No like a really powerful god has a really stupid hobby. With some of the series actually being them bug fixing the video game mechanics when there is a problem. Then you have them modifying the mechanics and putting out a system message to everyone in the world. So, random girl in a library and loves fantasy. She finds an old ass book with a fancy cover that she begins reading, about a young and budding sorcerer travelling with an apprentice and body guard.

The manga/show swaps to the new story about the young elven sorceror. He treats everyone with distinction, and is a pretty cool mentor guy who's ultra powerful with lots of respect. She gets to the start of the story, which has him finding an old ruin and magic circle, investigating on his own, and saying something along the lines of "What's this? Huh? These runes mention a death and rebirth/recycle, how curious!" or something like that- until the book shop/library owner tells our over excited MC to rent/buy the book to continue reading. Enthralled, she does this so she can go home and read.

However, the first episode ends on her being hit by a bus/runaway car.

Next episode focuses on the elf guy, he's pretty competant, quiet, he tutors his apprentice relentlessly, etc. However, we cut in to the female MC now inhabiting the other MC's body, the rune circle depleted, and the original protagonists personality is nowhere to be seen. Since magic comes from the soul yadda yadda, she is without magic, or rather, he is without magic, knows next to nothing of the plot, and unfamiliar with all aspects of the world, the MC struggles to keep a ruse up, finding balance, perhaps finding out how to set things right in the process.

Theres also a bit of comedy regarding the fact the MC is now inhabiting a dudes body, not to mention a very pretty dudes body.

To be fair, the elves i'm thinking of would be leaning more towards Western interpretations, so identifiably male, but also pretty, if that makes sense.

Still, the big old armored bodyguard friend is deeply peturbed at the sudden change in his liege, who is now looking at him and unable to contain a blush or two, and is immediately suspect of everything, especially since Sorceror is now boasting a big gap in his memory and has been 'locked out' of magic, relying on the protege for help.

Eventually, she can;t keep the ruse up, however, and despite making friends, an old blind seer or something realizes this isn't the Magician, and immediately tries to erase her or something.

I'm not really sure where this idea would go, perhaps some sappy friendship stuff. Or go into full awful implication territory, since a bunch of rivals probably want to get the TOP MAGICIAN out of the picture since he is now weaksauce.

A magical girl series with strict level designations, like pokemon almost.

So, you got your base stat, let's say fifty, which can increase by one for each battle you win, but you also have an emotional range stat. So, If you had won 5 battles, you have a stat of 55(30) with thirty denoting how much your power can vary. Super sad? You could go as low as 25, but anger jumps you up to 85. I'd add a bunch of rules like this, including elements and emotions and all that stuff, so the reader can work it out.

Then throw an x girl into it, who's stat no one can read...not even her! She has to battle every time, never knowing if she'll win, in a world where people hardly ever fight because they know the outcome unless the match is almost even.
