It's gotten really different over time. Right now it's entering its final chapters, and while it's not playing out as convincingly as it could, these last few arcs have actually gotten my interest way harder than the rest of the manga. Of course, the fantasy fights are still an important element (unlike the labyrinths), but seeing it develop into a setting where problems are solved peacefully first is kinda fresh.

How do you think the plot is going to play out from here? The current situation with Alibaba and Aladdin possibly being the only sane people in the entire world is something you would usually see just before the final boss fight, but that would be a very short final arc for a long running shonen. However, if they manage to cancel out the indoctrination Sinbad would be more or less isolated from his current allies and would have to take on the entire cast alone. Considering all the political intrigue and war in the series I was thinking there would definitely be some kind of grand conflict at the end but it's a little tricky to get there form here. I guess it would be possible for only some parts of the world to be freed from Sinbad's influence or he might even just create an army of monsters or something but both would feel a little artificial.
