New Vivid Strike episode is soon. Talk about Fuuka and how badly she will hurt Rinne.
If Rinne won, then they would have to handle the Einhart match for championship, while they can just gloss over it if Fuuka wins, since the tournament is not important anymore.
And if there had to be Rinne-Einhart stuff, then it would take away yet more time/focus from Fuuka who is already quite deprived. So I hope they didn't do that. They didn't give Einhart much space yet (none in fights), so actually fielding her now at this point would be weird.
Damn, I want more of her in Vivid.
>they would have to handle the Einhart match for championship
Not really, they can just gloss over it in this case too. Everyone knows that Einhart would be the one winning after all.
Let's get this shit started.
So after watching Vivid Strike I decided to go back and watch the original Nanoha series. I am currently on episode 7 of Season 3. I fail to see what made this show so popular. It literally is just a bland magical girl show with bad scenery. Granted I have not watched the movies yet and I am not going to read the manga.
Can someone tell me why this was deemed amazing? I'm not saying it is god awful but it is just kinda meh. I'm enjoying Vivid Strike more than the original.
I want Rinne's anal muscles to grip tightly around my dick as I bust deep inside her butt.
It sucks that it was not very "fleshed out". Basically Fabia came, said "hey this is yours", then Fuuka tried the transformation, done. They didn't spend almost no attention on the device, which is kinda waste. Well, that is kind of symptomatic for the problem with Fuuka's role.
That's because the episode was about Rinne, like most other episodes. They had to find some time to give Fuuka her device so they stuck it on the end of the Rinne backstory and padded it out by having everyone do their transformation sequences.
Not like there is much to tell about it anyway.
Yes such a cute little mother fucker who doesn't give a single fuck.
Can someone explain this meme to me?
It's a lot of nostalgia. For it's time, it was pretty good and rather "unique". Today, it's more or less the run of the mill mahou shojou if we're talking pre-Madoka trope popularity boost.
I miss my beam spam and zenryoku zenkai.
I appreciate that they're trying to make the girls cuter and the series gayer, but I think some of the BD changes look worse too, I feel like they're sometimes just changing things just for the sake of making it different.
I don't miss those eyes.
also futaba thread: http://may.2chan.net/b/res/450044542.htm
>dat Saki post.
Ugh...this artist sure does know how to make everybody look cute as hell
Aand the shitty fight still hasn't concluded
Double K.O. is going to happen. I can feel it.
>Two whole episodes of beating each other.
This show isn't even like DBZ were the fighters are blocking and dodging they're straight up beating each other. These girls are going to be punch drunk after this fight aren't they.
Full size version is too large to post.
We Green Devil now.
Rinne is fucking gross
>TFW Fuuka is a genuine prodigy who can use other people's techniques
Can someone draw Fuuka and all her friends with all of their arms around them like that one football picture?
Fuuka is a fucking baller. Rinnie ain't shit compared to her.
>Rinne can't hold back anymore and is using her original voice
I'm putting my money on Rinne.
I'd drink her bodily fluids like a sweet heavenly nectar it is
C'mon, do it/
They made some really good faces this episode.
Both Fuuka and Rinne's reason to fight and win is so strong and inspiring, I can't tell who's going to win. Each speech and flashback that strengthens their respective plot armor are dead even.
Please lord, let me hit her so hard that I smack some sense into her.
She really does look a lot like Nanoha
>Seig trying to look cool and professional
This feels so wrong.
Another episode of Rinne beating the fuck out of Fuuka will be great
Fuuka fucked her up.
Vivid cats are not for fugging!
Only when she redid the exact same moves she took during episode 1 (wow real subtle Vivid team). She got stomped the rest of the time.
Fuuka really is Nanoha demon tier.
>Battle was decent and intense
>Fuuka and Rinne engaged not only in physical battle, but also in battle of ideals
>Fleshing out Fuuka and Rinne's motivation and emotional strength
>Swaying between melancholy atmosphere and blissful times meshed well with the direction
Nah. It was pretty good.
Please give me a second season. I need more Fuuka in my life.
Please remember to ignore "that" guy.
Probably won't happen, but a new season that focuses on the magical competition would be great.
Fuuka deserves it more.
