The other thread is overrun with shitposting. Here we wait for subs and then discuss the episode like decent human beans.
Kumiko is so fluffy.
But he didn't "win" in the anime, at least not yet. I'm not even a /u/fag, if less, I rooted for Shoe all this time, but the episode just set a flag for the future, a future outside of the anime (and inside the LN, I guess).
Cool, thanks kyoani. You better do an OVA you fucks.
Yes. This is why Yuri on ice got boring after the first 5 episodes, the tracks were the same, the coreographies were the same with just little change (and awful animation every time), also they had to use the time to develop the characters and their future (Mamiko, Asuka, etc), so overall, living the performance out was the correct decision.
Roboe in full fistbump mode was pretty cute.
Kyoani fucking butchered Reina's character so much this season that I don't give a crap about her anymore.
Remember when the threads were just about the concert band, bros?
This was way earlier on in season 1.
I miss those threads. What instruments do people play?
Sax master race
see this duck trying to brofist you, what do?
If you molested her, I bet she wouldn't tell anyone else.
Did you start watching today?
I didn't care about Haruka for the entire first season. But that habit of crying is sort of cute.
Plus she can put out a mean solo.
As a Hisakawa Aya fan, I was waiting for this.
And I forgot my image.
Reina has balls of steel. Wonder how long until the entire band knows. Kaori and Yuuko sure took it in stride.
Yuuko is a good girl.
What's cymbals thinking?
Once Kumiko was naked too, Mamiko sat with Kumiko's head between her thighs. Then Mamiko started to grind her mound back and forth against Kumiko's nose and mouth, gently and then rapidly, breathing heavily, her folded wings shaking in sync with her hips.
Kumiko sputtered weakly in protest at first. But by the time her strength returned, the scent of her sister's lust so intoxicated her that she couldn't help pulling Mamiko's thighs closer and digging her tongue into the sweet, hot syrup. "Ooh!" Mamiko laughed in delight. "You're doing so good." She slowed down to let Kumiko drink deeper.
An incidental brush of Mamiko's tail against her back gave her an idea. She twisted around and grabbed the devilish tip, then leaned back to press it between Kumiko's legs. Kumiko wailed at the wiggly thing tickling her pussy, and then cried out as Mamiko guided it inside, making Kumiko’s legs twitch with excitement. In return, Kumiko's licking and sucking grew in intensity.
Higher and higher both sisters moaned, and Mamiko's hips began to pick up speed again, until she reached her peak and a fountain of luminescent nectar blasted Kumiko in the face. After a moment of cooldown, Mamiko backed off and bemusedly watched Kumiko savor and swallow every drop of the pink glowing mess.
Check these 6s
Haruka has legit always been one of my favorite characters in the show. Loved her strengths. Loved her faults. Loved her
I honestly wish the show had been more about the 3rd years, if not at least the second season had more scenes with them.
>even in the novels and manga.
>even in season 1
Reina is such a better character in the anime than the source material it's not even funny. Well, at least in the first season of the anime.
But that's mostly because the anime gave her so many more scenes to flesh her out, as well as tweak her personality a bit. But what we got was a complete improvement.
It's nice that Reina learned how to get along with the other trumpets. This could've been another sperg-out scene
I recognize that megane alto-sax in the three person group hug on the left. Can't tell if the other two huggers are the sax section.
Haruka is my second favourite after Hazuki.
Saw some LN spoilers in season 1 threads. Winning bronze, Asuka hearing from her dad. Sounds about right, IIRC.
But I forgot about the Asuka scene until I saw it. Was a nice touch.
I felt like Kumiko and Reina's friendship, which was a huge part of S1, was barely even mentioned in S2. In fact, I feel like Reina got a lot less screentime this season and felt like a side character.
I actually agree, what has she done in season 2 besides slobber over Taki-sensei's dick? I don't really care that she does but that's all that's too her in s2 and it's not entertaining
I stand by what I said. People who "loved" Reina in season 1 but also denied that she's crazy and she's hot for teacher didn't really love her. They wanted Kyoani to create a new character. It was always clear to me they were going down this path.
Go down what path? The path of her character only existing to lust after Taki-sensei? That's always been part of her character but that's all there is to her season and it's really boring
If you actually watched the episode there was nothing romantic between Shuichi and Kumiko at all
He gave her a birthday gift that he was too awkward to give her before that's all there was to it
Ignoring the shitposting, there's nothing between them besides friendship, kyoani is just going to leave it open, which is better for the anime and Kyoani has agreed is better for the anime
Getting more than 60 seconds of screentime per half-dozen episodes.
