Because they're normal, well adjusted kids (usually). They aren't sex obsessed 30+ year old virgins who can't even talk to women because their brains are constantly being filled with thoughts of lewd things, and they don't spend hours a day looking at porn and jerking off (which rots your brain and makes it even harder to function in social situations with the opposite sex).

Anime is defined by its over exaggeration of emotions.
If I see a cute girl, I THINK "cute girl, would totally bang her".
If an anime character sees a cute girl, he SAYS and DOES a lot of dumb stuff.

I like my animes to be less in-your-face about a character's emotions and motivations. In live-action movies and in real life, you can tell a lot about someone's emotions just by observing them, it's not necessary for them to yell out "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH IT'S A CUTE GIRL AND SHE'S IN MY CLASS???"
it makes me cringe, honestly, i can't watch shit like that
