How long will it last? It pretty much always ranks in the middle and other series are in line to get axed before it. There are other series (Hinomaru, Samon, Kimetsu) that sell worse than it. There's really no reason for Jump to cancel it because there are always better options for cancellation. At this point, will it just go on until the mangaka gets tired of it? I could see the series going on as long as Gintama if he doesn't get sick of making it
>How long will it last?
Its a gag manga so probably not long. Gintama lasted as long as it did because it was a huge success on the anime and merchandise front even if its manga sales weren't in the top of crop. Saiki is only a middling success in the same vain as Sket Dance so it'll probably go for as long as it doesn't completely drop off the radar.
Sesuji is so lucky, it just got another two cushions in Amalgam and Number One. Also it's finally exiting its unpopular competition arc, so it's probably out of the woods from now on. I'm happy for it, now if only the scans caught up.
>Red Sprite (END)
They sure are burning through new series at the moment.
Spring weapon and amalgam will die next, the soccer series and demon plan won't last either.
They all feels so cheap and mediocre, as expected from amateur mangaka.
>Red Sprite (END)
Is Mono a boy or a girl?
Honestly hoping Demon's Plan does better than Black Clover. Too early to judge your story's progression, but the art is solid, and the first chapter is far superior to Black Clover and Red Sprite. Felt more for this chapter than all the chapters of BC combined, even though it was full of saucegay.
Nips have let me down too many times before, but I'm hoping just a little bit.
I think Jump might hold off on canning Amalgam and Number One. They only have 18 regular weekly series at the moment with Hunter and World on hiatus. And Gintama is ending in a few months.
They might not cancel anything next round, because they don't need more free space, they have to already publish half a dozen one-shots every week to fill in World Trigger's slot.
>albeit it was a bit generic and directionless
I just found the whole electricity thing kinda neat. And airships are always refreshing. At least it wasn't overly edgy or isekai shit.
What's Viz going to do now? Toriko and Love Rush ended as of this week and now Red Sprite is gone by next week, that leaves 3 free slots along with the gap left by WT. I can see why they're so hesitant to add new series now.
Perhaps they'll finally add Haikyu?
Average excluding finished series
This is the first time Black Clover has been out of the top 5 since last February.
That being said, yes, I expect it to continue to fall. The last couple of chapters have been shittier than prior ones.
I'm betting its another Hinomaru, great rankings but bad sales. I know they're useless for overall sales but Amazon Japan has its first volume beneath the next Kimetsu volume in its selling ranking.
I love his work, I hope he get a weekly series in Jump some day
Stop doing what made the manga popular and do a pointless and longass arc with Azami and Central they said
Peoeple are gonna enjoy it so much they said
>Original: Sunohara Robinson, Art: Keisuke Goto
this oneshot is interesting, Senyuu author is a funny dude
the artist Keisuke Goto have work as an assistant on over 20 different manga (well, according to his twitter account at least https://twitter.com/510oo015)
PRIME SALT BEAM has really positive reception right now
I can not find neverland more than ok. I never thought death note was spectacular or anything, but the story had intensity, you know. neverland is kinda cold. the plot is intersting, but the he characterization is meh.
>replace Bleach with Red Sprite
>axes Red Sprite afterwards
no, no, I recognize that. assclass was a phenomenon. but it doesn't change the fact that the story and the characters were terribly boring. so, if it's to sell well, bring another mangaka, not matsui. he has great ideas, but his writing sucks.
>if it's to sell well, bring another mangaka, not matsui
>if it's to sell well, bring another person that likely won't sell as well because muh opinions for a magazine I don't even buy
lol, where will the series even go after Azami? He feels like the final boss of the series. Maybe 1 arc/saga after he's gone that's more like the old souma arcs but I don't see this series going for 5 more years. My guess is it ends early 2018 max.
I really like the art now.
The only thing is that the author abuses chibis way too much and sometimes big hands
Other than that it's unique as fuck (I know unique != good but still)

