These both are pretty much the same story but told form different points of view: Gundam from "below" - most of the characters are just soldiers and Gineiden from "above" - the main characters are national or military leaders
So the main difference is that Gundam was more of a war drama while Gineiden is a political thriller
And I prefer the first one

It is. That arc didn't last long, it mainly fan service for the female audience and yes homoerotic overtones occur constantly in anime. Legend of Galactic Heroes is absolutely no exception. Can we ever approach these topics with some maturity? I mean its a 110 a episode series with like 6 prequel episodes. A lot more happens then two young boys under a blanket.
