In particular, Akito was alright but the problem was it catered to the director's interests, which don't tend to overlap with most of the fanbase, and the format wasn't good for that because of the delays and limited running time.

Alright, so here's the problem

If it's R3 we just undid Code Geass's ending - which while cheesy was effective. The show would turn into a farce like Dragon Ball Super where Lelouch needs to use the SUPER GEASS to SUPER BRAINWASH his enemies

If it's a sequel series with Lelouch as a supporting character - we risk getting Kira Yamoto'd.

Since this is Sunrise we REALLY risk that.

I think the best possible anime we could get would be one in the same universe but far ahead of Lulu's time

Yet I doubt Sunrise will not make use of nostalgia with tons of cameos

Basically we're in a bit of a bind here as for how an anime would be.
