Wow I'm in 2006 browsing some shitty anime forums with a Fate Stay Night banner and pic related as a wallpaper
I love fags, I love ice I also love memes and disasters.
It takes max level of homophobic paranoia and insecurity to drop SSY because of the kissing, there is no chance anyone like that is watching this. They'd probably be afraid of catching gay through the screen.
smut of victor trying to dominate yuuri but accidentally awakening yuuri's latent sexual beast when
We're so concerned with global warming and the whale killing, look at us reusing threads. Yoifags are greenfags now.
If they dropped SSY because of that kiss I can't wait to see all the normie homophobes drop aot when season 2 and 3 air. good fucking riddance.
but like >>149886773 said, you'd have to be mentally retarded to drop yoi for the kiss. you knew exactly what the fuck kind of show this was when you started watching it.
That's everything I've ever wanted.
That was the episode where the kids got in same sex relationships and lots of homophobes got bothered (even though it was already stated before that their society encouraged it).
>can't wait to see all the normie homophobes drop aot when season 2 and 3 air
I'm gonna laugh my fucking ass off when people get offended by YH next year.
and in 2020 when Isayama spits all over the faces of EMfags with his OTP EAr.
It's baffling how you keep this woman like mentality about being passive as fuck and going with the flow or whatever on a fucking anonymous board. It doesn't really matter if Victor this or that, but nobody should keep their mouth shut just bc everyone already decided for them. Go suck a fat cock, my frienda.
What's so hard about holding your nose even if your contrarian faggot self doesn't agree?
If the threads decide one thing, then that's the end of it. Compromising the peace just to make yourself heard is shitposting.
I honestly can't believe delusional people who theorize that BaldFat has already done more kissing/intimacy offscreen than what we've seen. The offer seemed more like a desperate attempt at consolation and Viktor even admitted he was bad at dealing with people who break down because he is that much of an airhead. It was like a pampered prince was asked to cradle a baby who was throwing a tantrum. Back to my point, people pointing out that Yuuri just casually threw aside the offer to have been because he was used to it. That I can agree, but because Yuuri is used to Viktor's humorous nature by now. Yuuri is used to Viktor being an affectionate person and that Viktor was just being well, Viktor. People who give that petty offer color as something else other than Viktor being himself and clueless to dealing with human emotions are ruining the show for me. I like it as it already is, even with schrodinger's kiss. But even that, we all know, despite all the discourse, was a legit kiss. TL;DR BaldFat aka Viktuuri is pure. No shenanigans happened offscreen.
Some anons think Viktor was threatening to leave Yuuri in the last episode. Some anons think Viktor was spitballing ideas for if Yuuri were to choke. Everyone seems to be in agreement that Viktor wasn't serious either way and just did a dumb thing. Read the episode how you want to read it.
This thread started vintage with a nice touch of homophobic losers but you had to ruin it, huh?
Can a kind anon translate this? I want to know why it has so many bookmarks.
It's not coming from a place of 'delusion', nobody particularly WANTS to think they've been together off screen where we can't see them. It's completely reasonable to find it odd that Yuuri is totally unsurprised by both the offer and the kiss. It's weird for any first kiss in a romance, considering the circumstances.
But arguments about their personalities are barely relevant anyway, it's all about the narrative and direction. We know they didn't get together off screen because that would be a waste of significant character development they could use in the plot, not because of Victor's personality or whatever in-universe argument there is.
>I honestly can't believe delusional people who theorize that BaldFat has already done more kissing/intimacy offscreen than what we've seen
I don't understand why that's a bad interpretation
Even in the previous episode Yuuri said "I'm the only one who knows Viktor's love, I'm the only one who can satisfy Viktor". Seemed comedic until you add this episode.
I'm ok with both interpretations to be honest.
Stop trying so hard, it's gross. It was a bluff.
I'm bitter desu. buncha fujos and weebfags eating it up but being gay ain't easy. this whole show is just too fruity and tries to press in all this garbage because the director is just like that. i'm talking about Yuri's friends and their kids and some other small things. doesn't help all the gay talk is from two figure skaters, so they can be talking about actual gay, on ice gay, or both.
