Look at OPM with an unbiased opinion. Yes, the animation was great and all, but that was only for like 4 episodes out of the rest. Story-wise, it was average at best. Hardly any development. Just a satire show. Which is the point of this entire series. I rarely chuckled at some scenes. It's should hover around the score of high 7 to 8 at most. Ratings should average the plot/story, animation, music and characters. The one thing that tanked it the most for this series was the plot/story. In addition the characters too.

Yes, animated. Movies such as 5 cm/s are very, very beautiful slideshows, not animations. The Simpsons movie may have an art direction that certainly won't win many fine arts awards, but it is stuffed with extremely expensive, skillfully executed animation. It was stuffed with extremely expensive voice actors, and if I remember this right, was the first Simpsons anything that was produced in HD, so a lot of money probably went into working the kinks out of their animation pipeline.

There's some good animation, I remember being impressed with some scenes in a motel around the middle of the movie that had nice dialogue animation, but a lot of it was kinda clunky for an expensive animated movie. I would say plenty of the standout David Silverman scenes from the 90s TV episodes were better than anything in the movie