I think S2 could have been organized a bit better, but I also think it's fine that Reina didn't continue hogging the limelight. She and Kumiko still got some nice scenes together, and I enjoyed getting a closer look at Ribbons and Asuka.
Their relationship was a more central focus to the first season, yeah, but it's still there in S2. They just don't make it as constantly melodramatic, so it's mostly the two of them chatting and teasing each other like normal friends.
I don't think you completely understood what I said.
I don't think people denied that she was in love with Taki. It's merely that the anime made her /more/ than that. However it's simply that in the second season they more or less dropped all the fun they were having with her character and mostly stuck to the script.
Which I suppose is understandable, given they had more material to cover within the same amount of time, and couldn't fit in much original content, which gave the first season a lot of its charm.
Now that I think about it, a lot of characters suffered due to that. How much did Kumiko unconsciously say things that was on her mind in this season? That was of course a quirk that KyoAni added.
It's not the only thing about her character but it is a major part of her character considering he's the main source for why she even attends that school and a major motivation for why she plays trumpet. It was always there. There's still more to her than Taki but /u/ and purityfags think her crush on him renders everything else tainted and muh ruined.
You need yuri goggles on to ship Kumiko x Reina.
You need het goggles on to ship Kumiko x Shuichi.
The goggles don't have to be on particularly tight in either case, but both do require goggles.
The only thing that changed is that season 2 focused on the band as a whole while season 1 focused mainly on Kumiko and Reina. The narrative structure is different than before. I'm sorry that you think her crush on Taki is all she is but that's your personal problem.
>kumiko x shuuichi is hinted through all the few scenes they have together and by the fact that it's canon in the fucking novel
>kumiko x reina is hinted through one mountain scene, people misinterpreting friendship in other scenes as "they want to fug XD" and through cashgrab promotional art
Gee I'm so surprised
>It's a drama series, not a romance series
>implying the two genres are mutually disjoint
Their scenes were cut to further the red herring bait scenes so /u/ would give them their money before the long-suffering hetfags would worship their feet at eventual movie or OVA that confirms Shoe won the Kumikobowl. That's how you do it. Make one side suffer while filling up the other side with false confidence only to rip it out from under them at the last second, and showering the "losing" side with a final and permanent victory.
Reminder that not all /u/sers are like pic related.
Let's not even pretend that Kyoani didn't play up the subtext. I never expected anything to happen because fucking duh, read the source novel, but kyoani were implicit in this from the beginning.
Oh i don't know, i feel bad for the guy honestly...
Sax though I started only recently so I suck.
Can't lie, a little bit of why I picked it up was because of Hibike.
Me liking doujin jazz music played bigger role in it though.
N-no bully please.
Why are people freaking out like KyoAni didn't dismantle Shuuichi's scene and give it the same treatment they've handled him with for two seasons?
in the novels Kumiko is distraught and Shuuichi comforts her before giving her the hairclip which she's too embarrassed to put on, so he actually takes it and pins it to her hair before attempting to confess. Asuka, who has been watching the whole thing, interrupts right her, cockblocking him.
Which part of that is in the anime? I missed it.
Roboe social skills 1.0.
KUMI SO HAPPY SHE GOT A PRESENT FROM /OURBOY/
>tfw season 2 was legitimately mediocre but I can't say that without sounding like a butthurt yurifag
I liked the "Hmmm" sound she made there because she instatly knew what was going on and how Midori was shipping them while whoichi was still trying to act like it was nothing. She's so above him.
>it's ok that they reused footage for regionals because they will play the same thing again at nationals
>it's ok they used CGI for station concert because they're saving budget for nationals
>it's ok they completely ignored the nationals performance because they would play the same thing again
/a/ is fucking retarded sometimes.
This was advertised as a music anime. The musical performances of both Kitauji and other schools should've been the priority of this episode.
What a mediocre season.
>tfw season 2 was legitimately mediocre
did we watch the same show, anon? mizore and asuka's arcs were amazing and the way the show weaves one into another while using kumiko's sister's past and present as an a parallel is super good. and it would be stating the obvious to talk about how well kyoani executed pivotal scenes through body language and expression
>but /u/ and purityfags think her crush on him renders everything else tainted and muh ruined.
Not really, it's just not a very interesting way to explore her character, I wouldn't even care if she actually got dicked even by another character as long as it was interesting to watch
I don't really get the use of the word cruel either.
