrated as shit. I went in expecting a nice adventure with some sweet romance instead ended up hating EVERY character.
The only upside to that anime was the rival couple. Yeah the girl was a fucking monster to the guy but at least she had a reason. Meanwhile everyone else on the protagonist side were fucking hippie monsters which had no empathy for anything or anyone.
Why has no one posted the greatest love story yet?
Not even the author's best work.
You may be baiting but I do think Saekano is underrated as a romance IF Megumi wins. The relationship between Tomoya and Megumi is actually interesting and it's fun to see how they infect and change one another.
This has been the best one that I have seen so far. I loved every moment of it.
Forgot the pic like the retard I am.
This. I am also a sucker for haruka Tomatsu voiced characters. I don't know why.
Shizuku is literal autism but she's alright
Why do i get the feeling that Rinko would lose interest in Goda as they started to go to college?
stupid women . we all know that NHK is the greatest love story ever told
ore monogatari is the best high school romance ever told in anime
it's got the PURE and it's got the TRUE LOVE and it's got the FAHSTO KISSU
pretty much all of the needed ingredients, packed into a story about opposites attracting. The story doesn't do the typical shoujo thing of misunderstandings fueling entire arcs. There's a constant advancement in the relationship. That's how love stories work, as opposed to something like Toradora, where it takes an entire 26 eps to get to a kissu, and everyone is too dramatic about relationships that don't even have a form.
I like toradora, but c'mon, ore monogatari is the clearest choice
God tier right here. And the main pairing actually isn't too bad either so I don't mind when it switches back to them.
>implying she is pure
I got news for you
right anime, wrong girl, anon
nothing says love like getting maimed for hanging with your girl who maims and kills
Hard to decide
Spice and Wolf because wolf girl
Sankarea because zombie girl
MonMusu is a safe bet though
What happened to haremshitters acknowledging their shit is indeed shit? When did they start actually thinking it was any good? Have some fucking respect damn.
My OTP as a kid. Still like it. It's just sad because I think they ended up pussyfooting around it to satisfy yuri/waifufags so Lina could stay 'pure'.
I think that's what happened, if I remember right.
>one person said this
>/a/ said this
also, toradora a shit. taiga a abusive useless shit.
all of the shows you listed are objectively bad
maybe white album 2 is okay but it should be in a different genre
this looks like korea
maybe they were both texting
Japan condition to declare a series is a harem or not:
1. At least 3 or more MAIN girls (not counting boys, traps, ) like the MC (do not need to be male) more than any other characters (both gender) in the series
2. The girls must have romantic feeling to the MC, not just normal friend, and do not care about food or money more than him
3. 50% is the required number for series that have many main girls ( like 6 or more)
4. The MC's feeling doesn't matter in most parts
5. Since most Jap don't think harem is bad, I wonder why you raged
I mean, you're too dumb to even use the word correctly in a sentence. What makes you think you can correctly define one.
By your logic To Love RU is not a harem because Rito consistently says he loves only Haruna.
>as far as I know, Rito is not in a relationship with Haruna
All you said was choose a girl. Choosing one does not imply being in a relationship with one.
Words have actual meaning for a reason. So you can convey information to other people accurately.
Why not learn English before posting on an English site.
Greatest love stories ever told: White Album 2, ef, Nodame Cantabile, Honey and Clover, KareKano, Cross Game, Kemonozume.
Worst love stories ever told: Toradora, REC, Keyshit, most shounenshit, most LNshit, Okadashit, Itazura na Kiss.
It's actually Toradora, fuck all of you who think otherwise
she has the voice of minorin, that´s probably why I never could watch this series to the end, eventhough I literally watched toradora 8 times and it is my fav anime.
The dumbest romance you're ever going to read, but holy shit it can make you feel so happy and floaty inside
I see a lot of you giving Toradora shit and I don't really get it.
Toradora is a brilliant coming of age story, and I would sort of define it as a "celebration of youth." It is a classic love story between high schoolers, who are confused and act impulsively as a result of their confusion and delusions.
Our main characters consist of two social outcasts, who bond over their delusional dreams. They share a classic "partners in crime" relationship, where they each assist each other to achieve what they believe to be their dreams.
Ryuuji thinks that he likes Minori, and convinces himself that her personality and lifestyle is what's so great about her (which we also finds out is a sort of mask that Minori dons)
Taiga, because of her life of being neglected, yearns for someone who who will rely on her, and need her. Kitamura, being the first person to show interest in her, becomes the target of her misplaced affection.
Throughout the story, we follow these two confused teenagers, as they continuously attempt to make their "dream" come true - only for them to realize in the end that their goals were actually right in front of them. The ending isn't especially subtle, as the viewer is let in on the results almost right from the get-go. However, the characterization and build-up, makes the payoff work.
These are 6 of the greatest love stories ever told
The show is actually quite realistic (although exaggerated, since it is fiction and a cartoon). The way the characters act - how irrational they act, as they ARE teenagers. Throughout the show we see how all of them mature, as they experience the complications of youth, and as they become more mature, we see them act more rational, as they finally realize what it is they actually want.
People always just see it as a romance drama, but I feel like there's many more layers than just that.
As I mentioned earlier, I consider this a "celebration of youth" and a coming of age story. We get the irrationality of a group of teenagers as we see them make mistakes as they grow up. We are not only presented with the romantic aspect of youth, but also such things as friendship, uncertainty about the future, parents, etc.
Everything else is just shit in comparison.
>best girl never got a route
Other than that, Amagami SS has got to be the, like, tapas of romance anime or something - wish more anime did it in that same style.
Know who else didn't get a route? Imouto or sensei
Truly the greatest love story ever told
Because one is a morally uptight class prez who can't abide the idea of twins fucking, and the other is his girlfriend
