Facts about Yuuri’s FS costume (though difficult to explain without pictures):
-The part around the waist is transparent but actually has skin color fabric under it because if it was really transparent you would see part of the pants and underwear too.
-Under the jacket it has a (probably sleeveless) see-through purple leotard (with probably button type crotch part but this was not confirmed). Kubo was also curious about the underwear part and wanted to show him without the jacket (too bad it didn’t happen, I wanted to see that too lol). Lots of people on Twitter went “wooow” about the leotard but indeed it seems to be pretty common in figure skating costumes, because as they move a lot, if they just wore a normal shirt or underwear it would probably lose its shape or twist on the way.
-The shoulder area is not perfectly fitting like a normal jacket but it has some space left so that the skater can move his arms without compromising the appearance of the costume (with a normal suit it would be hard to move the arms plus it would probably go out of shape).
-Same with the legs of the pants, they are of course more elastic than normal suit pants, and also they have a rubber band to pass under the sole of the foot so that they are kept in place while skating.
-The knot-like part on the abdomen was exactly like in the anime even in the actual outfit, but the designer did not want to reveal how they made it (she said it’s a “secret”).
-The lining of the jacket is purple, though you cannot really see it becase it’s made in a way that it doesn’t flap too much when the skater is performing.
