I think it took a little longer than expected to get it's footing, but I think in the past 2-3 episodes it's really been deserving of my attention and I actually seem to care more about the characters than be upset that it isn't the original cast. It's a solid slice of life

Higashida being a generic tsukomi is downscale from the original Working, but I much prefer how the relationships in this series proceeded along much faster. It's nice seeing them in the process of dating for once.

It's super hit or miss. The jokes are either great and can be freely used multiple times, like the chocolate one, without getting old or they never hit at all, like the poorfag jokes or the creepy smile.

Same with the characters, for example, Miyakoshi is fantastic, but the blond haired chef is useless.