>3rd movie most likely won't have Materials
This saddens me greatly.
And thus I still hold out for a GoD adaptation.
Fuuka is the only good thing to happen to the Nanoha franchise in 10 years and you would deny her a second season?
Super fluffy as a kid
I want to protect Rinne's smile.
Fuuka is more tanky than even Vivio. As expected of a Nanoha-like character.
Art quality aside, next week fight looks like it will be pretty good. I like that Fuuka is trying to use her palm here.
The beginning and end of the true fight. I am hyped. Let's see if it surpasses Vivio and Einhart's fight.
>Vivio and Einhart's fight
I want Einhart to have a fight too but it won't happen, anon. She is benched in this show.
>Einhart should have a match which will either be skipped entirely or done away in less than a minute in the final episode for Strike though.
FTFY. It's episode 10 and her barrier jacket form still hasn't gotten added to the website. She is not going to have a proper match here.
What the heck happened the day before that made Fuuka so scared?
I was thinking. In Vivid Vivio is going to fight Nanoha in the near future. Of course she wont win but will probably put up a good fight and surprise her Mama. But wouldn't that mean Rinne and Fuuka are on a similar level? Are we to belief all these girls can put up a good fight against Nanoha?
>but will probably put up a good fight and surprise her Mama
Only if her mama gives herself tons of handicaps, beginning with no flying or binding allowed and limiters down to Vivio magical power.
Rinne may be able to get Nanoha excited like Einhart did back at the beginning of Vivid. Fuuka, on the other hand, has only been specifically taught martial arts these past few months. She doesn't know how to do binds, shoot beams, fly nor make a shield. Nanoha would obliterate her.
Einhart still receives foreshadowing. She'll fight someone, at least.
Maybe Einhart and Sieg will spare a bit, just for fun.
There would be a lot of characters before her in my book, in a coolness list.
Besides the canonical two bosses, Zafira comes to mind (that voice!). Pre-Harunyan Einhart even, although you have to dig in for it because there are not much opportunities for that in Vivid.
Chinese translation for Vivid has caught up with Japanese raw.
Vivio and Miura's second fight is good as hell. Btw, if you haven't noticed, Miura is actually using her adult mode in this fight.
Forgot to quote, eh. Meant for
Zafy is so cool in my book that he even radiates badassness when he hands Vivio a towel when she washes her face. With his wolf-form maw.
Vivio has the same exact philosophy as Ginga.
See for yourself. https://tieba.baidu.com/p/4886020430
Reposting because I fucked up the pic.
Didn't you see the picture?
Seig's boobs are bigger than I remember them.
>Sieg should be comparable. if not stronger than Vivio in Saint mode.
That's more or less no. Saint Vivio is a fucking artificially boosted powerhouse that took Nanoha going balls to the wall and nearly killing herself doing so to win by an inch. Sieg is good but she isn't a be all and end all character. That's like saying Shirou wins against everyone because he has EMIYA experience drain in a way much greater than Sieg.
Pretty sure it's implied that Sieg is stronger than Olivie, at least in terms of PvP against human mages. And Vivio wasn't forced to become the Saint through accelerated and artificial means.
You mean the Saint core? What about it?
All the kids of Saint King lineage who are suited to become the Saint got the core implanted into them when they were newborns. It's what makes their bodies incredibly superhuman and magical powers enormous. Vivio is a clone of Olivie. She too has something like a core, and Jail was forced and accelerated to become a Saint, empowering her to Saint level. The core also lets them control the cradle.
Thing is, unlike Vivio, Sieg has almost all of her memories and her powers came naturally to her. She's a genuine power that embodies Jeremiah. I'm sure there's still room for her to improve to reach Jeremiah's true power, but for now I reckon she could match Vivio in saint mode.
Assuming so, yes.
Nanoha has that honest, normally-behaving girl demeanor. She's powerful but her front is deceivingly sweet/ordinary. Fate though naturally acts cool without any forcing it. When doing business that is, she is deliciously bashful outside action.
>I'm sure there's still room for her to improve to reach Jeremiah's true power
Well, Wilfried was primarily a scholar who exploited their genetic trait to make his descendants stronger.
