Miyafuji was such a fucking mary sue that her character actually came full circle and was so generic predictable that it was really, really entertaining. Kind of like in symphogear with hibiki

Yoshika being 80% gayer than hikari also really helps

I mean I think all the characters have the potential to be interesting in this show, it's just really badly written, I don't necessarily think the original characters were better, they were just put into more entertaining and light-hearted scenarios as opposed to all this drama BS, which was much more entertaining and made them more likeable as a result.
