It turned to shit after the Orange League. I loved may and her dick tease design, but the old style feel was gone. It felt manufactured and plastic after misty was gone, and I aint a Mistyfag. Something about the art voices just felt completely phoned in.

I will agree that the original series had some genuine heart to it that the other series can't match because they're soaked in corporate mandating and a need to be sterile as fuck in an attempt to appeal to all cultures of the world. Not to talk about the comedy which is actually pretty damn good for what it is.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best out of the lot. It might've been the pioneer of the Pokémon anime formula, but both DP and XY had serious cracks at perfecting it with their own styles and I think they both surpassed the original series in many ways.