>IS IT JUST MY IMAGINATION, OR DID IT FEEL LIKE THIS WEEK’S EPISODE OF NIGEHAJI [WHERE THE MAIN CHARACTERS FINALLY KISSED] SYNCHRONIZED WITH SOMETHING…?
From Kubo's twitter, hugfags BTFO and kiss confirmed.
And I'm asking you /a/non, if you're feeling pressured, insecure and upset would you also not react to the notion of your idol offering to kiss you? If Viktor sweating still doesn't reflect the desperation in that attempt then let's just write this series of as your typical western romance and agree they did filthy things offscreen.
Ice Skating is the straightest sport in the world.
From the long poster collection; we will get Yuuri's Victor posters. Small pic, I know.
I was one of the people theorizing it and I don't want it at all. I want to watch all their relationship development and I believe they weren't already in a relationship. I still wanted to discuss to see what other people think about it.
Please stop with the misplaced feelings of persecution. Both interpretations are valid and interesting.
I'm glad we have Mari-neechan reacting this way as opposed to the rest of the family. Having all of them just being happy and gay and accepting about Yuuri hooking up with a famous guy who randomly showed up to coach him would be totally sappy.
I agree, I can relate too. I know I usually react this way whenever a mandatory straight sex scene is hammered in on screen.
If anything it's delusional to think nothing happens offscreen. The timeskip from episode 4 to episode 5 in particular makes it obvious things happened. Now how much happened, that is the true question. Still I trust Kubo shows us the most pivotal moments of their relationship.
People act like Yoi is the first sport anime with canon gay couple. Bitch, we had it for 20 years, why no one remember Battle Athletes?!
>The show's too fruity, gay characters should go through suffering instead of being happy
No thanks. It's nice for once to see 2 guys loving each other and being happy about their relationship without all the depressing drama.
It was a kiss. Now shut the fuck up.
For reference, Kubo's saying this week episode was synchronized with nigehaji (a popular drama) new episode (where main characters kissed for the first time after a lot of teasing before).
This is my favorite merch right now and I will do whatever I can to get my hands on it.
What's happening there?
I'm not very good in japanese, but i think it says something like this:
Viktor: Huh? It was your first time?! Well... I'm sorry I did that.
Yuri: No, I'm rather happy that my first partner was Viktor.
Reminder that Kubo will never draw art of you and Victor
how do i become famous enough for this
>not kissing your bro in a total no homo way
>not trying to sleep with your bro in a no homo way
>not touching your bro's naked body to help with his dexterity
>not volunteering to become your bro's lover to help him out
>not being turned on by your bro's erotic dance
>not thinking about seducing your bro in a no homo way
I don't see it.
Reminder that gay people do not have sex even when they like each other, they just nod at one another and go about whatever they were already doing. Otherwise they'd be TOO gay, way gayer than they're supposed to be.
I don't care either way. If they already did stuff then it's realistic and doesn't take away anything from their cute relationship. One of the great things about this anime is that the leads are adults and not teenagers so it doesn't have to overblow first kisses and stuff since in reality your first kiss and first time having sex aren't always fireworks.
Though since it's anime that kiss at the end was probably was their first kiss and Victor just offered to kiss him before because he's openly affectionate.
Did Kubo really confirm that it was a kiss?
>go in blind
>expect yuri on ice
>get yaoi on ice
>yaoi on ice amiright
You have to drink now.
Also, will you keep watching or did you drop it like hot lava?
>what i expected: yuri on ice
>what i got: yaoi on ice
What the fuck is with this show, its gay as hell but sounds like lesbians. Is this the equivalent of anime clickbait? It covers all gay bases.
Only for western audiences. Not a single japanese yurifat was baited.
Also you have to drink as penitence for inflicting your stale posts on everybody.
Any other anons out there get fuzzy feelings watching because it makes you want to go out and do amazing things?
Then you remember you're old and feel sad because you haven't done anything worthwhile like be a famous skater?
j-just me right guys?
I'm not even gay, but this is the first time I have wanted to fuck a man.
I would fucking plow Yuri, this show has awakened something in me
Go and make history anon. In 10 years you'll regret you haven't started right now.
No point dwelling on the past either. Sure it's too late to become a genius 15 year old world champion, but you can still accomplish things people will look up to you for.