I mean, it's not like that time in Cross Ange where they showed her fucking Salamander in all those alternate universes only for it to never come up again.
You can, just not on /a/ because shitposters run rampant
Honestly /a/ is probably the worst place to discuss Euphonium right now I never thought I'd see the day, used to be /a/ was better than anywhere else even at its worst
If I had watched this show fully thinking that it was an original, I'd be much more upset over the lack of focus on Reina and Kumiko's relationship, and the focus on Reina's feelings for Taki in the second season than I ever would have been over a comparatively insignificant gesture like that.
Her and shoe's relationship is actually interesting from a non romance perspective. Ignoring the shitposting, they work well together, as friends. Shoe obviously has a crush on her but she doesn't seem to reciprocate and it's kinda funny to see all their friends try to push them together. It kinda seems like Shoe knows too but they're still friends.
I'm not mad that yuri lost, I'm mad that this romance was completely glossed over for a season and a half, and then just forced into the end.
Doesn't help that Shuu has basically no personality or character development to speak of.
I would still have been expecting a het end if only given Reina creaming herself over Taki constantly and Kumiko fucking cheering her on. I KnM is the only time yuri has gone head to head with het and won.
If I had watched this show knowing no spoilers, if there was no light novel, I wouldn't even consider that shoe and Kumiko could be together even after this episode. They legitimately just come off as childhood friends. If there was only S1, I would also legitimately think Kumiko and Reina are gay for each other and I think most people would too. If it weren't for the spoilers a lot more people would be disappointed with S2 and how their relationship turned out as well.
Yuri or the possibility of yuri really does bring out the worst in /a/. I really like this show and the characters and drama, but I can't stand threads upon threads of "nuh-uh she likes reina" or "nuh-uh she likes shoe".
Where do people get the energy to talk about it so long? Are they getting paid to do it or something?
>and then just forced into the end.
Did we watch the same episode? There wasn't really any romance, it seems like Kyoani is playing it off open ended if anything. I guess they could still write in a forced confession from Shoe but it would feel really poorly written and out of nowhere. I don't think there's going to be any romance anywhich way though, definitely not yuri at least.
>Where do people get the energy to talk about it so long? Are they getting paid to do it or something?
People go nuts over romance, it's why it's forced awkwardly into so many things and why harems never conclude until the last minute because so many people would be upset their ship didn't win
Surprisingly, people like to talk about the things they enjoy.
Equally as surprising (at least on 4chan), people get upset when someone is enjoying something they don't.
I actually hope they add the confession in so this fucking discussion doesn't last for the infinity
>this is a confession of love Kumiko
>nah actually I'm straight
Is this the biggest Kyoani troll after Endless 8?
AHAHAHAHAH THERE IT IS
THEY ACTUALLY DID IT THE ABSOLUTE MADMEN
KYOANI PUT IT RIGHT IN YOUR FACE, SMACK CENTER FRAME WITH A SLOW ZOOM SO EVERYONE CAN TAKE IT IN LMAO
HAIRCLIP = HETCLIP, BOOK ENDING CONFIRMED
DEEP DICKING FOR KUMIKO FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE :^)
After rewatching the episode, there is still a chance for yuri end to happen but at this point, Reina is way more concerned with Taki-sensei, which leaves Kumiko alone to be picked up by Shoe.
If you want to blame anyone for a non-yuri ending, blame sensei.
People shipping two friends over 24 episodes, but they stay friends and nothing happens? I'd get a kick out of a quiet background plot like that.
Must be getting old. Ships failing in new ways sounds more fun than shipping a couple and winning.
What the hell are you even blaming sensei for
ENOUGH TO DOWN AN ENTIRE BOARD OF /u/SHITTERS :^)
KumiRei is the most boring and forced yuri couple ever. They're way more self insert than ShoeKumi. Plus Reina is deeply in love with Taki already so your ship is already impossible. There were signs that ship wasn't happening since seasion 1 and you ignored them. Your loss.
What did she mean by this? I just can't figure it out.
They have more history together and I like their chemistry. I like that Shoe doesn't sit around feeling sorry for himself despite his one sided crush, I like how he supports Kumiko and genuinely wants the best for her, and I think Kumiko's awkwardness around him is cute. Also the scene they cheered for each other in season 1 struck a chord with me in a way Kumiko's interactions with Reina never have.
i think its hilarious u kids talking shit about Shuuichi. u wouldnt say this shit to him at a competition, hes got PERFECT PITCH. not only that but he plays the freshest solos, eats the tastiest yakisoba and hangs out with the hottest senpais. yall are off-pitch
He'd be called a bland faggot if he got more screentime but acted the same. I still think he's bland. I assume some anons relate to the guy liking a girl and being ignored by her.