Since every generation accumulates more knowledge and experience, and Sieg actually is primarily a fighter, it stands to reason she's actually stronger.
I love Nanoha more than any other chinese toon character so I might be biased, the only reason I don't think she is above Signum is because Signum is just too cool. She is the character I want to see fight the most in the new movie, after Nanoha of course.
I like how Nanoha has characters that are awesome without the clichy tough act and such. Nanoha is great in that, she's fucking modest, despite being almost the strongest there (or absolutely strongest since in a fight, Hayate would lose despite more raw power). I thing that making her a teacher/instructor was actually nice touch to underscore that personality.
Nanoha learned how to do magic in weeks. This is not DBZ where characters get stronger and stronger with training. They reach their peak after maybe a year. After that it's just experience.
It's interesting that her battle form in the end was nothing like the Sankt Kaiser form that appeared in StrikerS.
I remember how I was "zomg that looks threatening and nasty" when seeing Vivio turn into that first time (for once I didn't get spoiled, thank God!).
I recall I though at that point that the look is a resurrection of the ancient belkan whoever and it is supposed to be ancient. I think it also wasn't clear from StrikerS that the cloned Sankt Kaiser was a woman, I only realized that in Vivid manga. (Kaiser/King is masculinum after all). Back then I kinda assumed it was a guy and Vivio is opposite sex clone for reasons (the anime being Nanoha).
Begs a question, where does the BJ look come from? Is that something inherent? (because unlike Nanoha, Vivio probably didn't create the design in her imagination, when forcibly transformed in Cradle).
ah, sorry. Didn't occur to me it will be this confusing in the context
Nanoha is awesome but doesn't actually have the outer, for effect cool demeanor. Her awesomeness is very inner. The way I see it, that is.
>Miura is actually using her adult mode in this fight.
This is Fate's heart breaking
The thing about Nanoha is that when her coolness gets out, it shines with blinding light.
It is basically a hidden value that activates only under certain situations, contrary to Signum that posses it as a passive ability.
She can't hang
>beating the shit out of each other
>still smiling because it's a damn good fight
These two kids are the best.
The absolute best.
Why haven't they gotten married yet
What uniform does Fate wear in Force? Still enforcer, or something else since she's in the reassembled riot6?
Looks like still enforcer to me.
Nanoha was a mature smart kid, Fuuka is a dummy who thinks with her muscles. Fuuka may be really quick at picking up martial arts moves but I doubt she would be able to do the same with complex mathematical magic spells.
>They reach their peak after maybe a year. After that it's just experience.
False. None of the Vivids have reached their peaks yet. The Riot 6 gang also canonly got stronger slowly throughout Strikers and even after that thanks to both training and experience. Even adult Nanoha and Fate's raw power outputs are greater than that of their 9 years old selves.
Training and experience are inherently the same anyway.
>They had to get dressed quickly and Fate's uniform got dirtied.
Seems like they fucked during Vivio's fight, Fate seemed to be wearing her right uniform at the start of the match.
So according to Seig, the power of Fuuka's punch essentially comes from her hard bones, and that she also got what it takes to archive Shingeki.
>Rinne got hard muscles
>Fuuka got hard bones
What the heck is this? And Seig not acting like a moeblog is still weird.
Let's hope she will turn out headstrong after her mom and booby after her mom.
>You will understand the meaning of Reflection once you watch it
>reflection = mirror image
>mirror image of the main trio = materials
that was easy, didn't even have to watch it
>Even adult Nanoha and Fate's raw power outputs are greater than that of their 9 years old selves
Literally never stated in anything canon.
They were S+ mages 10 years after A's. When by the end of A's they were already around S.
>Vivio gets up TWICE from fully hitting kicks
"Vivio is fragile, the writers said so!"
That said this fight looked crazy good.
Mage rank is not true measure of magical out. Granted, you do need strong magical output to achieve a high rank. But ultimately it's a test mages take. If you pass it then you get a rank. The higher the rank, the harder the test. Nanoha and Fate were AAA mage around the time of A's.
What determines magical output is the core linker and that, IIRC, is determined by birth.
It was kind of nice to see Fuuka with more than a paragraph of dialogue for a change. I'm still rooting for Rinne though.
>What determines magical output is the core linker and that, IIRC, is determined by birth.