I dunno international cooking competition.
Like tons of judges come from overseas, but everything untill now has been only on national scale.
there should be other tootsuki tier cooking schools in other countries.
It's not even a controversy since everyone agrees it was stupid. They added LN characters into the manga and their introduction wasn't good to fill in the gap. Feels like it's assuming everyone has read the LN already.
niggastream's bleach translator has picked it up. it'll definitely end soon.
He did naruto, it ended first. he took over bleach it got axed in a year. he took toriko... axed. he took seven deadly sins it's in its final arc now. demons plan finna get fucked. he's cursed af
It is actually depressing what's happening with Souma
It's not just something that slowly began to get less and less popular, it practically sunk like a stone overnight in the span of a few chapters
The only thing you got right is the art being decent
> even though it was full of saucegay.
The fact that the entire first chapter was essentially the entirety of Part 1 of Naruto complete with "I will get you back" strikes me as something that would be really fucking tired over time
There's only one man who can save Jump now
FKS confirmed that Jaimini's TL is faulty.
I don't remember what it was exactly, but for once MS actually got it right.
Small note no one cares about; the cover page wasn't translated by the person who translated the rest of the chapter, don't hate him.
Yeah, I guess it's just a combination of long-running series ending, and non-popular series ending.
But when you look at the image that compares all the series running now vs the series running two years ago it's quite the list.
Vote your favorite 3 chapters of the week
Less votes last week probably because WT and One Piece were absent
Only if you know Spanish
We discuss the chapters anyway
The author's a 2ch artist and did a 3 chapter one shot before this, this is basically his first actual series
I like his style but he goes out of his way to avoid drawing
Also I forgot to add that it's weird because he was perfectly fine with drawing them in his pixiv artwork

I wouldn't say this is less competitive than now.
If anything, I'd say Amalgam has less competition. Kochikame, Bleach, Toriko, Nisekoi, AssClass all ended. Gintama is ending soon. World Trigger is in limbo. Jump has a gaping hole in its lineup right now.
But see, without the existence of Kagamigami and Best Blue, Samon would be toast.
Amalgam debuted with no cushions at all since Red Sprite ended the same issue. Its only hope is to somehow rise above Sesuji and hope Number One bombs even worse.
Amalgam has to compete with Spring Weapon as a newbie, and both of them have to at least compete with the bottom-ranking established series. If it consistently outranks those it has a chance, but honestly the first chapter was so painful I'm surprised it beat Spring Weapon. It was blatantly obvious blending of SNK and Tokyo Ghoul with MUH HIGH SCHOOL LIFE added in to make it "unique" and "relatable". There's nothing redeeming about it besides the art, so it will likely be axed next or right after Spring Weapon.
I'd say this past year has been the least competitive Jump has been in a long time. Only 10 manga ended, and at least two of those were natural ends, Kochikame and AssClass. Bleach, Toriko, and Nisekoi were probably rushed but were given some time to wrap up, so only 5 new series were cancelled in 2016.
2015 had 12 new series cancelled.
2014 had 8 new series cancelled, and 2 series get transferred out.
2013 had 9 new series cancelled.
2012 had 8 new series cancelled.
2011 had 7 new series cancelled.
Also, this LN were a fucking mistake.
Quincie fell like your average Chuuni LN character with their extremle complex and broke abilities
He let Kishimoto-sensei down.
Suicide by overwork soon.
If the chapters before 8 meant anything, then
Amalgam chapter 7 would have been 3rd out of 14.
Amalgam chapter 6 would have been 4th out of 12.
Amalgam chapter 5 would have been 4th out of 15.
Amalgam chapter 4 would have been 3rd out of 14.
Instead chapter 8 was 12th out of 13.
It goes both ways too, if something is placed in the bottom, it doesn't mean it's doing poorly. Neverland would have been 8th out of 16, 7th out of 14, 9th out of 13, and 11th out of 16 for its fourth through seventh chapters.
Neverland was consistently placed in the bottom half of the magazine by editors before it was actually ranked. Even in the bottom 5 once. Then Chapter 8 was ranked in the top 5.
Well he was facing off against the character that everyone hates the most and it dragged on for far too long and everyone hated it. Now that it's done it'll probably jump back up, especially since we're getting Erina x Souma shipshit and nips love her.
I'm actually more surprised it isn't bottom 5 again.
Looking at the Author notes Horikoshi might have had some kind of breakdown due to not being used to working as hard as he's had to. apparently he's been feeling better though.
I'd like to see Hero recover a bit more but it's good to see Neverland doing well because it's kind of a breath of fresh air to me.
I hope Hinomaru survives too- the art is pretty good and given I don't know shit about Sumo it has done a good job of keeping me interested.
The first twist was both interesting and disappointing. I was hoping to see actual nuance in characters instead of generic assholes and the protagonists.
Them getting super powers is pretty lame, though. What the fuck are they going to do with those powers?
When Gintama ends, I hope that some mangaka will make a new series that isn't a high school one and has hilarious offensive comedy as well as a great story (and goes on for a long time).
It's because they fucked with the ending of Yu Yu Hakusho which did NOT sit well with Togashi
From my understanding YYH singlehandedly saved the magazine in the early 90's so now Togashi can do whatever he wants
It's funny how people here think of ranking as something extremely objective. Of course, those with more votes will be at the top, but there are numerous factors that can make this vary:
> The volume of a manga started to be sold and needs to be highlighted
> The chapter has an important scene and needs to be highlighted
> Anime is on TV and needs to be featured
> The first volume will come out and needs to be highlighted
That is, not always a series is at the top because it is being well received (unless it stays there for several weeks), and not always a series leaves the top because it is being received badly (unless it is out of there for several weeks).
>I'd like to see Hero recover a bit more
It had good rankings all throughout this arc . Not even sure what happened with 109 other than Jump needed to give a push to other titles and OP retuning.
HxH sells a lot, simple as that.
He come back whenever he feels like it, do a couple of chapters, release a volume which sell millions, and go back to hiatus once again until he feel like coming back again.
>Submit something good
More like submit something that'll sell.
Like demon plan, you can see that it's going to be a terrible serialization, but thanks to fujo-pandering it will survive.
Pedal. For one thing its actually getting people into cycling much like Slam Dunk got people into basketball. Nobody still gives a shit about volleyball after Haikyuu because only fujoshi read it.
Remember when /a/ said Neverland will get axed in 10 chapters?
>using manga sales as prove of popularity
DB super has shit manga sales and is the biggest franchise right now.
Yowamushi pedal is semi mainstream, it's in every fucking cycling/bicycle magazine and show.
The managaka even appears on the tour of france.
As soon as we got more Erina dere and shipping it went up, surprise surprise.
Red Sprite mangaka didn't even get the chance to introduce the cool Kacchan looking kid
If a series not going to sell in the main magazine which is the most popular magazine in Japan and got more exposure and more readers what make you think it will sell in the less popular app?
+400k normally, it barely outsell Bleach and just under Academia
however Bleach's last volume is selling better than the norm and Academia is stretching the gap between the two
>however Bleach's last volume is selling better than the norm
No its not its selling less than the previous volume and its dropping harder than Academia and Souma (the gap between Bleach and Academia was 40k two weeks ago and now its down to 20k)
I don't get where this legend that Nips have bad taste comes from.
They usually manage to axe stuff that is not good to start with; this year in particular I'd sat nip taste is pretty patrician.
I kind of agree with the first anon. I mean, I love Haikyuu, but it's definitely not because of the sport itself. If the author exchanged volleyball for dodgeball or handball, it wouldn't make any difference to me.
And there is no doubt that the biggest reason for the manga to sell so much is because of the large female audience. Not that women are dumb or something, but a lot of people buy more for shipping reasons than for the story.
>Red Sprite (END)
Ha. Knew it.
Maybe you should've stopped rushing and tried to focus on what could make your series standout. How are you gonna make chapter 1 all about airships then instantly make it generic lightning fights?
I could've sworn it was, what the fuck
We're getting a color page and everything, is it just that popular?
Sometimes I wonder if they're doing that on purpose

