May not be fair to compare it to the others because of how new it is and how Araki's skills have improved, but from a design point of view I love all of it.

The technicalities in some parts can completely break the immersion and tension. No fight in part 2 is tense because you know Hamon is basically an asspull machine that conveniently does whatever the user wants. From part 4 onwards Stands actually are (MUCH more often than not) binded to their defined abilities, which makes the fights much more interesting and fun because they double up as a mental battle as well as a physical one.

I don't mind that we didn't get anything Part 5-related, it would have detracted from the tone of the ending. Part 4's ending is very somber, a lot like Part 5's. Imagine at the end of Part 5 they take time to cut away to fucking Florida. It would just be out of place. Part 3 was an exception because everyone and their mom knows about Part 3.

But I think we can rest assured that DP is going to reference Jonathan and create this connection, probably in the OPs.
I mean, if they referenced Jonathan in Great Days (the wiki says one of the directors confirmed the sun was supposed to represent Jonathan), they are referencing him in Part 5. We know at least David has not forgotten our beloved gentleman.
