Tomino has made tons of more great anime than Miyazaki or Anno ever have.
Anno has only directed three original animated works throughout his entire career, all of which are a ripoff of something else. Gunbuster ripped off Ace wo nerae. Nadia ripped off Future Boy Conan. Neon Genesis Evangelion ripped off Ideon. And all of those three works contain tons of references to Yamato, Gundam, and Macross.
Miyazaki is a fucking hack, and I think all of you already know this, so I shall delve no further on this.
On the other hand, although Tomino has directed tons of mecha anime, which may seem like they have more-or-less the same plot and same characters, they're actually all very different from each other. Even though he's best known as that creepy bald dude who created Mobile Suit Gundam, he's also directed a bunch of other stuff, like Brave Raideen, Space Runaway Ideon, Combat Mecha Xabungle, Aura Battler Dunbine and more, all of which have their own soul, their own spirit.
