RHCP 2 was one of the best animated and directed episodes in the adaptation though, easily on par with some of the better SDC Egypt episodes.

I agree, but with some nuances. Part 4 anime can be fucking amazing in the fronts you mentioned, but at the same time it's been terrible in a lot of moments. Dynamic, as you said, it's a very appropiate word: DiU anime can give us the best this Jojo anime adaptation project has given to us, but at the same time it can also give us some serious shitty images. Note that I'm not talking about QUALITY: Broken shots, with bad perspectives or composition (use of weight and space in the shot), etc... By far, DiU is the most interesting to watch, the three previous parts where a lot more functional and standard. I applaud David's aproach with this Part, but as I said, there are some issues.

And relating to this topic, the fucking backgrounds. For me it's the worst of this DiU anime: Lifeless CG backgrounds with no shading, out of scale locations and props (the interior rooms can be pretty fucking terrible), and sometimes horrible integration of the drawn characters in them, creating some of the problems I mentioned before.

But of course I'm only talking abou the bads here, otherwise it can be fucking amazing, with a lot of nice visuals. (>>150406168 ). As

PB and BT are special in some ways too. The direction was so on point I never noticed the limited animation when watching it for the first time: The crazy color changes for dramatic shots, the patterns, the usual palette swaps for action sequences, the music and voice acting... They created a very nice formula. Overall DiU is the one triying the most things from episode to episode and that's great (*). SC was the most "boring" or standar as I said of the four, even when it's first arcs were incredibly well animated (The cell scebe, Kayoin vs Jotaro, Polnareff vs Devo...).

(*) Also these things are amazing when you consider this is not an anime from a great studio with great budget, and they have to do like 39 episodes.

Can't wait to see Part 5.

The palette swaps were great - only downside is that the colors were boring as shit when they were just normal.
But I do miss the direction from part 1 and 2 at times. They've done some great things this part as well, but I somehow can't see them directing something like Kars' transformation as well in their current style. I'm not sure if it's the change in budget, composer or staff itself.

Maybe, I can't discuss you because I don't remember about the other three parts in that sense. The only epise I remember thinking "god, this is a fucking mess" in that sense was D'arby The Gambler Part 2 (and it was heavily fixed in the BD, thankfully. Araki seems to regard the ghost life just as bad as Diavolo's death. Both playing with concepts of death in "eternity".

I don't like to take DMQ as canon because for me it cheapens the defeat of Kira in Part 4 (his final scene in the alley, getting fucked by the hands and the last words Reimi tells him... by far, my favourite villain defeat of all Jojo). To think that he's not burning somewhere terrible and that he is just a ghost like Reimi was it's not enough, it dosen't seem fair to Reimi either. Kira's fate must be much worse than her was. MUH MEMORIES it's not enough.

And also, Kira in DMQ looks nothing like Kira, apart from he mentioning it, he could be any random fucker Araki created for the short story.

And regarding my sperg, it's not a bad oneshot.
