Michael Sinterniklaas is the only lead from Summer Wars in the Your Name dub cast. It's interesting that the leads of Summer Wars and Your Name share the same actor for both Japan and America though.

Funimation isn't just using Texan based actors anymore and hasn't for some time now given the state of the industry and how its essentially gotten most of the titles coming out they manage to snag LA based actors like JYB and Sheh to do regular voices in their dubs when before they were mainly contracted with Bang Zoom. Except it wasn't. The film explains that they don't really remember much when they switch bodies, so everytime they switch its like if it was the first time and they always think they're in a dream, so they write the diary entries thinking they're still in a dream.

Except the film coveys a certain level of acceptance that it is more than a dream, the characters acknowledge this, going so far as to open a line of communication with each other. Mitsuha even goes to Tokyo to find Taki, so it's not as if they don't remember anything.

Also, it was kind of a shit way to try and fill in plot holes, given that there's little foreshadowing for it. And it come off as an incredibly convenient excuse to justify why Taki couldn't remember anything that would have helped find Mitsuha.

Just because they show up in a Funi dub once in a while doesn't make them regulars. Regulars at Funimation are like Caitlin Glass, Christopher Sabat, J Michael Tatum, Brina Palencia, etc.

Funimation only tries to get California actors if it's required like Tales of Zestiria the X or Danganronpa 3 or a big projects such as Attack on Titan where they actually extended auditions to California actors.

Actually it does. If they appear in more than one dub from them then they're regulars.

Those actors were also in their other dubs as well. They don't fucking extend auditions since the bulk of those actors were already on their short lists already (most of the actors in the AoT dub were also in Baccano years prior). Dubs aren't segregated like they were years back everything is pretty much connected, Chris Sabat and Sean were in the OPM dub by Bang Zoom.

AOT was a Matt Greenfeld dub. The Majority of the actors in that dub had already been in Funi dubs before with the exception of Sasha's VA. Shit like Sengoku and Tales of Vesperia were contracted so they were able to get the old VAs back but the Danganropna dub had a mostly different cast from the game.
