I'll start the thread off with a dump of the first chapter and maybe introduce further characters (with some spoilers) and maybe some pages along with that. while talking a bit about the cast.

Been gradually reading it on and off. It's kinda fun, but feels a little rushed at times and slow at others. Is it a LN/WN adaptation? It feels like one.

Kail - The MC, a magical swordsman among the most powerful of humanity. He's transported back into the past with all his memories and then some. Serious, stalwart and smart. He's a great MC, frankly as he makes good plans right from the start and doesn't play the typical MC male game of being an idiot. With him guiding the story, there is a real sense of connection he has to new characters introduced throughout the story and it's nice to see. Refreshing, even.

Riize - Childhood girlfriend. She is Kail's love interest early in his life. She's loud and demanding and emotional, but a skilled homemaker and brawler. But, she died early on and was the catalyst for making Kail swear revenge on the demons.

Seran - Childhood friend. Worthless dude, a lecher, not very smart, easily influenced, basically a leech. And ridiculously strong in a fight. Far stronger than Kail, and uses any means to win and is constantly, but secretly, training himself basically for the fun of it.

Urza - A magical elf. She becomes Kail's wife in the past's future and is Kail's lover, but she dies in the final battle. In the current timeline, they just meet and Kail slips up by calling her by her "true name" when NO ONE should know it but Urza herself. A very serious person.

Yes, it's based on a Light Novel (same name) which itself was based on a Web Novel (same name). Same author in each one and it's taken almost EXACTLY from the Light Novel source. The author himself is the cause of story pacing, but the manga has 7 Volumes to work with so far, so it's not filler by any means.

However, only up to half of Volume 2 of the Light Novel is translated and the only ones doing it have stopped but insists they haven't dropped it. 11 months without a single word says otherwise.

I'd LOVE to see someone else provide links to another source that might be translating it or something. At the pace they were working at, it'd take years to catch up. The manga has already passed that group.

Well, probably because it's not published in a big magazine and the fact the Light Novel itself is monthly and not extremely popular. With 7 Volumes, it can catch up fairly quick, but more than anything, it's ongoing and not a completed story yet.

Basically, getting into this means reaching the end in a matter of hours and then getting to wait a while. But, it's worth keeping a bookmark for, I'd say.

Sildonia Zeeles - The name of Kail's magical sword. A sword without equal in ability, it also has an artificial spirit attached as a gem in the hilt by the name Sildonia Zeeles. It's also the same name as the ruler of the magical kingdom of Zeeles long gone for a thousand years. A kingdom FAR surpassing the abilities of current-day humanity. Sildonia is literally a magical copy of the king, though with only about 1/10th of the memories. Also a massive glutton in the shape of a 12-year-old girl.

Demon Lord - The absolute ruler of the other half the continent, he sends his demon army to eradicate humanity after 300 years of peace. For 300 years, the Demon Lord was extremely moderate, passive even. It is unknown if the Demon Lord of the future is the same or not...

Demons - Humanoid but demonic. Far fewer in number but much much more powerful individually. Each looks different from each other, no races, but they all have unique horns and a fierce personality.

Seraria - Kail's mom. A housewife and not a very good one. Very loving and childish. And also one of the most powerful mages on the continent. She just likes to read and doesn't actually have any position or influence. Literally a housewife.

Mileina - Princess of the Kingdom of Zirgus. Previously, she had died to beasts at the age of 16. Kail plans on using her this timeline to rescue her and elevate his status so he can gain influence to rally humanity together against the demons. Turns out, maybe the beasts weren't there on accident, and maybe Mileina is a lot more capable than Kail imagined her.

Zentos - Best knight of Jirgus. Zentos is an extremely loyal man in the service of the Kingdom of Jirgus and one of Kail's most profound comrades in the future. A person Kail desperately wants to bring to his side and save.

There are more characters but revealing too much is bad.