Which is why they want him to win.
>light novel kumiko is super flustered and says she's too embarrassed to wear it, so shuuichi puts it on her and tries to confess before asuka interrupts them
>anime kumiko goes "ah, cute, that's nice, thanks dude"
not one kumishuu shipper can defend this change. so naturally, they'll ignore it again and continue shitposting and putting :^) at the end of every post
Why is that everytime someone gets owned, they turn into a psychology major? "Y-you just want him to win because y-you're insecure about your dick size a-and you see yourself in him because h-he's spineless bla bla bla" who the fuck cares. Your shitty homo ship isn't happening. Suck it up, buttercup.
>which is why her crush being portrayed so seriously is kinda annoying
Both agree and disagree.
On one hand, I can understand why they would present it seriously, and frankly appreciate that they're doing so. Because, at least for the moment, it's entirely serious to Reina herself.
What I don't like is how it's also being taken so seriously from the people around her, which is a bit disingenuous, since I doubt even Sapphire thinks Reina has a chance, and are just seeing it as a cute side show.
Well, maybe Kumiko thinks she has a chance.
What about the kids that were afraid to self insert as Shuuichi until it was literally confirmed with the hairpin cause they were that terrified of rejection? Bunch of scared basic bitch fuckbois desu if you ask me
>Why is that everytime someone gets owned
>someone gets owned
Who the fuck are we even sharing this board with
They should've set up a strong foundation for the Shuuichi ship from the beginning and people would've been on board with it, instead of just making almost non-existent and then giving the Yuri fanatics bait to play with and then fearing their backlash. We could've gotten a cute little love story but now we have nothing.
I literally meant tumblr. Most of those crying are probably legitimately teenage lesbians. /u/ is a completely different demographic which is why we kept telling them to shut the fuck up and sit the fuck down, because we saw this coming.
I thought this was a thing from some of the posts. Basically the reverse of guys wanting their favorite girl to win. I'm only a little surprised anyone would like Shuu enough.
IT MEANS THE DICK WON, TWICE LMAO
BOTH GIRLS CONFIRMED HET, ON TRACK FOR LIFETIMES FULL OF DICK :^)
>now we have nothing
You got a inspirational story of a lottery team clawing their way to the finals despite all sorts of slacking and retarded drama you queer ratchet fruitcake
we are anonimoose right guise? xD
>Reina's friendship, which was a huge part of S1, was barely even mentioned in S2.
the thing is that the novels are structured by year, so novel 1 was freshmens (Reina), novel 2 was sophomores (Mizore, Nozomi, Natsuki, Ribbon), and novel 3 was the seniors+ (Asuka, Mamiko, Taki)
>Well, maybe Kumiko thinks she has a chance.
Kumiko is pretty honest but she's got the canned response down for this perfectly
"I'm rooting for you"
All she has to do is say that and it won't matter if she even thinks she has a chance
>/u/ hideout the thread
I sometimes forget which Hibike thread I'm posting in.
So? Crying about getting nothing cause you didn't get "a cute little love story" when it was always going to be backseat to the sports drama makes you sound like a hormonally imbalanced weirdo
>little sister throws a tantrum how much she loves the band
>buy a ticket to see her perform and gauge whether she was honest
>performance sucks ass and her band gets lowest rank
Would you really want to see your little sister after this?
I actually lurk /a/. /u/ is my home board. >>151235132
Once upon a time it actually used to be fun and I hung out there for non anime shows. But I haven't used it in years since it went full sjw.
It's gonna be a threesome.
She knows Kumiko wants to fuck her and didn't want to have to deal with that awkward conversation, luckily she pretended Kumiko was talking about sisterly love and got away with it
Mamiko is literally too beautiful for this world, Christ, it's not even fair what the fuck
Because we already know they changed their development from the novels. We'll never see Kumiko Love Story sadly, but the hairpin and several characters rooting for ShuuKumi is enough
>characters rooting for shoe is enough
>the actual girl in question visibly disgusted by his presence
i'm rooting for you anon. that doesn't mean it will happen.
>She only wears it after Shuuichi confesses to her, which happens either next episode or in the OVA
Or, you know, never.