That is true but the linker core does grow along with the body. They can also expand it natural capacity with tools like this. Nanoha used to let Raising Heart drains her magic all the time when she was at Vivio's age too. It's only natural to assume that pre-nerfed adult Nanoha's magical output would be larger than her younger self because her linker core, like her body, is much more bigger.
Vivio's group wears these wristbands all the time when they are training at the gym in Strike by the way. Too bad that Rinne got nothing like this in Jill's gym.
It only makes sense that the best adult form would barely change anything. That's why Rio is the second best.
>Just as tough as Rinne, if not tougher
>Has just as much offensive power, if not more
>Learns other people's fighting styles in months, with no prior training
>Personally training under Einhart
Fuuka has the better skillset and potential, by far. The only thing Rinne has going for her is raw power.
Well, she's a cool professional fighter. What did you expected?
There's a natural limit once the core reaches its peak. Relics, cartridge, unison, and other various ways to enhances magical power either does so by adding to one's power or momentarily draws out power beyond the normal limit at a cost.
>Learns other people's fighting styles in months, with no prior training
Only some basic moves, though, all that time spent being their human sandbag wasn't for naught.
>people complained about how this show was trying to do that talent vs hardwork theme again
>it's actually about bones vs muscles
Or will be stronger. Sieg is still quite young and hasn't mastered her gifts yet. So yeah there's definitely room for her to get stronger and to develop her contribution for the next Black Jeremiah.
No, I'm pretty sure it's still about talent beating hardwork. Fuuka is not only a more talented fighter than Rinne, but has had much better training, although only 4 months. Rinne has been at this for over 2 years and she's struggling right now.
Better training plays a really big role. Overworking your body would actually stunt your potential instead of enhancing it. Even Jill admitted that she was wrong in her way of training Rinne this episode.
>Rinne is less talented and has worse training
I guess Fuuka's win is ensured. What I don't understand is why the series has spent so much time on Rinne if she was just going to get blown out so hard by everyone. In hindsight, the only reason she beat Miura is because the latter got overconfident, otherwise she would have lost quicker than she lost to Vivio.
Seig will never reach her full potential if she keeps nerfing herself and never fights seriously.
Doesn't mean they don't use bandages anymore. Heck, I remember them even bandaging Bardiche and Raising Heart in A's.
>Heck, I remember them even bandaging Bardiche and Raising Heart in A's.
Vivid also has clothing damage (with Vivio going underboob >>150504127 in most of her fights, although having most armor there), which is nonexistent in Strike.
I sure love how everybody forgets that Vivids are just doing sports. Put Nanoha in a ring where she loses if she ever leaves it and then make her fight Victoria or Sieg.
She wouldn't last a minute.
So is Rinne the magical girl equivalent of Broly? I mean think about it:
>Naturally stronger than most people train to be without practice
>Self serving guardian who uses said power for own ends
>The more damage she takes, the harder she'll hit
This episode got some nice dialogues. I hope the sub won't fuck it up.
Ok, this might sound pedantic but how so? I don't speak the language so I can never tell, and it seems to be there's never a single sub group people consider to be 'good'.
Not being troll-y or fanboyish I genuinely don't get it.
>Seig will never reach her full potential if she keeps nerfing herself and never fights seriously
Which is why she'll pass the mantle of champion to Einhart so she can finally close that chapter and pursue new higher horizons.
There are a good number of vocab words I know, and if they translate something in a way I don't like or have poor English grammar I avoid them.
Mostly I rely on anons mentioning something though.
Check the bath scene when Fuuka talks about what she wants to do with Rinne. The sub says
>she became my adversary when she looked at us like we're garbage
But what she actually said is
>the eyes that she makes when she looks at me, her opponents, and you guys. Those eyes that look like a muddy ditch
Then there is the last part where the sub says
>I have to overcome these 4 years
When what Fuuka thought is
>I will become someone who can receive her 4 years worth of everything
It's not about the championship. Seig is too kind for her own good. Many of her techniques are essentially for killing and destroying the enemies yet she gets freaked out whenever she hurts someone.
Yeah but that's phrasing. Those lines she actually said sound too stilted in English, the other ones sound better.
