Do you seriously think that you're some sort of a special being capable of reading the subtitles? Most people on this planet that know English can read them. The real difficulty is giving two shits about what the characters are saying, as they are just MP3 players walking on two feet with the playback setting turned up to 2x.

And for what reason? I can only think of two reasons why you'd come up with such an idea. One: you're retarded and think that actual people just gather around in a cafe and just splurge out a stream of words at each other. Or two: you cannot actually get through the episode if they talk at human speeds since you have so god damn much text to go through.

I really don't find their speech difficult to follow at all. The show doesn't really treat any of the characters like "normal" people and they all meet up purposefully because they want to discuss the events that are occurring.

Single cour. That is literally the only problem I had with O;9. The 'big evil plot' bomb got dropped in ep8, and as a result they had to use the remaining eps to wrap things up as well as possible at the expense of introducing much new or (at that point) unforeseen stuff.

It's worked out quite alright, but I would have liked to see some more mystery and occult stuff from the earlier episodes, and a bit more of a gradual/slower build-up towards the grand scheme overall. But then you'd be looking at 16+ episodes for what was essentially made to be just an add for the VN.

Was also nice to see how the fast-talking and Ryo-tits deterred so many people from watching this show or proceeding to shittalk it after the first episode. Thanks to this we've had some comfy threads filled with theorycrafting, frame-by-frame analyzing and other good stuff (like that /k/ anon coming over to explain in detail why Asuna missed so much with her gun), and with barely any shitposting. Not only did this make for a pleasant experience, it also highlighted, once more, how much of a presence reddit and mal maintain around these parts nowadays.

She throws around quips with Gamon, Ryo-tas and Myuu, she's capable of working independently from the group due to her previous job of being a reporter, after joining up with the main group she's often being the one connecting the dots with Sarai. She possesses a better understanding to references to occult because she's very interested in such things and Professor Hashigami's occultic research which is a major factor in them understanding the events unfolding. Also without her present episode nine in general would not have gone the same way since Miyuu literally states she's the only one she can rely on due to them having a pre-established relationship.

She's also, much more level headed from the rest of the teenaged cast members, especially Gamon who's largely feigning ignorance to the things going on in front of him by keeping up this facade of "quirky NEET GOD xD". Where Sarai is often visibly annoyed by Gamon's inane prattling she's shown to be capable of expressing her thoughts, opinions and explain theories to help the group understand figure out their next course of action.

Without her, the viewer would not have much understanding to what most things in the show mean and Sarai would still be scratching his head trying to make headways of his fathers research.

I could understand if you said this simply isn't enough for you to convince you but those qualities are all clearly present within the show.

Yeah, if she didn't point out Gamon was unable to accept the truth, it would've been harder for viewers to grasp that Gamon isn't actually retarded but just in full denial mode because he doesn't want to believe that his normal daily life has flipped 180 degree, one thing after another. Contrary to Sarai, who is very logical and has a hard time sympathize himself with others' seemingly irrational feelings, Touko is much more level headed and understanding.

That scene was really weird. The further developments after that got cut off as it seemed irrelevant in the latest episode. Though I can see Shun going to her as her method on going back to life is the only missing piece he is missing to finally act/intervene.