ANY HAIRCLIP IN THE SHOW IS CONFIRMATION OF THE BOOK END, WHICH IS THEY BECOME A COUPLE
A SMUG UNVEILING WITH A LINGERING CENTERED SHOT OF THE HAIRCLIP IS PRACTICALLY HARDCORE SEX, THIS SCENE IS GRATUITOUSLY UNAMBIGUOUSLY THE HET SIGNAL >>151233981
THESE TWO WILL BE FUCKING, IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS
/u/ CAN ONLY DO MENTAL GYMNASTICS TO FOOL THEMSELVES OTHERWISE :^)
Cute 2D girls are an essential nutrient, but they're more nutritious when they're smiling.
So.. uh.. why do we have one episode left?
Everyting went butter från experts, what the hell are they going to do in the last one?
This us what I mean. You guys blow it out of proportion because you don't want to accept that she cares about her closest childhood friend. It was even confirmed in an interview that the reason she's acting weird around him is because she's realizing he's growing up.
Get everything wrapped up in one episode.
>Taki-sensei shoots down Reina again
>Shoe confesses to Kumiko
>Asuka says he goodbyes as VP
>Midori and Hazuki remain irrelevant
>Who cares what Ribbons does
>You guys blow it out of proportion
Welcome to Hibike threads, Anon.
It's always "BTFO" this, or "it's over" that. Everyone blows everything out of proportion here. Makes sense, since this is an anime entirely about people blowing things.
You have exactly 1 minute to draw Kumiko and post it in this thread.
This is my take.
Thinking about applying to Kyoani school next spring
Shame we didn't any shots of keen white uniformed schools.
They didn't even make it to Nationals. Only Kitauji, some red suits, and these white suits with red ties.
They deserved it. Maybe if they actually read their music the could have passed barely to silver.
>but they put their pictures where they rest
>/y/ and /u/ BTFO on the same day
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LITERALLY INGESTING THE LIQUIDS PRODUCED BY YOUR SODIUM GLANDS
This is anime though, shit like this happens all the time. Not that hard to expect.
Though i knew from spoilers way back it wasn't going to happen, not like the primary goal was winning gold anyhow
its okay she removed them later
Confessions of love don't mean anything in this anime
The more Kumiko loves someone the less likely she'll get with them
The internet must have updated her social skills.
Despite no performance, this episode had all the feels.
Also was it autism?
And we're at the last episode with the scene that precipitated them dating in the novels just having happened.
Don't get me wrong, the het relationship in Chuu2 was handled abysmally in season 2. But they were dating.
The superior Oumae
Reina really was crushed this episode
>Fail to get gold for sensei
>Declare her love in front of the whole concert hall
>Everyone, included sensei, think is a joke
>Sperg out the love declaration again, in front of other people again
>Sensei still thinks it's a "I like you like a teacher" declaration
>The other girls realize she was serious
>Get pittied by the girl that used to hate her
Greatest face turn in the history of our sport
I mean in 2 years she'll be legal, just hang in there girl
when did Roboe get so smug anyway?
They could full on friendzone him or cut romance entirely, but I expect them to leave it vague so shippers can believe what they want. Put anything conclusive in OVAs so buyers can get it if they want and non-buyers will barely see or care.
Roboe has autismoe but she is learning how to socialize now, thanks Nozomi.
She didn't wear it in the novel either
wears it in the graduation
>you will never show Mizore about love and how to play skin flute
Autism can't be cute they said.
Did you get this from twitter? I went to save it because I save too many screencaps from threads, noticed it's 1200x675 which means you didn't save it at it's actual size so I went on twitter, grabbed an image, changed its filename to that of your image and got this
Kumiko tell me about your relationship with your sister
Hazuki got some screentime this episode, it's a christmas miracle.
I want her to, it's a weird fucking ending if it doesn't show us figuring out she needs to move on. It'd give the impression she'll just keep on pining for him. It's practically a bad end for her.
Harp on about Shoe winning Kumiko all you like, frankly I'm more invested in Reina and it makes me sad it'll end with her a) not getting what she wants, which obviously can't happen, and b) not coming to the realisation she needs to move on.
The show will end without her character having developed, she's stuck this way. The only development she had was plucking up the courage to confess and it got her nowhere
>tfw wasn't there to witness the comfy band talk
Played double bass for about 5 years. I miss that shit man. Playing in an orchestra was so much fun, even if we weren't that good.
M-Maybe there'll be a S3...
I don't know how well this thing sold in Nipland, but I hope the LN writer writes more source material. Or that KyoAni goes on without source material.
an autist wants to fist-bump you
what is the proper course of action?