I mean it's not like they're completely wrong. I'd rather have a translation that sounds natural and flows well rather than a 100% accurate 1 to 1.
Yeah, Ron's always been more about functional translations over literal ones. But some people who would prefer the opposite don't like that since there's no decent group focusing on the type of translation that they want.
>it's not like they're completely wrong
They are completely different, though. In the bath scene, the sub makes it sounds like Fuuka was making an enemy out of Rinne while in reality, she is just saying that she doesn't like the way Rinne looks now. In the last part, the sub completely ignores Fuuka's feeling of wanting to accept and stop Rinne, and makes it seems like she just wants to beat the shit out of her for no deeper reason.
I don't know how to make the wording better and still keep the meaning but the sub is just plainly wrong in this case.
I disagree though. I interpreted it as saying she'll get through to Rinne by putting her in her place, which feels much more like a Fuuka thing to say. Think Kamina, decking Simon to make him see sense.
The literal translation feels way too grandiose.
She almost killed her.
>which feels much more like a Fuuka thing to say.
So you prefer rewriting the actual personality of the character with your personal interpretation of them, huh. Oh well, good for you I guess.
Other people may not feel the same, and the sub did cause some misunderstandings about Fuuka's feelings for Rinne. If you check the archive around when episode 5 sub was out, you will see some posts calling out Fuuka for misinterpretering Rinne. Meanwhile in 2ch and futaba threads of episode 5, people joked about the possibility of Rinne crying had she heard of the way Fuuka dissed her in that bath scene. Some people said that Fuuka was like a terrible bully who beats people just because he don't like the way they look at him but then other posts pointed out to them that the last scene in the episode shows that Fuuka does think and care about Rinne's feelings.
In any case, the dialogues in this week episode are particularly important in understanding the characters' feelings and motivation so I'm just hoping that Ron or whoever translates it find a way to make them sounds natural but still maintain the original meanings instead of rewriting them completely to something else.
I love Fuuka
Vividtrans is for archiving.
Amazon is too simplified and localizes, ergo they are the worst. Ron sometimes make mistakes, but they're decent overall. Vividtrans don't localize and I haven't seen anyone point out errors in their release before. Plus, from what I can tell Vividtrans is more descriptive and preserves formal speech and mannerisms more than Ron.
>Vividtrans don't localize and I haven't seen anyone point out errors in their release before.
That's because no one watches their releases. I tried watching the very first episode with their subs and had to turn it off after a few minutes since they were so awful that I went back to Amazon's crap.
It doesn't matter which shitty subgroup you choose, they're all trash. However, since EOPs can't understand all the nuances of the original Japanese that they're missing out on, the best idea is to choose the one that sounds the best.
>Vividtrans is for archiving.
Except their video quality is ass, at least the one release of theirs that I downloaded. Some great "archiving" material right there.
Really, if you take an entire fucking week or whatever to release subs, being absolutely flawless is just about the lowest expectation you deserve.
I grab theirs I've seen several other anons post caps using their release.
Or, you know, just someone who cares about subs that caters to my liking.
I could care less about video quality. I grab other releases if I want better vid quality.
Obviously, BD is the final release to get. But it depends on whether the ripper uses the subs that I like. When there's no good subs and they're all the same, then grabbing whichever BD with the best encoding is a given. But if all rippers used subs I hate, I grab the BD and the alternative group with subs I prefer.
She's yet to use a special move though. Maybe she doesn't have one right now, but that's one she develops later. If she had one to use against Vivio, I'm sure she would have used it.
She does have one, though. Maybe she didn't use it against Vivio because there are some special requirements that need to be fulfilled first or something.
Fuuka sounds too hostile and Rinne is misrepresented a fair bit. Seems like Ron is being overly liberal and like he's inputting his interpretations rather than just translating what is said by staying reasonably faithful to the original diction and tone. Japanese culture has a habit of talking indirectly and replies on subtly/implications, and such traits are a part of how characters behave, their mentality, and personality so it's crucial be true to their intended character.
Not yet. Rinne befriended Fuuka in the past, but now it's Fuuka's time to befriend Rinne.
Nonsense. Fuuka's head will be under Rinne's heel soon enough. Next episode, she will remind them.