Chapter 1 goes slowly, and here's the end, but the rest is good at the worldbuilding and doesn't linger too long on any characters, much. It is a fun and engaging read, I suggest taking the time to check out the manga (in the OP).

Of course, the girls are all fanservice beauties, but most them have fairly interesting personalities as well. Kail's love interests only complicates many things, as well.

Another thing, probably the primary thing, I enjoy about this manga is that the MC is cheating by having foreknowledge of all the big events and has a great memory. He knows where to go, when, and what to do to get around problems. And he does.

Things like the location of the greatest treasure on the continent, holding the most wealth of any nation and artifacts beyond compare with equipment that's unrivaled! And it's completely unknown as to its location, there are secret passages, passwords and tests, monstrous beasts protecting it, traps so lethal that no one could survive and takes days to complete if you even COULD...

...but fuck that, I know I can just dig to it. I need the money.

And while having knowledge of the future is great, it's not like the future is immutable. Right from the beginning, he's changing how time flows and things are not what he expects. People who he remembers to be dead are hard to handle and the stories he wasn't there to experience aren't as true as they were relayed.

Like how the Princess he intends to save wasn't attacked by simple beasts, it was quite a lot more complicated than that.

At any rate, I hope you all give the series a go. If anyone has read it, by all means let's talk about it. If anyone has read ahead in the raws of the LN, I'd like to hear it!! Even more than that, if there are TRANSLATIONS beyond the single group who stopped, I'd love to read it.

Overall, it will probably be a mediocre series, but for now it's nice to have a strong MC and plot twists that make sense and fit the fantasy world nicely. it feels like I'm actually reading a story, not some author's developing manga based on what the reader's want.

That's simply due to his younger body (and he was still in his prime in his old life) along with writing down everything off the bat so he wouldn't forget. And he still ends up forgetting shit.

And the biggest issue that also stems from TNS's lack of popularity is that even if other groups wanted to take over for those two, the WN was pulled off because Alphapolis is equivalent to Jewpress and are faggots, so the only way to do anything is to buy the LN.

I don't know any anon who claimed to have bought the LN, but I remember some claiming to have bought the manga (or was that The New Gate? I forget) but he got really pissed at how even the physical version was only barely better than the shitty digital. I'm guessing he's not bothering again.

Followed the manga on batoto, the manga is alright, sure mc is stronk and coupled with his knowledge from future or timeline, but somehow it didnt annoy me as much.Not gonna be mad if it is dropped or ded.

It's not bad at all, but to bad it's a 1 month chap.

I loved the series and read the WN when it first started but when the series became famous got it's light novel and the author replaced all prior volumes with summaries.

Didn't it sell enough or are the WN and LN virtually the same?
Also anyone knows where can find maybe archived WN chapters, the webarchive sadly has lots of chapters missing..

The new demonlord created some cult, they were so fanatical, not even the fear of death would make them speak.
But would demons suddenly follow a human, especially like that one guy who seemed to look down so much on them?

The demonlord might be simly evil or maybe has some reason like being mistreated because was a half-demon or something. Rose to power and wanted to travel back in time to undo whatever.
Why is it not possible that he saw the war as lost and decided to travel back in time to start again from beginning and this time without his prior mistakes, to win the war.

See, I dunno who the Demon Lord could be at this point. At first you think, "oh, it's a Demon who wants to change his own past. Something happened in the 300 years of peace that shouldn't have."
Then you start to think, "The Demon Lord is a NEW and different Demon Lord than the peaceful one and is using this forbidden magic for nefarious reasons."
THEN, Kail talks about how he thought the Demon Lord was hornless and you start to think, "Kail is the future Demon Lord and this isn't the first time this 'New Game+' has happened."
I did hear tell that it seems confirmed that Kail and the Demon Lord are different people, though. But we just don't know WHO. And you're right, why would the Demon Lord care about whether or not his own Demons were dying? His entire point with the humans was literally creating mountains (plural, mountainS) of human corpses with their life energy sucked out in order to time travel. It all wasn't going to matter in the end. So he could be a demon, he could be a human, he could be WHO KNOWS what. And why.

