Why can't people see that this was a good thing? If people haven't noticed so far, Kubo isn't some hack writer who loves pointless drama like Okada does. Sure it was put at the end for shock value/cliff hanger but watch it all be resolved next week.

Fairy has been shown several times to have stamina issues. Calling it now: in the FS, he'll push himself like last time and start out really strong and have major issues in his second half. This will knock him down to 3rd or 4th.
He'll show character growth by being happy for the people who scored above him.

Did you just completely skip over everything he said in episode 10? He's been busting his ass trying to make his career happen, traveling all over the world to train. They weren't in contact and Otabek didn't have the time to be tracking him down.
