I think Judge has been planning to betray the government, so he wants a powerful army... which is why he is so brutal. I get that Luffy and Zoro are complete monsters in their mindset and won't blink at maming themselves just to win the battle and I get that Nami humanizes a crew full of beasts, but looking at the direct threat to Sanji's life, it's kind of weak that she's still not even close to willing to at least sacrifice a bit for Sanji's sake. It's made harder because she needs her hands to draw maps and all that (even though we haven't seen her draw a map since Arlong), but looking at how Vivi was very much willing to cut off her legs when she was captured just for the smallest chance of beating the Baroque Works at Little Garden, it kind of is disappointing to see her belittle Luffy for how far he was willing to go.