I-I don't know guys, Iam really enjoying this whole gay romance shit. It's not like I like the idea of two males falling in love, it's just that I find how much Yuri love Victor and want him to himself is really cute.
Is this it? Am I becoming a fag and a Fujoshit?
When are we going to get rid of the blight that is fujoshits in the sport genre? They ruined yet another show.
>read up on this shit before the season
>expect a serious drama about a fallen athlete coming to grips with his failures and the depression from his dreams slipping through his fingers all the while dealing with the crushing expectations from his timetown who still think "their boy" is a star and just unlucky or in a slump
>get none of that and whimsical yaoibait instead
All that premise wasted.
It just means you know a good romance when you see one. I usually don't care much about the gender of the protagonists when I stumble upon one either.
Welcome. You're definitely a fudanshi now though.
Yuuri's struggle was addressed already as:
1. Choking because of Anxiety
2. Fear of Intimacy and lack of romantic relationships (which is a must to skate and captivate the audience).
3. Low self-esteem/poor confidence.
There's nothing wrong with Yuuri's skills. He is really talented, but his emotional issues and lack of discipline fucked him up. Viktor already straightened that shit. And last episode portrayed Yuuri choking with his anxiety.
Anon, when I went to Japan last year I met a 70 year old american guy who came there for a year long judo initiation course. His objective was to become a black belt by the time his course ended and last I talked to him he was on the right track.
You don't have any excuses not to do the thing anon. It's all in your head.
How is it a waste? His and Victor's relationship is so tied into the plot of the show it wouldn't work without him. You full well knew what you were getting into with this show.
This isn't a show about depression. It's about overcoming it and getting back on track.
You have a fucking bazillion shows that depict depression in depth already, watch them and stop whining.
Actually I didn't. All of the summaries and previews talked about stuff that is barely relevant after half of ep1 (for example his mixed feelings about coming home after years) and none of them gave any hints about this being gay shit. None of the key people behind the production have a reputation of gay shit.
A tales of sleeping prince
I have to say, this track felt like foreshadowing when it overlapped with the pic related. It's about kissing after all.
...Viktor was doing his romantic routine skating only in front of Yuuri under the moonlight since the opening of episode 1.
And Yuuri's bedroom posters and framed pictures were beyond acceptable.
>t-the girl who animated https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6Uj2a_Ehy0 didn't have a reputation for gay shit!
What exactly are you whining about? Being tricked? Your own ignorance? Being tricked into enjoying fujobait because you were ignorant and feeling insecure as a result?
Grow the fuck up, pussy
How is it not utilizing its unique premise? Yuri fails one time and gets right back up and is more determined to get better because he's learned what love is. Just because it's not what you want doesn't mean it's "wasted."
No it doesn't. For the most part the show plays out either as if Yuuri never actually made it before or is indifferent to that fact. Take the gay away and it's very standard rookie sports shit.
>implying a random animation for fun is more representative of a person's style
Well duh, of course something you do for fun and decide to do for yourself will be more reprensative of what you like, as opposed to what you do for a job.
Thanks for confirming you were retarded, I must admit I still had doubts before that last post.
Goddamn this episode was romantic as fuck. Victor completely dropped that playboy shit and you can tell how serious he is about being his coach.
I think the whole garage scene and them walking back to the rink to that song is more of a highlight for me than the kiss.
>For the most part the show plays out either as if Yuuri never actually made it before or is indifferent to that fact.
They're not just going to plonk him in the GPF because he got there one time before. The structure you're complaining about is the structure of the actual competition circuit.
>Dealing with the fallout from his previous caree for more than 10 minutes of ep1 would have made this return to greatness have much more impact and weight.
That's exactly what they're doing by having him participate in the qualifying rounds, which you incidentally just complained about >>149891070 right here.
Sure, I will link it after this.
Most of them treat him like an old friend. Minami idolizes him. Yurio was the only one to treat him like a rookie, and even then he was dragged back down into reality very quickly. Again, are we watching the same show? Am I being trolled?
Thai respects him enough to hook him with connections. Minami idolizes him. He puts Yurio in his place when the dude disrespects him. He has one of the highest scores on the rink. What show are you watching?
