I guess near the third act, they could have Okabe acknowledge somethings he was doing(Letting someone's father die for example)was wrong rather than him going from point a to point b like it was nothing.

No it really didn't make them good. They appeared what in maybe that one episode where they raid the "lab"? Most of the time Okabe is just ranting about them and yet their plans are always explained by the main cast and we almost never see them except for what was mentioned above. NHK had this angle except the MC was just suffering horrible mental illness, and was ultimately delusional; here it just looks like they wanted to spend more time cranking out terrible backstories for forgettable characters. Lets all say it together now: This show would of been garbage if not for Okabe alone, everything else is forgettable.

Switch Kurisu's and Lukako's genders. Confused Okabe is the best Okabe.
