Looks good, but always try to keep at least a little bit white space between the bubble edges and the text. If necessary, make the text smaller or give it a white outline.
And try to center the text more, text boxes make that easier.

You're not using the same color as the page to erase the text. The page isn't pure white.
Use either the eyedropper tool to pick out the correct color or use something like the healing brush to erase the text.

I'm trying to whiten the page by mode-grayscale, invert, brighten+contrast adjust, re-invert. a bit crude method

i used to use auto addon tools to clean raws but i can't find it, any suggestion?

Redhawkscan use to have all the links for the tools and all the scanlating guide,but it have shutted down.

Double click on the text layer, but not where the text is.
