I'd say all three: Daily life of monstergirls trying to get into human society but, of course, we need a bigger plot arc to mantain the whole thing united. There's no need to do something overdramatic or edgy. Just to beign amusing about daily stuff. Of course, ass and tiddies are perfectly welcome in the entire thing (there's no need to force it).
What the manga needs right now is more daily life than unique situations. Still, those unique situations are good, but not in every chapter

I don't necessarily mind the new arcs and character introductions, but I also like the general slice of life elements too.

I thought the earlier chapters, where they were traveling and met the Yuki-onna, and the kitsune and such were nice ways to bring in new characters, while still getting to see the old cast shine.

Unfortunately I think this series is getting a serious case of cast-bloat. There's 7 girls living with Darling right now, and then you have the 4 Mon girls and Smith who show up frequently. So that's already 12. Then you have a few others who show up fairly often like Polt and Lilith, Draco, Kii, etc. Plus when you toss in other characters you've easily got over two-dozen monster girls already.

If crabman decided to devote one chapter to each girl, that would take him two years before he was done.

So I think he needs to stop adding in new girls and just spend the next year trying to focus on the ones we already have.

Fast forward about 15 years, and suddenly, they expect you to have a photographic memory of the entire last 3+ years' episodes to make sense of the plot(cf. Sopranos, Heroes, Lost etc. Sorry, I can't recall manga offhand that was like that). Like old items you thought were just a gag or one-off suddenly turn out to be pieces of some world-changing artifact.

Buffy was part of that wave that started with ST Deep Space 9, so naturally they were still early in that mold of plot structure. Buffy wasn't helped though because it was a mess and kept tripping over itself and it's director sucked.

Charmed by contrast seemed to do better in this regard.

But the ur example of all of this was how staid and boring ST TNG had become, whereas how breathlessly and seamlessly Deep Space 9 shook up the mold, with Voyager following and adapting. The old nearly all "self-contained episode" just wasn't sustainable in media anymore. People were tuning out.

It's mainly how the plot is threaded together that determines how easy it is to still keep up. Crabman has done a pretty good job. If you remember, they did plenty of self-contained episodes even during huge rapidly moving arcs like the Dominion War.

Go back to the original comics with either single chapters or small arcs of one (1) girl paired with one (1) brother of darling. This way you get to avoid haremshit, you get a variety of small stories (or just SoL goodness), you get to focus on one girl at a time and go real in depth on why they're all just so perfect, and you can add as many girls as you want without them competing for screen time as much.

Crabman's strength is in his character design and with so many monsters of legend he can get away with introducing new characters until the end of time. Whether that gets boring to you is up to your preferences. There's kind of a catch 22 going on right now with a section of Monmusu lovers wanting more SoL with lewds and the others wanting more plot and story because they feel the ecchi is too derivative. Yeah Papi's been a bit lacking in screen time lately. The last thing I remember her playing a big part in was the farm time adventure squad which was super cute.
