All in all, the first season was definitely better.

Second season started awesomely, but faltered.
Tried to do too many things.

Being an advertisement for the game, promoting old and new voice actors, advertising for new songs, showcasing the favorite bands, having an excuse plot as a means for advertising for the Sanrio Puroland Real Escape Game.

That was simply too much for the anime to handle.

Although I think it still could have handled all that better and more gracefully.

The last four episodes were all pretty bad, all of the resolutions to the main plotlines were really rushed. They really screwed it up by putting in two villains and two new bands while still trying to give developments to old bands. The Victorious plot should have been scrapped, and while I like both Arcareafact and BVL, one new band would have been enough to shake things up a bit.

The major difference is that Cyan is not from a different world and has always been apart of Sound Planet. You are right that Plasmagica is not represented as a typical MC band. They are not any more special than any other band in Midicity and are not relied on to save the world. The episode events in the game are pretty much just typical scenes you would find in a 'slice of life' manga. Granted there were scenes like that in the anime, the anime still had a plot with an antagonist. Plasmagica is still the band that is represented the most in the game and appears in more episodes than any other band, but not by much.

I think Sanrio could easily animate numerous episodes from the game in the same style as the short I posted early with Chuchu giving Retoree that figure of Sayaka. Especially with the money they make from the game I assume they have the funds to do it.

The thing that sets SB69 apart from other anime idol music rhythm games is that it's a promotional tool for indie bands that supply their songs to the game.
That's why one of the major events for SB69 is the 3696 (sankyou rockkyu - a pun on Thank You Rock You), where a few of those bands then perform together in some avenues like Big HIll City.

To be frankly honest, compared to its first season, it's a letdown.

The things that made SB69 season 1 unique and different enough from other musical anime shows like the CGI-band performances and the action battles were heavily toned down.
The handdrawn performances are not bad, and in fact, the very first one by BVL was quite superb. But it loses its charm if that thing isn't present.

I have been playing the game just fine with no lag or have experienced anything out of the ordinary. Events run fine, gachas work, and the songs play great. I will say this addition was rather pointless and I don't really care for it. However, a lot of people on twitter seem to like this feature. Events giving house items is kind of annoying as I would rather just get bromides. I will agree on that.

I haven't heard of this being an issue since data is tied to an account with a simple username and password, thus the only way to lose an account is to forget your username or password. Data isn't transferred the way some games work by initiating a device change code. I had to change phones four times in the span of one month due to the Note 7 being recalled twice and I had no problems. All I had to do was log into the account and the data on the account was available to me. I know you said you can't confirm those claims though.

Though I haven't had these problems, I think getting stuck on screens may be hardware limitations on the device. Points and ranks not being isn't something I have experience either. Some people may not know that you get more points for using bromides unlocked in a event during the time span of that event. I have noticed this. Though the cost of songs hasn't changed much (or at all?) in tour mode, trying to get angels to level up bromides definitely has gone up. I used to be able to get dozens of angels in less than an hour, now it takes practically all day to get a dozen unless I replenish my hearts. I can understand this being an issue, as it takes about an hour and a half to replenish 30 hearts to do the hardest difficult in angel events. Though this is annoying, it is not enough for me to stop enjoying the game. I can understand other for leaving though.

I do agree that the events are not what they used to be. However, I also only played events that I cared about, but I could never devote enough time to the game to rank among other players. Of course me playing only the events I cared about does not change the fact that recent events are not that great anymore.

Personally, I think the second season was much better than season 1 even though the latter third ruined a lot. I feel like it handled individual pieces of the show better than the first season did like character moments and such, which S1 had very little of. Both of them kinda fail in the big-picture deal (both of their "plots" were terrible) but S2 at least set up for something better, was better executed, and personally i found it more fun to watch. If anything This season finale was defintiely more fun than the last season, barring Vic's forced redemption which wouldn't be so bad if they didn't shoehorn the plot thread in last episode and waste half of each

It felt like they were building up to something when they talked about their past and released a song from their old band, but then other than that one scene and them smiling at each other while performing together in episode 11, it didn't really lead to any sort of reveal or proper confrontation between them.

I'm sure they will get more development in the game, and that's probably why they held back on it in the anime, but the longer they draw it out, the less fujos will care.

I know you mean specifically Studio GOONEYs' amazing and unique Myumon CGI band performances, but that's the exact opposite. CGI performances are the norm for music shows as cost cutting measure. I think we should appreciate all the wonderful 2D band performances that animator Tomokatsu Nagasaku gave us because it's a real gift. There was a good balance between the CG scenes and the 2D scenes, in my opinion.

Anime Japan 2017 is too soon to make any decisions for a continuation or not, since it will be held in March.
Anime projects take a rather long time, where everyone in a production committee has to come together at a later date to evaluate if they were satisfied or not, what could be improved upon, and analyze fan responses.

One thing's for certain. As long as SB69 merch happens, it means that there is interest for SB69 stuff. And that means that there might be a chance for another anime.

Despite my misgivings for the second season, I will admit that ultimately, the staff did a rather commendable job in handling and juggling all the various goals that were enforced upon them.
Being a multimedia-project anime that has to promote the game through downloadable codes in time for the TV broadcast, promote songs, promote voice actor units, promote the Sanrio puroland escape game, promote tie-in bands, promote merchandise, promote the new manga, promote the internet radio shows, promote cinemas and so on, it still at least ends on an okay note with a feeling of just wanting more of it.