>its getting a reprint
Its not. Why would they reprint something that's still in stock?
Everything is down from the previous volume so this is pretty pointless
>Giving a reprint to something that had a circulation of over 1 million
You're not too smart are you? It'll be out of the top 50 next week anyways.

We are back to Hunter being the third-longest series in the magazine, that's how new most of the manga are.
In the past few years that i can name off the top of my head we've had Smoky BB, Cross x Manage, Best Blue, Buddy Strike, Hinomaru Zumo, and Sporting Salt.
Smoky BB had nice art and some neat concepts but crappy characters, Cross and Buddy Strike were done by the same guy, Best Blue was DOA, and i don't know about Sporting Salt. Hinomaru is still around though
Well, he's better than Double4anime.
Seriously though, I occasionally watch his videos. I don't think he's bad, though he does bring out a bad video occasionally. Not one of my favourite anime YouTubers, but a good one nonetheless.
This guys art is so nice, but the plot and Volume/magazine covers are dogshit. Yet the chapter covers are fine. Why is he so autistic? It's almost like Nakaba who does amazing chapter covers, but trash volume ones.
Last Page of Red Sprite.
>the enemy was a skeleton

Fucking Umaru hiding the volume cover
No point since Mai Ball! has the best soccer choreography by a country mile. I doubt Ole Golazo would even match Fantasista's choreography and Giant Killing dominates strategy and tactics.
Mai Ball's football is completely retarded. It looks good though, and nobody actually reads Mai Ball for the sport anyway.
I'm not letting you have the last word in this thread
I'll have the last word.