Multiple people in-show have acknowledged his technical finesse in his step sequence and the fact that he's starting to land several different types of quads. Phichit even monologued about it in his FP a bit. That's not treating him like a rookie at all.
I can't get over that this man literally became an anime.
I don't, maybe my eyes are shit but I can't see it in the OST list either.
I think so, yes.
Isn't around 17:50 of the episode 7 kinda weird? The sounds don't match the image at all. Yuuko's mouth is moving but all you can hear is weird wailing.
They have a functional heart.
The only downside to the kiss is the recent influx of contrarians who feel entitled to diss the show without watching it.
Why was I not born in nipland? It hurts, senpais.
Just cook it yourself, it's not that hard. I made like 5 katsudons during the last month. The hardest part is not to turn the breadcrumbs on the cutlet into charcoal. The secret is to let it cook over low heat with enough butter and olive oil. 5 minutes on each side usually do the trick.
What will happens to Taco guys, I'm so worried for my bae :(
That's gonna be beautiful. They'll think that the episode containing chapter 50 means EM is "canon" (hilariously that's more EAr than EM considering Eren was staring at Armin most of the time) and then get squished into tiny pieces every single chapter after that.
Yes. Confirmed canonically gay/bisexual characters: Ymir, Historia, Uri (Historia's uncle), Kenny (Levi's uncle), and Reiner.
Eren and Armin are heavily implied to be gay and bisexual respectively but haven't been outright stated yet, outside of the author stating that everyone in-universe thinks Eren and Armin are dating. Levi has Ackerautism so it's hard to tell but the author's comment when questioned about what type of girls Levi likes was pretty...interesting. "I wonder if Levi even likes women. He likes tall people, I suppose."
/snk off topic end
Back to your regularly scheduled faggots on ice.
I am curious why Yuri keeps saying it's going to be his last season. He's only 23, which even in show isn't that old. Is it because he wasn't placing? I mean, he was the #1 skater in Japan, even if he came sixth. Surely that's not something to quit over.
Seriously? I admit I kinda followed what happened at a distance, even more so since I don't give a shit about EMA, but honestly I don't see it.
It would be fun if it did happen though, Production IG would get btfo for replacing Armin with Mikasa in that scene in S1 too.
They were the Yuriofags all along.
It's just a fatalistic "this is my last chance" sort of feeling. He'll realize he can keep skating after all this season with Victor to help him rekindle his love and confidence.
Is that a country where that makes a "sweden!" sound when you clap?
>come to bukkake on ice threads to escape snkfaggotry for a while and talk about the cute thai boy
>snkfags everywhere, derailing the threads
It never ends.
Why the fuck can't you stop talking about this completely irrelevant shit? It's not just once or twice which is forgivable. Fuck off forever. I hope the author shits all over your shitty pairing.
Meh I already did, I'm up to date with it. But like I said I hate EMA's guts. Now that commander handsome's dead I only keep reading for Levi and the plot.
You can only blame yourself for posting in them in the first place.
OK so now that we actually got a kiss, are we leveling our expectations up to an actually canon Victor/Yuuri ending? Or are we still ambiguous?
Personally I will find an ambiguous ending pretty tame and I don't think it would live up to the hype. Thoughts?
I expected them to stay in their own threads but I swear to god I saw an Arminfag shitposting on /pol/ and /r9k/ earlier and wanted to stab myself in the foot.
Gladly will post more Peachy.
Who should be making an appearance to the rostelecom episode again, based on episode 8's seiyu comic?
There's JJ, Emil, Michele, his sister, Grandpa,... Who else?
They outgay themselves every episode. We got a canon kiss now which is more than 90% of het romance so anything goes, really. Wouldn't surprise me if we got an implied sex scene in a week or two.
Thank you anon, thank you.
>link in Utena movie
Now I want them to turn into cars.
Shows like this remind me that I've wasted my time on shitty guys more then anything.
>the I will never he Georgi's broken heart.
Before this episode I was convinced the best we can hope for is an ambiguous end. Now I think full homo is possible but who knows if they will go there. Skating comes first, neither of them are in a position to pursue romance.
I think it will end implying that they are about to embark on a new stage in their relationship. Stay Close to Me will be involved.
- Before the Recording:
First, the cast introduced themselves to each other. 'I look forward to working with you!'
