I don't see why KyoAnifags should feel jealous of Flip Flappers 'popularity' on /a/ when Hibike is more popular and successful everywhere else. Besides, IP count is never mentioned when talking about post numbers for both shows, they both roughly have 120~ IPs when their threads reach bump limit, but FliFla ones are just faster and with more discussion and speculation since it's an original show. Hibike fans have had a whole year to discuss the spoilers of the novels.

I do believe the characters with the exception of Cocona are kind of flat. But I don't think it has anything to do with their lines of dialogue. They're very archetypal, any struggle they have and the way they respond to it is pretty much in tune with what I've been expecting from them based on similar characters from other shows. If there's any complain I'd say the characters are the weakest part of Flip Flappers, they're not bad, just not on par with the direction, screenplay and visuals.
