So after watching Vivid Strike I decided to go back and watch the original Nanoha series. I am currently on episode 7 of Season 3. I fail to see what made this show so popular. It literally is just a bland magical girl show with bad scenery. Granted I have not watched the movies yet and I am not going to read the manga.

Can someone tell me why this was deemed amazing? I'm not saying it is god awful but it is just kinda meh. I'm enjoying Vivid Strike more than the original.

All the kids of Saint King lineage who are suited to become the Saint got the core implanted into them when they were newborns. It's what makes their bodies incredibly superhuman and magical powers enormous. Vivio is a clone of Olivie. She too has something like a core, and Jail was forced and accelerated to become a Saint, empowering her to Saint level. The core also lets them control the cradle.

Thing is, unlike Vivio, Sieg has almost all of her memories and her powers came naturally to her. She's a genuine power that embodies Jeremiah. I'm sure there's still room for her to improve to reach Jeremiah's true power, but for now I reckon she could match Vivio in saint mode.

I remember how I was "zomg that looks threatening and nasty" when seeing Vivio turn into that first time (for once I didn't get spoiled, thank God!).
I recall I though at that point that the look is a resurrection of the ancient belkan whoever and it is supposed to be ancient. I think it also wasn't clear from StrikerS that the cloned Sankt Kaiser was a woman, I only realized that in Vivid manga. (Kaiser/King is masculinum after all). Back then I kinda assumed it was a guy and Vivio is opposite sex clone for reasons (the anime being Nanoha).

That is true but the linker core does grow along with the body. They can also expand it natural capacity with tools like this. Nanoha used to let Raising Heart drains her magic all the time when she was at Vivio's age too. It's only natural to assume that pre-nerfed adult Nanoha's magical output would be larger than her younger self because her linker core, like her body, is much more bigger.
