Too cool for school, stepping away from explosions can only carry you so far. The family atmosphere, which Rie excels at, and the innovative directing plus the amazing ED (likely Rie had a hand in that, since the focus is camaraderie) is what made the first season so good. Leo & White's budding (romantic?) relationship was cute and intimate. Again Rie.
