Not seen, but there are stone men. No arrows in AU anyways. In Steel Ball Run, Stands are a supernatural power given to people who cross through the Devil's Palm. They generally don't have a "humanoid" form like Stands normally have, and often appear as regular objects. The Boom Boom Family is a shared stand of multiple people. Anyone who finds and "consumes" a corpse part also gets a Stand, but you lost it if you lose the corpse part. Gyro's ability can also manifest itself as a Stand. They follow different rules than before. JoJolion stands are still kind of a mystery but seem to be hereditary and also given to people through exposure to the Wall Eyes. No arrow.

Stab yourself with the arrow and if your will is strong enough you get a Stand, if the arrow chooses you again and your will is strong enough it will evolve your Stand to gain a new ability. Killer Queen still has regular bomb making and Sheer Heart Attack in addition to Bites The Dust.

Requiem Stands are what happen when the Stand itself gets stabbed by the arrow, and it changes into a completely different Stand.

Also, the Beetle Stand is what grants Requiem stands.

Honestly part 4 is. I really liked how chill and understated it was compared to previous and later parts. It has a likeable cast and I kinda like how defeated villains don't completely dissapear. They just kinda go to the background or even join the main cast. In terms of tone and crew it's always really enjoyable on reread.

I will say Part 8's kinda doing it for me too, but some of those stand battles drag on too long and the monthly update schedule just has me frustrated because I want to find out how everything ties together, y'know?

ABtD is easily the best "battle" in Part 4 and one of the best in all Jojo. It's an 11 year old without a stand trying to defeat a really OP stand all by himself and getting to the point of contemplating suicide out of pure desperation. The tension is off the charts. The adaptation may not be perfect, but it would have to be absolutely incompetent to fuck this up.

I honestly have felt more tension from the anime for the past 2 episodes than I have from the manga, say what you want about "muh QUALITY" but the way they've carried the tension of BTD this episode and last episode has been god-tier, I've felt much more fear over Kira's ability than I have over DIO's.

It is, but I think the best parts of part 4 are the ones involving Hayato. Part 4 is at its best when it's switching between being really goofy and stupid and suddenly throwing actual horrifying situations at you. And this 11 year old gradually coming to the realization that his father has been replaced by a supernatural murderer that is not only beyond his power but also beyond his understanding is the best. And BTD is just a great culmination to that.

Giorno having to live in the shadow of Dio and Jonathan is one of the worst things about his character. He's always being compared to them in a way the other Jojos don't really get and I really hate that about him. I started reading the series when the Diego shitstorm happened and I hated that Fleetwood Mac got represented with a stand as shitty as Tusk. It wasn't until Act 3 that my opinion changed, and Act 4 is one of my favourite stands now. Araki came up with like half a dozen ways of making Act 4's power look fucking cool, and most stands are lucky to get one visually interesting application.

Act 4's stand design is really underrated. It's fucking huge, which makes it really intimidating, and the fingernail poncho is one of the better ways Araki has added texture to a stand design.
