I know we talk about this a lot already, but Kazuma and Aqua's relationship really is the best thing about this series.

On a side note, it's nice to see Aqua confirming that members of his family were worried about him. I know that "laughing at his death" thing might have been a slight exaggeration on Aqua's part. But it's still good to know that his grandfather rushed over to see him.

Also more and more mentions about Kazuma's homeland keep cropping up. I wonder if there is going to be a plot about the part members digging into his origins more or something?

I can see what you mean, but I think repetitive is a bit of a strong word. It certainly has a formula to it in a way, especially concerning their encounters with a Demon King general. But I think it's everything that happens outside those little boss runs that make this series special.

It's the little interactions in my mind that makes it enjoyable, plus the way the author ties everything together. I don't think I've seen a thread left hanging that hasn't been addressed in one way or another, which is more than I can say for a lot of other LNs.

But this volume and the last one has clearly been building up to something. I just don't know what, especially since the next volume is a Kommeko one. And I have no fucking clue how that is going to turn out.

Or any of the interactions between Megumin and Iris in volume 10 for that matter. Not to mention all of Wiz' and Vanir's backstories.

While not super important, it is still a good idea to take your time reading them to get a better idea of what is going on. Otherwise you're like Kazuma in those scenes, confused about why Megumin is calling Iris her underling.

To be fair it wasn't really Kirito levels bullshit power. It was Kazuma using beginner level spells and sheer variety to beat down some palace guards.

It wasn't like they were top tier fighters, I assume most of those were sent to the frontlines with the King and Prince to fight the demon army.

Rather than a "Kirito" moment, it was just a nice moment of satisfaction to see Kazuma actually get his shit in gear in a volume that was really harsh to him.

Plus personally I like to reread that chapter for the "what the fuck is going on" reaction from Chris. Can't wait for her to learn he uses undead skills too because of that.

Yeah, it's really great, I like how they actually use/exploit scenes or plot points from the actual show a lot too. I can't stand it when a series is rife with perfect and unique doujin material, and most of what you get is generic bullshit.

But her line in the Explosion 2 makes it pretty clear she has no tolerance for them.
