Here's an MBTI related question I've always had, but haven't had a good place to ask it.

What is the fucking point of being an S type? I've never heard anything positive about it. They don't actually sense better than N's. The only way I've read it described, is that N's can think "outside the box" and S's can't. The most negative thing you can say about an N is that they can be kinda spacey.

I had someone tell me once that they didn't like the big 5 personality test, because of the openness score, having a low openness score was a purely negative trait. But if you look back to MBTI, what does openness strongly correlate with? N and S.

Basically, I need someone to explain to me how the second letter isn't a straight measure of intelligence. And how the N's aren't the master race, and S doesn't stand for subhuman normalfag.

Kinda unrelated, but I remember reading a book (or a compilation?) of Carl Jung's, and about the sensitives, he said that they're more common in women, and while they might appear meek and dull on the outside, they might have a hidden "talent" on some sort. At times they can have an aura the extroverts can't really explain - one that impresses them, but they can't say why - because it affects the unconscious.

Oh, and finding a date is hard for them, because of their perceived (by other people) apathy, and whatnot. They are not feminine and gentle in the people's eyes - those girls are a bit tomboyish.

You should all read some of Jung's written books. The MBTI thing can't help you understand yourself much compared to them. Read them, and build a "profile" of yourself. Which traits match, and which don't? It's impossible to cover your entire personality with this - because - you know, we're all different.. But you'll get pretty darn close with this.

If an introvert like me is pushed into a position where I need to engage others socially all the time, then it is only natural for my introversion to shift to extroversion.

Same with the other aspects, judging can easily shift to feeling with maturity (or the other way around). Impulsiveness can change to deliberation with training.
