The real problem is that the writing is just complete shit. Every arc is just the black bulls going on some pointless quest and then the diamond kingdom invades. Most of the bad guys are completely boring and forgettable, fights seem to get resolved by random occurrence with little rhyme or reason, and the characters are constantly getting bailed out by captain yami.

And that's not even getting into this godawful arc where LN characters get introduced without any explanation. It's really completely baffling that an editor would allow shit like that to happen.

At this point I just blame the terrible rut the anime industry is in and just the shit we've been getting for more than a few years now and shows that start off passable but quickly turn to hot garbage within a month eroding anyone's confidence or enthusiasm for anything because even I've felt the same way and I tend to be pretty forgiving of things.

Like I really can't blame people for expecting the worst out of everything nowadays even when it gets a little shitposty at times. Maybe if we have a half decent year of anime again it'll improve but the last couple have been so bad I don't even really think I except anything positive out of Japanese animation anymore. It has this real mass production who gives a shit transparently profit oriented approach to everything now and just too much of the same hacks and studios that work the cheapest and quickest getting the most contracts. To me it's pretty clear what route the industry plans on continuing to take indefinitely at this point.