Aggression on your part aside, Kail himself explicitly says that the demons before the invasion compared to the demons after are acting totally differently. After the invasion, they were fanatical and merciless and cared NOTHING for their own kind and only wanted to slaughter. He says they were truly scary. But when he meets the two demons in Calan before the invasion this time around, they weren't really scary at all. The female demon wasn't even hostile. It's clear she didn't want to kill humans to begin with and was strictly opposed to it but did it out of necessity, and even then was upset she had to. Hell, she even gave up in her fight despite her pride and constantly offered exit plans.

That seems to be the fundamental underlying story for this series; demons are misunderstood. But something happened to the Demon Lord/New Demon Lord that causes the demons to freak the fuck out and become extremists. Given this, I'd say it's very possible for a cloaked, shadowy, hornless Demon Lord to actually be Kail. The same Kail who, in his efforts to save humanity by saving certain people and killing others, ended up making it EVEN WORSE than before so he decided to try again with the God Dragon's Heart and perform the forbidden ritual on every human on the continent in order to travel back in time and try New Game ++...but got killed instead and there's a loop happening now.

Who knows? It'd be nice if people would provide raws. They do exist, after all.

Like, those who read the manga don't know: Sildonia Zeeles was not a king but a queen and basically didn't make public appearances. She also used magic and stuff to make herself look 11-years-old and her body eventually just stopped aging. So, the copy image you see is literally what the "king" looked like. In the Web Novel, they have the time and space to just talk about stuff like that.

I'm sure Roel is likely a strong guy who comes into the story later. It'd be unlikely for one of the few archmages on the continent to settle for being a housewife to a practically invisible man. And she loves him, like a lot lot.

It's very Japanese to not even remember your father, though. Throughout the story he can't even recall him. Something tells me Roel might be a demon, and that maybe Kail is actually half-demon himself. Now, with a doubled up soul that can cast the highest class magic (something literally 2-3 people can do) he might really fuck shit up. Before he just used magic to heighten his stats, like Zentos. I'm hoping he meets a magic teacher this time around and can start casting awesome shit.

It's true. Probably the most interesting part of this series is the characters and how they are already established in the world. It's why I'd like to see the Light Novel translated entirely even more than the manga.

For example, in the manga, the archmage of Galgan wants to talk to Kail sincerely because he's Selaiya's son. He mentions a list of activities and offhandedly remarks about taking him up in the sky on the wyverns but they just agree on lunch.
But in the Light Novel, the archmage is more, "we could even get you onto one of our wyverns and I'll help you fly the sky with me, it's pretty cool" and Kail responds with "are you fuckin' with me? I know that's a state secret and if you took me up on a govt. wyvern, let alone taught me how to tame and ride it, you would have me killed" to which Alzaard says, "nah, it's totally fine by me. You could just ask your mom when you went home anyway; she's the one who developed the entire process and method on the first place before turning down what is basically my position now. It'd be fine, we owe her and it's no big deal if it's you, honest."

Stuff like that gets left out in order to keep manga pacing but actually like this more for the story. The inner monologues, the tangential information, the extra dialogue cut is a shame, but AT LEAST IT'S GETTING TRANSLATED.

This is a really nice bit of reading comparatively. But, I don't think the names are "localized" as well. I mean, Seran, Lize those are still find fantasy names, but "Kyle?" I'm not as keen on that as "Kail."

It's my name, too, so it's kinda unnerving.

I can't wait for each month for new manga chapter so I just read the LN. Currently at vol 6.

Spoiler below.

Kail equal to Demon Lord is very probable.
During his duel against Seran in vol 3, we see him doing the demon magic unconsciously.
On vol 5, the current demon lord Luiza thought that he is a demon the first time she sees him.
Sildonia also warn him to keep his emotion in check because his body might transform into a demon if he lose control.
Kail also mentions that the demon lord from two years later has gotten stronger than he is from previous history.
