The anime teases with a couple of scenes that I'm sure were deliberately to set the yuri fans off, but I've heard the manga gives Kirino and Kamina more of an edge. I'm not sure if anything conclusive ever came to be.

Personally, as an anime-only fag I prefer looking at their relationship a budding romance, but I've no idea about the canon.
