Monthly has no disadvantages to weekly.
You get more coherent storylines since theres no constant breaks, and better art quality.

Unless the usual happens and the page count drops to equal to 1.5 times that of a weekly release and they still take breaks for a single holiday.
Then the story stagnates forever until it gets dropped or axed.
