Reina is such a better character in the anime than the source material it's not even funny. Well, at least in the first season of the anime.
But that's mostly because the anime gave her so many more scenes to flesh her out, as well as tweak her personality a bit. But what we got was a complete improvement.

Shoe obviously has a crush on her but she doesn't seem to reciprocate and it's kinda funny to see all their friends try to push them together. If I had watched this show knowing no spoilers, if there was no light novel, I wouldn't even consider that shoe and Kumiko could be together even after this episode.
