It's not bad it's just not good either.

The stuff it does was fine when other people invented it in the 70s and 80s, and it was improved 20 years ago by other people. But Hero Academia does not improve anything about battle shonen, it does nothing different compared to let's say HxH, Naruto or One Piece that came out 20 years ago and no matter how much you hate them definitely have better writing than something like Ring ni Kakero, Kinnikuman or Hokuto no Ken that were amazing for their time and deserve all the praise they can get but sadly do not compare to nowadays manga.


I can't say that Hero Academia or Black Clover have better writing than OP or Nardo despite them coming out a long time later, at best it's in the same tier in that regard

None of those did anything different either. Hell Nauto is a ripoff of Ninku a much superior ninja manga that was in ump five years prior. Anyways it seems like all you're doing is knocking it for not being original forgetting that execution is all that matters.

hori really needs to do something with it besides training/battle/rescue arcs. if he could find a way to get the characters to grow and advance without resorting to such cliches then it'd be perfect imo.