- During the Break:
During the break, people practised the flow of the song for the scene where the audience sings 'A Certain Skater'. After making use of their practice, the real deal came out wonderfully.
- Recording of the Narration:
Fujisawa Tsuhiko, who does actual narration on real life figure skating shows, joined the recordings.
Fujisawa: 'I think I'll go with the polite form for this'
Staff: 'Alright then' ... But he repeatedly changed his wording to be more serious.
- Before the Real Deal:
Yuuri (Toyonaga): 'I'm a bit lost on how I should say 'I'll show you!'... but I'll try doing it off the cuff!'
Victor (Suwabe): 'I'll show you~!' *in a different intonation
Yuuri (Toyonaga): 'Oh no! If you do that, I'll get all messed up!' There were playful (?) times like that too.
- Real Deal Recordings, Start!
The voice acting cast stood in front of the mikes, and vividly brought the characters to life!
Sara: 'Hey, watch how you're saying that!'
At Yajima's proposal, the triplets' lines were altered to have a more...
Loop (Yajima): 'Kids would mimic lines like, Steamy! Sexy! Men!' ... a comical feeling!
After mic test, JJ and Emil had a deep discussion about the directionality of the characters. 'What do we do...'
Staff: 'Emil is a clear, pleasant kind of character.'
(last row of panels)
Staff: 'This line is a bit difficult, do you think you can divide up the recording?'
JJ (Miyano): 'It's no problem, since I'm JJ!!'
JJ's hot and deep acting drew laughs from the entire studio.
JJ (Miyano): 'IT'S JJ STYLE!!'
The recording of the Grand Prix Series was constantly in a state of hot air and laughter.
It would mostly be Yuuri being mopey and I can't deal with that. Or maybe it would light a fire under Yuuri's ass? Who knows I am on the end of wanting domestic comfy stuff more then anything else.
/a/ it is your fault that Viktor looks stressed out. What would you do to make it up to him?
Victor looks much happier as a coach than winning GPF. He's old, if he keeps doing insane programs with all those quads he will fuck his body up.
But who knows. Yuri certainly inspired him.
If Victor stays as his coach we're guaranteed more relationship shenanigans. I want Victor and Yuri to go head to head at some point, though, so that we can see what Yuri is truly made of against his rival.
This plus the fact that he seems to enjoy motivating others than actually accomplishing something of himself.
How would you feel if there was a season two focused just on Yurio (Or a totally new Yuri)
With a happily married and retried Yuri and Victor showing up every now and then for moral support
Anything really. Though if he's stressed out I'd draw him a bath, then join him to massage his back and feets, then bake him a brownie, and watch whatever on TV or play scrabble while we eat. Then we go to bed and I spoon him, trying my best not to play with his hair until he falls asleep.
I don't know. This season is working because Yuri and Victor are hilarious and the series is so much about them. I don't think it would be as engaging without them.
Having said that though, it depends on how they end it.
I mean, it would come under the blanket of surprising but also induce fujo mass suicide
He's obviously not Satan but he's right though. In stories like these where the flow of things seems steady and the MC's road to success seems all mapped out the peak is usually the moment where all hell breaks lose and everything seem to be over and the MC fails right before his objective. But thanks to the power of scenaristic chekhov guns, friendship or some other magic he'll succeed anyways.
For YoI it seems obvious that everything is over moment is either an injury or Viktor and Yuuri breaking up.
I'd root for it, of course.
There won't be much left to talk about once Yuuri wins the GPF and Viktor's dick anyways. Yurio on the other hand has enough problems and an objective I think could sustain an entire season.
I'm as much of a Fairyfag as they come, but I think he works better as a supporting protagonist. Also, I doubt downgrading Victor and Yuuri to side characters would be a smart move, lots of people watch the show for them.
Regardless, I would watch the shit out of it.
>Skaters' hearts are as fragile as glass.
>If their hearts are so fragile...
>Let's try shattering his to pieces.
Huh, so anon earlier actually might've been onto something here. Viktor seems to be referring to the fact that athletes hate to lose, so it makes sense if crushing Yuuri's heart = saying he might lose. Wouldn't really make as much sense if it was just to threaten him with leaving, since not every skater is attached at the hip with their coach. Wasn't expecting that.
