Not as much of a masterpiece as Caster's mythological backstory getting axed for a filler segment about her master being an asshole for almost an entire episode, when the VN made that clear in a few lines. Or Shinji fucking around with the maids.

Rin was originally supposed to try and get immediately overwhelmed by Gille's monsters, them making her beat Uryuu with the compass and then all of a sudden faint from two of the starfish monsters making her shrink back was jarring after that scene. Either make Rin a superhero or don't, but don't do it halfway.

The most egregious part is Butcher rewrote the Kariya/Sakura part and made her look like some sadist loli, instead of explaining why she is so traumatized by Zouken and resigns herself, seeing a person being eaten alive at 5 years old.

Yeah, the characters suddently finding themselves in an absurd room that had no reason to exist, ruining the climax of the series because the studio couldn't be bothered to put more effort in the fight was worse.

The fight in Zero is literally missing one part. It's not just a nitpicking a secondary wouln't get, they didn't fucking animate the climax of the fight. It' a million times sorse.
