Finding Dory wasn;t that good, so I'd discount it. Moana has the whole 'cultural appropriation' bugbear about as well, which might hinder it. Really, the biggest threat would be Zootopia. It's Disney, has a decent message about tolerance and judgement and is well made.

I'm not Chinese, I'm just a white guy who can speak Chinese. But in my experience, Chinese roughly fall into three categories in regards to attitudes towards Japan.

One group hates nips as you said, are very nationalistic, constantly watch WWII dramas that show Japanese war crimes, and generally don't want anything to do with Japan.

The second group is indifferent. They'll say they hate Japan if a foreigner mentions Japan, but only because they've been told that patriotic Chinese should hate Japan. If you press them, they'll admit that they don't actually hate Japan.

And lastly, there are weebs. Anime and manga is still very popular in China, and there are huge fans of it just like elsewhere in the world. It's just that they're able to differentiate in their minds between Japanese that produces anime & manga, and Japanese that committed war crimes against them and are unrepentant about it.

Movie is basically perfect for its first 50-60 minutes but drops off hard afterwards. We've been over this a dozen times already. You watch this once and refuse to pay attention, its emotional and enjoyable. You watch it twice you start to see the obvious flaws. You actually think a bit about how things worked out, how certain situations played out etc. and youll realize that even though being beautiful, it still forces cheap emotional reactions for the last 40 minutes. While 9/10 for the first part, it easily drops to something like 6/10 afterwards. I really wish they just remake the entire second half or at least make different decisions in regards to character development and plot. Its a pity, really.

Its not only that but also the fact that some actual relationships are being established that the movie does hardly anything with afterwards. The most enjoyable bit to me was the field trip that Taki took with Yotsuha and Grandma, but that relationship ultimately lead nowhere. They didnt even use it when Grandma realizes that Taki is in Mitsuhas body, its just brushed off as her saying "yeah lul I remember diz shit as well but ur story weird no one gun believe ye". Not even gonna start on all the illogical shit that they added in the second half, but the fact that the first and second part felt incredibly disconnected really are the worst aspect of it.

Just saw it for the second time and I think it might be even better upon repeat viewing.

Main issues are I think that the ending was either too long or too short to have a proper impact, they're clearly trying to sell CDs with the no-less than 3 insert songs, the plot kinda lost its pace the moment kuchikamisake starts playing, and the hero's voice is just slightly too high pitched that it became grating. And not that it was bad, but it's kinda bizarre seeing a film with an OP.