I thinks it's safe to say it was both. Viktor leaving, and mentioning the possibility Yuuri wouldn't reach the podium.
Probably the safest assumption. Yuuri seems to allude to both possibilities.
>Why would you say something like that, like you're trying to test me?
Sounds like it refers to Viktor leaving.
>I'm used to being blamed for my own failures!
>But this time, I'm anxious because my mistakes would reflect on you, too!
>I've been wondering if you secretly want to quit!
>Of course I don't-
>Just have more faith than I do that I'll win!
>You don't have to say anything, just sand by me!
Sounds like it refers to Viktor implying he'd lose.
So everyone was right basically.
Yeah, the hypothetical threat of Victor leaving + Yuuri not winning was supposed to be a double whammy to get Yuuri fired up, but Victor fucked up when he didn't realize that Yuuri was actually most anxious about making Victor look bad.
I feel like Victor is a sort of Manic Pixie Dream Girl. He seems like he came out of nowhere to pull Yuuri from his slump and in the end he'll grow unnecessary. He'll "fix" Yuuri and then float his impulsive ass to some other thing. I don't want that to happen but that's what I feel like will happen. I just don't see Victor as someone who'd establish a long term relationship with anyone, both because he himself doesn't want to and because he's incapable of doing that.
Yuuri's narration in the beginning of episode 1 sounds like Victor will go away, but I don't think it's death. He'll just go away after he achieves his goals with Yuuri. They'll have a beautiful, passionate but short-lived fling. The break up will hurt Yuuri but he'll recover and look back on his time with Victor fondly.
Victor's idea was good in theory but as per drama conventions, they haven't actually communicated enough so Victor didn't understand what was at the root of Yuri's anxiety.
Yuri is right, too. If Victor wants to coach him properly, he needs to work out how to fix Yuri's anxiety problems, or at least minimise them before a comp. Yuri has already proven he has the raw skill and talent on ice, it's just his attitude that sucks.
>I feel like Victor is a sort of Manic Pixie Dream Girl
People need to stop saying this. Victor didn't drop out of the sky to fix Yuuri, he already knew who Yuuri was and had competed with him previously.
I see where you're coming from, but I think episode 7 kind of turned this on its head. Yuri blowing up at Victor showed him in all his faults. He's not a good coach and has no idea how to help Yuri's real problems. This is why I think he'll go back to skating. He's great with technical and choreo but has no idea how to handle skaters emotions.
If they do the storyline arc properly, season one will be about Yuri learning to overcome his pre-skate jitters, and season two will be about Victor learning how to coach and relate to people properly.
Or, it could even be that the second half of the season will focus on that. It's already lining up to be the case after this episode. I have no doubt there will be a few more fights before Victor gets it.
The problem was that that one anon didn't think Victor's threat was a threat at all, but a legitimate offer to help Yuuri by leaving if they lost. Victor was clearly lying and not going to leave even if Yuuri did lost, plus the only reason he did that was to fuck with Yuuri.
I have no idea. Yuuri all but says he doesn't want to hear Viktor implying implications about losing OR for Viktor to leave. There was no reason for that shouting match about semantics.
>Yuri is growing and getting better but Victor hasn't improved as a coach yet
This might be a parallel to what Yuuri envisioned for his first Eros routine. The woman seducing the man will leave the seduced man.
Actually, that anon never said it was a legitimate offer. They just said he came up with the offer instead of believing in Yuuri like he should've. It dissolved into shitflinging after that, but nobody in the thread seemed to think Viktor was serious about it either way.
Nobody was listening to each other, it was a typical /a/ argument.
What the fuck, how come I didn't notice up till now.
This whole time I thought Yuuri was just ashamed to meet his idol for the first time as this one loser who messed up and ranked 6th.
Well, Viktor wasn't wrong though, he's probably so used to being around fans, he knows one when he sees one.
>woman seducing the man will leave the seduced man
Or it might be that Yuri will go further than Victor like he wants.
I don't really mean it literally, more like how it feels for the audience. Obviously Yuuri had idolized Victor since forever and Victor knew him at least by name.
They probably don't have plans for the story for a second season.
