I stopped watching after S1 because this cunt is so annoying

Its still an extremely popular manga, that would move merchandise with an anime. Will always happen, it consistently still gets OVAs

I understand and agree with that sentiment. He's an annoying bitch who has not been given any real development through the seasons. However I do greatly enjoy the female characters, they were decently characterized. I kind of grew tired of the fan service pretty quick and became more interested in the character development.

Also a lot of season 1 was anime original.

Because I didn't read the manga at first, when I first watched TLR I got confused because Momo and Nana were introduced in the OVAs without any background whatsover; even in Motto IIRC they didn't have a proper introduction scene. Ditto for Celine.

Demoting Lala from being the driving force of the series (and only girl Rito has actually confessed to) and making her a side character, replacing her with Momo is the worst thing that Darkness did.

The good thing that Darkness did was Nemisis.

Both Lala and Haruna don't have the personality nor ability to move the plot towards a Harem. It probably would end up as a Haruna end if this Harem plan thing didn't exist since she is the most popular girl over there in Japan next to Lala. Momo personality gives them leeway too moving the plot towards the Harem direction without crashing much against the the story setting.

Nemesis becoming more heavily involved is a good thing because she is able play a good support role in guiding Rito towards the Harem Plan in ways that Momo can not that do and won't get stop in her tracks by personal feelings at times like Momo does.

I don't know about you guys, but I was content with Lala's character, she is kind to a fault. She never had a personality flaw or issue needing improvement and served better as a support character, doing so in Darkness was smart, allowing others to grow, particularly Momo, and Kategawa.

Darkness is what actually devolved her character into the "Randumb" archetype.

If you actually go back and watch the first season almost all the stupid things she does (excluding a few genuine ditz moments) are because she is honestly ignorant of earth customs.

It's just that most people forget about it because the first season is far worse paced and riddled with filler where she's just a retard.

I agree that she functions well as a side character (Having almost no ability to move the plot), but her genuine moments with Rito were some of the best in the series, and the level she's been sidelined too just doesn't do justice to level of importance she has to the story.