This makes sense and it's true Victor hasn't really fixed Yuuri and shouldn't be able to do that. I just can't shake the feeling Victor won't be by Yuuri's side in the end.
Trust me, I was arguing for hours, they kept saying they didn't believe it was meant to be a threat when clearly the whole scene framed it as a dramatic, negative offer.
We all agreed Victor fucked up and should've believed in Yuuri.
In the normal skating world all the skaters are really close to each other because beyond competitions they also perform together in shows.
The fact that Yuri says that he's never met Victor before tells me that maybe Yuri hasn't done much socialising with the other skaters beyond the ones he trained with in Detroit.
Saying it's not a threat isn't saying he was serious though. They said he came up with a dumb offer and that an offer isn't a threat, but anon never said that Victor was going to follow through with it.
If that was you arguing, you assumed stuff just as much as they did. I just finished reading the thread, I can tell you that for sure.
>I just can't shake the feeling Victor won't be by Yuuri's side in the end.
To me, that all depends on Victor's motivation. If he wants to continue coaching I'm sure they'll stick together, but I think he'll go back to skating because Yuri has reignited his love and interest in the sport. Yuri will be his first real challenge in ages.
>Yuri hasn't done much socialising with the other skaters beyond the ones he trained with in Detroit
He wasn't even in touch with the people he was with in Detroit. The first time he called Ciao Ciao after GP was when Victor asked him about his former coach. He called Phichit not to catch up but to ask a favor.
He's really socially awkward.
From what I understood, the anon did think that it was a legitimate "out" offered by Victor instead of it being the complete lie it was meant to "shatter his heart."
There was a lot of us near the end and it just devolved into us talking in circles over and over, so I'm going to back off now instead of restarting this shit again. It was entertaining though.
I'm not dragging this argument back into this thread with you. You can have the last word if you want it, but let's be clear. I never thought Victor was serious about the offer, he himself says he wasn't. Like >>149895313 says, offers aren't threats. That was the entire point, and now I'm done talking about this for good.
Shit taste, but you just reminded me of how badly I want to see some of the show's routines in that brushstroke style. I still can't believe one person animated that whole thing by themselves, that's crazy talent.
>but anon never said that Victor was going to follow through with it.
Yeah but that wasn't then point of contention. Anon was claiming Victor did it in an effort to make Yuri "feel better." That's what was so wrong.
This bit of dialogue makes me think otherwise anon
It's hard for me to imagine such a happy, lighthearted show with little drama would have such a depressing ending.
The song that brought them together promises them to stay together too.
Besides, canon homo characters in non BL/GL shows most often than not get heartbreak or die. If this show followed that pattern that wouldn't be making history. This show is here to surprise not to repeat.
It's just like Nishigori said in episode 2. He doesn't have many friends because he isn't good at putting himself out there.
He probably avoided shows and contact with other skaters as much as possible and spent the competitions staring longingly at Viktor without ever talking to him, just like he was doing in epsiode 1 "Ah, if I do have a chance one day I'd like to- oh shit" Except Viktor senpai finally noticed him, at the worst moment possible too.
I thought it was because Yuri was the only person Victor ever saw on earth who could copy him down to a tee. Just like on episode 7 where he rotated 4 times but didn't stick the landing and everybody say it was Victors signature move or something.
I have a feeling it's because Victor spent his life wanting to find somebody like him, and Yuri was the first person to ever really meet his super high thinking.
Just my thoughts.
>since not every skater is attached at the hip with their coach
But Yuri is, and they both know it. It's not just about leaving either, what scares Yuri is that his loss will drag Victor down too, not the loss in itself.
To Victor, being surprising is key. What's more surprising than dropping skating for a season to coach?
We don't know why from Victor himself though, except some flowery bullshit.
Nah he didn't nail the technical parts.
But Viktor still thought Yuuri performed the routine better than himself, not technically, but in feeling. Even Minako comments on how this routine, which is about being abandonned and resenting love itself then loving again, just doesn't suit a slut like Viktor.
So for your anons who know a thing or two about ice skating. Just how bad does it hurt when you fail to stick your landings bust your ass all over the ice like Yuri has did a few times?
And him smacking his face into the wall that time should have knocked him flat out, right?
It always bothered me he just got a bit of a bloody nose from clearly smacking his face going full speed like that.
